so will the 2nd ep air tonight as well? :3

edit: asking because someone mentioned that the 2nd ep will be aired on streaming services? is this true?

Seems good so far. Eva Green is great, Dalton is of course the man. Everyone except for Josh Hartnett. How does that guy keep finding work? That and I almost threw up in my mouth when they showed his hairy ass on screen.

That was pretty damn good. First pilot I've sat down to watch in a good while. I'm impressed they are taking things nice and slow. Feels like a good show to invest time in.

Show does look very expensive. Even by premium cable standards.

First thing I thought as well. dat $$$ spending

Overall, I gave the pilot a chance and I enjoyed it very much. Loved the jump scares.

I read some reviews about people saying they almost couldn't make it through the pilot.. seriously wtf?

This was really great. I really dig the Hammer influences, which is especially neat. I could see people's comparisons to the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but I see a lot more influences with the Hammer horror series than those.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the pilot. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

If renewed, hopefully we'll get a 13-episode second season. 8 just isn't enough when you're talking once a year.

Personally I hope the show sticks with 8 episodes. No room for filler, the show and story would need to remain focused and lean. I'd rather have that kind of pacing

Like the pilot easily had the best pacing of any pilot I've seen in a long time. Not a second wasted, dropped us right into the action, didn't waste time with much exposition. In ten minutes, the characters are already together and fighting vampires.

Am i only one who thinks everyone in this show except for Hartnett, Green and Dalton overacting? Also, i wish it would not take itself so seriously and be more like Victorian Torchwood

So GAF's opinion is give this a chance? I'm thinking about watching the first episode tonight.

I'd say yes. It's nothing mindblowing, but the setting is quite interesting and the actors chomp their lines away. Apparently the second episode is considerably better than the premiere, so there is that.

Eva Green is fucking amazing holy shit. Second ep doesn't even feel like the same show.

Dorian's introduction is so good

From three-time Oscar® nominee John Logan, the SHOWTIME drama series PENNY DREADFUL debuted to 1.443 million viewers last night, besting the series premieres of recent network dramas HOMELAND and MASTERS OF SEX by five percent (both delivered 1.38 million) in their first seasons. The series premiere of PENNY DREADFUL drew 872,000 at 10 p.m.

PENNY DREADFUL, which debuted to wide critical acclaim, was sampled across SHOWTIME ON DEMAND® and SHOWTIME ANYTIME® in the two weeks leading up to its premiere last night. Within that time period an additional 900,000 SHOWTIME subscribers sampled the series, bringing the PENNY DREADFUL series premiere total to 2.3 million viewers.

62 percent of the PENNY DREADFUL premiere audience last night was aged 18-49. That is the youngest-skewing audience for a SHOWTIME drama since Dexter’s series premiere in 2006 with 65 percent.

The series premiere was also offered across multiple platforms including YouTube, the SHOWTIME website, via a number of television providers' websites, on the SHOWTIME Preview app on Smart TVs, as well as for download as a free video podcast on iTunes. Additional online sampling data will be available in the upcoming weeks for those platforms though early data shows that over 500,000 non-SHOWTIME viewers have sampled the series to-date.

Well those had to be the weakest, most disappointing vampires ever.

damn right it was!
and it has to be a werewolf doing the murder right, it can't be a vampire considering the blood still there?
and does everyone know if ep 3 will be up early next week too?

Holy shit, that ending!
(Episode 2)
Really like how they lead us to think Proteus was the monster. Very interested to see Victor's story now

Great second episode. Eva is killing it. And that ending was brilliant.

I just threw up.

Just thought of this (Episode 2 spoilers)
Could the killer be Frankenstein's monster? It's strong enough to rip someone in half and going after women could tie in with its desire to have a female companion like in the book. And having Victor team up with Malcolm and co. to stop his monster from killing could be interesting

thats exactly what i thought upon reflection
or
Ethan's waking up not knowing where he was and it looks like he's got a bite on his palm, he may be a werewolf (classic wolfman had a mark on the palm) and he's doing it and not quiet realizing it yet
