People who don't say "you're welcome"

Sometimes I thank people too much.

When I go out for dinner, should I thank them for the drink and then the food if they bring them separately, or just thank them for the food?

I don't expect the servers to say "You're welcome" though. I expect them to tell me the plate is hot or ask if I need anything.

How about those people that block doorways and yell "excuse you!" when you have to pass through their personal space.

Is it better to say "yes" or say nothing at all?

I prefer the less serious "no problem" or, to friends "It's cool, bro". Also I only really use you're welcome sarcastically. Like when I do something and someone doesn't say thanks. Of course I don't actually care but I just enjoy saying it.

"No problem" is usually what I'd say. I do also say "You're welcome", so either way works for me. Or a head nod.

Thread reminds me of this:

I have a habit of saying "Mhmm" instead of "You're Welcome"

One of my friends would make fun of me for that all the time.

I also might say "Sure thing" or "Yeah, no problem"

As long as the person says something to acknowledge the "thank you," it's fine. "You're welcome" can sound too formal sometimes. It doesn't bother me at all if someone prefers a different response.
