I wouldn't worry much if they had enough time left. But launch occurs in November, which means they have to pretty much be finishing debugging by October (being very aggressive.) That leaves them with 5 more months. It's just not too much time left, and well, I'm not sold on the style of the game either. Looks void of personality, at least those mp pics.

They need to have the master ready by then. Every game should at least have 2-3 month of beta or it will probably be bug infested. I dont think Microsoft will take any risks with THE launch game

Wow, this game looks like shit though. Current gen games look better than this.

Glad MS blew their wad before E3, now I just have to concentrate on Sony and Nintendo's E3 unveilings.
 
before this unveiling i told myself that i would get PD0 when i bought myself an xbox360

after this unveiling i now tell myself that i will get kameo IF i buy myself an xbox360

This is true..but it still doesn't look look like a game should, being coded specifically for a dual-core 9800/X800 system. A game coded specifically for that setup should still look better than any PC game out there, to be honest (most PC games are still coded with DX7-level hardware as the minimum spec..this doesn't look like a game coded for, and only for, a dual core DX9-level system). In other words, this is no excuse.

The pages are there but the images are GONE! If it was bandwidth they'd surely remove the whole pages and not just the pictures cause people will still go looking for them.
 
Sorry, we had a slight hiccup earlier that caused the site to go down momentarily.

It's been up for a while now... and the screens should all be there.

This is the guy who spread nude photos of himself all over the net and then went and traded nude photos of his girlfriend to be able to get a PSP. I would always just expect his gaming opinions to in some way mirror his sordid life, if only in unabashed absurdity.

That was called... editing? It was DESIGNED for him to look geeky/annoying, and a lot of what he said throughout that program was blatantly scripted, anyway. (It couldn't have passed you by that they had the three stereotypes there at Rare, geek, too-cool thuglife, and agressive girl gamer, right?)

Nice way to neatly skip over the actual questions, while hinting at them being included, anyway. "Fully Destructable Environments?" "Well, I-" "Spectacular Lighting?" "Er-" "FREE MONEY WITH EVERY PURCHASE?" *MTV show cuts away*
 
the gameplay looks like its going to rock, they didnt go into full details about how the game will play but some of the mentioned tweaks sound great.

Im happy to see that Rare will be showing off the single player, i expect it to be considerbly better looking. Like VS mode in Splintercell: CT to Single player mode, or Counter Strike Source to HL2 single player. A similar jump in visual quality

Che, any word on PDZ being playable on the showfloor?
 
Its obviously not running on the unreal 3.0 engine(final development kits) which all Rare games are now supposed to be using. Compare it to Gears Of War and you can see that!

There is no way they can get this out at launch with the necassary upgrades required.

Best case scenario - delayed until fall 2006.

And the other xbox games that do look good? Same old stuff we have been playing the last 5 years. Can't wait for Revolution next week!

(What I dont understand is we were told MS were constantly shipping updated development kits (over new 50 versions!) How the hell did Rare not do bettter than this?

Not all MGS games are using UE3.0. They simply licensed it for use, they're not bound to use it in every game. And I think it's obvious that none of Rare's games are using it (although maybe not looking at Namco's supposed UE3-powered game).
 
I think we can finally come to a cross-platform consensus that Rare are complete and utter bollocks.

How can you say that when you haven't played PD0 or probably Conker for that matter? Come on. And Kameo looks better than anyone expected.

PD0 looks like shit right now but I'm prepared to wait until we get some actual gameplay impressions and shots/video of the final product before writing it off.

Given that their last decent game was in 1997 (GE) I believe I can say this. And sorry, there is no excuse for a game this long in development to look this bad.

Because Starfox Adventures and GBTG were average. Because Conker is a port of an n64 game. Because Kameo started life 4 years ago and the design of the game does not reflect Rare's status as of this minute.

Rare's last two stabs at original games (SFA & GBTG) are a better indication of their quality than graphically upgraded ports.
