Persona 4 The Golden and Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Screenshots

Actually, did the scans confirm if the game will be limited to characters from 3 and 4 only?

Maybe it'll be the seven battle hardened members of the Investigation Team from Persona 4 + Aigis from Persona 3 + the protagonist of Persona 1 + Tatsuya from Persona 2. Y'know, promote all the recent Persona game re-releases for marketing reasons.

Animation has never been Arc's strong point and I doubt it'll change here. But it will probably still play pretty good. (People are seeing some Jojo's Bizzare Adventure vibes and people liked that, but I think the Hokuto no Ken and Sengoku Basara titles were fun, albeit completely broken).

Why the fuck am I so hyped for this despite never playing P4?
Because you know it is pretty much universally (GAF-wise and beyond) praised so your excitement is expected.

I don't want to arise any port begging, but has there been any suggest of other platforms for P4G? It would seem logical to put the game on PS360 to me, but who knows.

Kind of amazes me there's still people who haven't played Persona 4 this late in the game. And some of those people own it, even.
Bought it, played a few hours and then my PS2 broke. I guess I just have awesome luck like that. Really can't bring myself to get another one to replace it (and I've since sold the game anyway) so I'll be grabbing this version to finally see what all the Persona fuss is about. It seemed interesting from the few hours I played at least.

Atlus have never mentioned HD remasters.

I am kind of curious about the possibility of an HD remaster of P4 on consoles, though. There are going to be a lot of people (not us, obviously,) that go "Persona 4 Fighting game? What is persona?" when it's released on PS3 and even more so on Xbox 360. Other than Catherine (which is a spinoff of sorts), no SMT game has been released on Xbox consoles in North America.

I'm sure they're just making it for 360 because of Catherine's success as well as the fact that Blazblue is on 360 as well so it's already set up for multiplatform, but it still strikes me as kind of odd.

Guilty Gear & Blazblue have pretty solid animation.

Fist of the North Star & Sengoku Basara have pretty bad animation and are tie-ins.

This is a tie-in but hopefully it's more like the former.

P4'S MAIN BETTER BE NAMED CHARLIE TUNOKU

ANYTHING ELSE WILL BE BULLSHIT

Let MC players enter the character name. DO IT.

Also, Atlus could offer crossplay Teddie at $100 DLC, and I'd totally buy it. I'll also be disappointed if Fuuka isn't a playable character. Round starts, get in one hit, put up Lucia's barrier, wait for round over.

They're probably making it on 360 because they're already planning on localizing it in the US.

thinking bout this game made me realize that atlus may not be ready for a next gen persona. When i played Catherine, I was thinking of how great persona characters would look using this type of style, ie not super deformed sorta look like p3 and p4. Argh, then a fighting game gets release, dont get me wrong, i love 2d fighting games, but i was really expecting persona 5 in the style of catherine.

Akihiro and Mitsuru better be in the game. That why I can hear his winning qoute: "Did you see that shinji?!?!" lol

I still don't get how that would lead the average gear-head 360 gamer (please dont hate me GAF, you know who I speak of) to understand what persona is enough to buy a fighting game based on it. I mean, other than the giant fucking bear with a cigar and cape, of course. I'd buy anything with that on the cover.

Granted, they're probably going for a pretty target audience for this, but it just leaves me curious.

Niche titles do just as well in the U.S on Xbox as they do on PS3.

They've already confirmed Persona 5 is in development, but it'll take a while before we see it, as it's been made on a brand new internal engine

Alright, looks fantastic, assuming the PSVita can be hooked up to your HDTV or Projector, this is going to be an awesome game!

Thought the whole point of Catherine on 360 was to test out the engine for multiplat Persona 5?

i think because 360 is more popular in NA so they're trying to sell to that audience idk. PS3 makes more sense but idk what Atlus's strategy is for the 360 crowd

Why would the average PS3 gamer be any more savvy to it?

Weirdly, they're making a new engine, anyway.

http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/08/31/persona_5_engine/

Hashino shared one technical bit about P5. For Catherine, Team Persona made use of a third party engine. They've since completed work on their own engine. With this new internal engine, Hashino believes that converting their ideas into game form will go considerably smooth.

However, he warned that he expects a lengthy wait until release.

*sigh*

I understand that. I'm simply saying given that Persona 4 is in the title, most 360-only gamers are going to be confused with what Persona even is. It was easier for Catherine because it was a brand new title.

To me at least, it pretty much confirms that we'll see Persona 5 on 360 (or the next gen console, whichever comes first, I guess)

I'd like to think it's because everyone was smart and bought a PS3 at some point that played PS2 games (or just had a PS2 before a PS3), but I know that isn't the case. Atlus has had a pretty large presence on Sony consoles for a long time, chances are PS3 gamers have heard of at least Shin Megami Tensei. Xbox gamers, maybe not so much.

+1 on the fighter.

P4G maybe for me. It's a spectacular game, but I don't see too much incentive to play through it again. Maybe in like 3 years or so.

oh and I took shower Chie

But there are plenty of game from this franchise on various consoles released in North america already , if not enough then the financial sucess from P3, P3 : FES & P4 IS enough ..

Gamers don't have a short memory .. and games like that didn't start this gen .
There are plenty of gamers who've played the previous titles and for the ones that were missed , some remake, and remasters on psp ( or vita ) are already done or on the way ..

The fact that the 360 never got one is irrevellant.

The vast majority of anyone that played videogames last gen had a PS2, regardless of which console they're allied with this gen. 360 owners are not all that less likely to have heard about SMT than PS3 owners.

Granted, if BC on PS3s weren't such a fleeting and forgotten capability, maybe you'd have more of a case.
