Hey, malcontents and freaks, stop discussing waifus and husbandos right now. This isn't the community thread where you are all quarantined. Knock it off or get a vacation (where you can replay Persona 4 and creep on Rise/Chie/Yukiko until you are blue in the face!.
Jesus lol hold no punches.

I've never played Persona before, wth is everyone talking about.

I don't get it.

I guess I'll get P5 for my PS4.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't a lot of Persona games like that as well? Haven't gotten to the end in any of the games, so I wouldn't know.

They're linear for the most part so no. They certainly don't have the Chaos/Law/Neutral morality systems in place, although Persona 3's tone is very much in line with the more traditional SMT games in terms of world-ending consequences.

Yes.

Lets discuss the new MC. I really love his new design but what I like more is that determined look he has.

No. That Lucifer should never see the light of day.

Also I see mosy of the designd clashing with the already existing ones. Plus they were sprites, so they can't re-use assets. I could see few being adapted into the game though, like the Minotaur design.

I really do hope Persona 5 has a more developed social system like Persona 3. If you ignored people your social links would suffer, if you had 5 girlfriends they would find out and break the social link completely, and so on. Persona 4 on the other hand seemed designed around fulfilling completionist's neuroses.

The problem with P3 was that there was no difference between a girlfriend and a girl friend, girls would just freak out when they saw you with other girls and you'd either need to lie to them or break the link.

I raise a toast to you sir.

Bah! If you can't talk about waifus in your Persona, what's the point!? We already know the deal, group of people meet under extreme circumstances involving some protagonist, use their personas to strengthen the bonds between themselves and the world around them, and save the world from impending doom from something pulling the strings. You can only speculate so much. :P

I would think the Personae would be redone though right?

That is true, a healthy middle ground would be preferable. Although I remember one weird bit where I was hanging out with Ai and Yukiko showed up and threw a fit. Didn't encounter anything else like that, and nothing happened other than wasting my day though.

The thing with persona 3, relationships bear little weight in the actual story. Feels strange to max out Mitsuru but then barely gives a shit when
you die.

He looks a lot more mature for what ever reason. Also, just seems like someone who is more likable in the sense that characters are automatically attracted to him. Seems kinda tough but approachable.

Thank you. Even though I sarcastically posted earlier about husbandos.

Yeah, most likely.

Hopefully they'll make the art more unified. It was so bad is SMT IV, how they even chose to not use some Nocturne designs in favor of earlier designs.

Looks to me like it's just a reference to the old games. An Easter Egg. The people on it are probably stock characters, or TV stars that'll show on the in-game TV/internet/whatever. Not everyone has to be Kojima and put hidden meanings everywhere.
Hmm, I dunno. Who has those eyes/expressions in previous personas?

Trailer was great and PS4 is fantastic news!

Yeah because talking about fake video game girlfriends is waaaaaaay more interesting than this actual P5 reveal.

I actually really like the MC's look. Definitely prefer it to Yu from P4 just from a cursory glance. He's the kinda guy who rinses, lathers and most definitely repeats lol

Can't wait to see the rest of the cast. The wait for new Persona has been about perfect I think, we're all desperate to jump back in, and I hope the extra time has afforded them the opportunity to polish it up and provide more content. Always felt like Persona could use just a few more locales than the scant few in P3/4

Is that really any different from Persona 4 though? The only social links that I felt really developed throughout the game were Dojima/Nanako in terms of the game integrating that these people really care about you into the last act. Maxing out social links doesn't make any dialogue change outside of the endless comments during the last boss fights from people you have max social links with, and Persona 3 did the same thing if I remember correctly. As for the spoilered bit (persona 3 ending)
It's not really made clear that you're completely, and totally dead until the Answer

Bloodborne, Persona 5 and Uncharted 4 already on my list lol.

What kind of list is that then?

The trailer looks good. MC design is meh. Return to big city is meh too. I quite grew fond of Inaba combared to Persona 3's setting. Oh yeah and PS4 release is good news obviously. Step closer to PC release and superior option to PS3 anyway.
