Ok this might be just me imagining things but is it possible if you have higher knowledge that the highlight is automatically on the right answer? Cause I can't remember when I last moved the cursor to a different answer(had max knowledge since june and am now in september). Could also be just a coincidence but it's weird that the highlight is just randomly switching place being sometimes top/mid/bottom and coincidentally always on the correct answer.

If true, that's an incredible touch, holy shit :D

How the heck do you fight the dungeon 6 boss?
That's the casino one. If I hit her, she knocks me to 1 HP. I seem to lose everytime on the roulette too.

EDIT: Got it. For those who don't know Japanese, Google is basically a requirement for this fight.

Are negotiations the same every time you do them? I seem to be getting by them with some trial and error after a few attempts at the same demon, but I don't know if that's really the case.

Also I think negotiations are made easier if you tell a shadow you previously had in your party as a persona to give you items or give you their power. From all the videos I've watched like that, they always just did it without any hassle.

I was watching some footage on Youtube, quite briefly, because I don't want to see much, but the game is too full of UI elements. Don't know how to explain it. It's just too much style it looks like.

How are you guys feeling about this ? Do you guys get accustomed to it pretty fast?

EDit: Also, recently the bad feeling of Persona 5 not hitting it's release date came to me...

It can be a little visual-overload at times but I got used to it quick enough. I don't envy Atlus USA's graphics team though.

Anyone knows how I turn a Hierophant into an Empress arcana seems like the fusion table is different in this game? Normally it should be Hierphant + Emperor = Empress. But in this game the result is a Fate arcana.

Ok regarding something about stats this might have been already tested or confirmed for the prior games but I just tested this somewhat thoroughly for P5.
So it seems that you can gain in rare cases more than 3 stat points(beyond what shows up on the screen) + it seems hitting double item chance in the workshop gives more dexterity depending on what item you've made.

I have this confirmed because I've had my dexterity rank up to 4 only in the case of having the double item chance hit on the escape item. When it hit on the lockpicks it didn't trigger. In both cases showed 3 stat notes.

I didn't have to "get accustomed to it"; it was alright from the very beginning. The UI is functionally fine and aesthetically godlike. Nothing is hard to see or read and it's not like any of the fancy UI animations take much time.

I tried to figure out why Peronsa feels way too easy to me compared to SMT. I really like P5 (I'd give it like a 9.5/10 at this point), but the dungeon crawling every dungeon is still a bit boring compared to other rpgs because it's like walk 20 feet -> back attack enemy -> get first attack and down all normal enemies in first turn, group attack, watch battle over screen -> walk 20 feet, repeat cycle which is a bit boring and way too easy. I almost take any damage at all outside of boss fights.

I figured it out, it seems like Persona is kind of easy mode SMT in that your MC can change persona without losing his turn, because that way, no matter the enemy, MC first turn just changes to persona that hits weak points and you're good. In SMT you have to pre-pick you other 3 demons in your party before battle starts and if you want to change 1 demon out on the MC's turn, you lose the MC's turn. Also the lack of easy back attacks giving your entire party an attack before the enemies can do anything in SMT makes it a lot more challenging. I kind of wish P5 didn't have such easy to perform back attacks so much I think maybe I'm just gonna stop doing them even if it's less efficient.

I'm at the dungeon 2 last boss, on hard, probably under-leveled, and finally after maybe 25 tries defeat it. Woohoo!...
second form pops up and I nearly die from disappointment. I probably take off at most a third of his life before he turns back into painting shit and kills three out of four of the party with the all-wind attack.

Dungeon 6 as of right now, 99h05 on the clock :D

I have maxed all my human parameters, I'm glad that's done so I can focus on Coop and trophy stuff.

Can you list in spoiler tags what the absolute best thing to do for each social stat is? I feel like I'm floundering around being really inefficient even with the full list of what can possibly boost each stat from the wiki.

That's an interesting observation. I cut my teeth on the SMT III Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga and Devil Summoner games by Atlus on the PS2 back in the day, so I know what you're talking about with how unforgiving those games could be.

I don't think we'll ever go back to that in a popular series like Persona, though. That kind of brutal gameplay was fine for niche JRPG aficionados that didn't mind getting wiped out because they made one careless decision, but that's going to frustrate the majority of players these days.

I understand what you're saying though. I got the true ending in SMT III: Nocturne, so I know how brutal but rewarding those games could be.

One of the wikis has the full list of activities.
I had it trigger for Mudo and Hama
Oh, that's good to know.

Same. I don't see any problem with the amount of style it has :)

P5 fusion table.
The dialog is different each time
I think there are X variations with right answers, but I'm not sure if it's per persona or per personality.
I remember seeing the list of answers somewhere, but it was a while ago.

I've never really thought the Press Turn system was more difficult that Persona, honestly. You just have to prioritize a party build that doesn't need to change things mid-battle. Which isn't hard, the main characters in all those games are fully customization from their skills to their stats, and then we have our demons prioritize buff/debuffs.

Easy back attacks helps to limit game overs though, because getting ambushed can be a dice roll in the Press Turn games. Unless I was unlucky enough to get the MC killed in one turn though, I can't say that I've ever had any trouble with a random battle in those games. I can't say I'm sad about the loss of that honestly, but that has always been the only scary thing in random battles with how fast they are in these games.

Press Turn or One More, the systems are a lot of fun to mess around with, but they've always have been really easy to break in the players favor. I haven't played SMT1 or 2, but Strange Journey not haven't either of these systems really showed how much they let us get away with.

Thanks for the fusion table!

Hope it's ok to chime in.
The general rule is that you never want to settle for a single stat note for all activities that require time. You at least want 2 but 3 is optimal.
Playing with friends that visit you is also a great way when their Slink progression needs more favor points. You usually get 2-3 stats + 3 favor.
Generally studying at the famires is pretty good until you max knowledge. Do not overshoot on charisma cause star and devil links give quite a bit probably enough to get to rank 3 maybe even close to rank 4 without ever doing anything else for it.
In general it's wise to plan Slink points into your progression.
(Hanged Man: Dexterity, Hierophant: Kindness, Star: Knowledge, probably forgetting a few.)

Also there are a few things that can give you points without spending time:
- Sunday drink stand
- Television quiz
- Caring for your plant(buy the material from the Shinjuku flower shop for max payoff)

Probably forgetting a few right now.

Also Temperance Slink helps out a lot if you have it maxed for more free time especially the free time school lessons are good to progress through books especially when you unlock the Jimbocho bookstore which sells the speed reading book after you read 3 books that the shop sells that up your courage, kindness and charisma(each requires 3 sessions).

If true, that's an incredible touch, holy shit :D

October third I had to change the highlight seems like it was a weird coincidence.

Thanks for the fusion table!

Hope it's ok to chime in.

Well, I was already doing most of that besides some of the co-op specific stuff, so I guess I wasn't being as inefficient as I thought.

I'd never settle for one social stat pip from a single activity (unless it cost no time like the
drinks, quiz, plant
, etc)

Thanks for the info on some of the co-op specific stuff.

Uh, I can't believe I forgot about the
bookstore
, I unlocked that place months ago and never visited it, despite running out of books.

Also, didn't know that
meeting friends who come to your place during summer holidays
raised stats, now I feel stupid (always had more important stuff to do though!)

Still in the 3rd , looking forward to reach the 4th next week.

When i said that it changed i meant that you can't pick a different choice the next time you see the same shadow/persona and expect to see every variation. There is obviously a randomised pattern.

Finally got my time limit and free reign to run around in the first dungeon. I really hope the tutorials are mostly behind me, they slow me down so much translating them.

Fusion animation is pretty brutal lol. Negotiation is new to me but I've succeeded far more often than not so far. First ones are probably easy though.

Jumping around from cover point to cover point is as fun as you would think it would be.

From the compendium I didn't see it but, (arcana spoilers)
i guess there are no aeon personas this time around? I'm going to miss Kaguya if true

to those who have finished the game, is the ending as satisfying (and the story overall as good) as P3 and P4? I don't want any spoilers, just a yes/no.

"You made friends with Yosuke, Yosuke will now DIE for you" was stupid from a storytelling perspective but it sure made not dying easier

I thought it's a deadly blow to the MC and not the character protecting you, those guys can survive. It's more like they save you from dying and maybe have one hit point left.

For negotiations, there's one tutorial which you have to check in the menu (for whatever reason) unlocked later, which tells you what types of answers to give to each personality type.
I tweeted photos of the tutorial in question here.

Unexpectedly, classes are canceled today (notified by e-mail an hour before class starts, after I'm already about to leave for campus, ugh), so I guess I'll go to school in-game instead.

How's the difficulty compared with to SMTs? Persona 4 and Devil Summoner 2 were too easy, Strange journey, Nocturne and Devil Survivor pretty fucking rough and Persona 3 and both DDS games moderate if not hard-ish.

There is a limited number of questions the demon can ask. There are more then two, but you do get asked the same question often enough. Also I think for the same demon the same answer always gives the same result. Conversations here are a lot easier than in mainline SMT. And I think once you get the demon once you can skip the whole negotiation phase by refusing to negotiate.

Dunno about if you go ng+ with max stats but in a fresh playthrough the Fate Slink rank 7 seems pretty much mandatory if you want to get at least close to having most slinks maxed out.
