Shouta, how long would you say the final dungeon is? I'm currently on
December 10th
or something like this and I'm wondering if it's possible to finish the game in 4-5 hours, given that I'm high level enough that I don't have to grind in Mementos anymore.

4-5 hours won't be enough, I think.

I was initially skeptical about dungeon size and complexity from a floor plan/square footage point of view, since the old games got that essentially for little/no effort. But after getting my first
zelda dungeon map
in the first dungeon and considering how much time I have been in there already I don't think I have anything to worry about.

Regarding Futaba's Persona second form appearance:
Jeeeesus does it look bad.... like it's a ball with really shitty textures. Surprised me a little bit how bad it looked.
Oh well maybe it does look better in action but I guess RIP Necronomicon
There's not just one kind. Each different one is a fusion treasure mine for different stuff. The first one in the game back in dungeon 2 has every element's tier 1 all-enemy-target damage spell, for example.
That super nice. Hope I can get one that has all absorb or null even better if it gets saved in the persona compendium.

Very nice, got 72.050 XP (but only 3.750 Money) for killing (boss spoiler)
The "reaper"
in (boss location)
Memento dungeon.

Tough decision now...do I stay here and farm this over and over, or not...I'll go sleep first, decision tomorrow :p

So, I heard that the game had
no true ending, it was just the normal and bad endings and the challenge mode would be future DLC

Is it true?
I just want to know that, no spoilers please

According to all the wikis, yes. Confirmed by datamining the PS3 version.

When I did that yesterday, I didn't expect it to give that much exp. Grinded a bit, but stopped before I was so strong that it would totally break the game.

Got my first game over

I got one mored Twice by this ennemy and my MC Hp went to 0 .

And i hadn't saved in 1+ hour.

Goddamit.
This kills my momentum

Don't mind. That's only 30 minutes longer than my biggest time loss and my momentum wasn't affected. You've got this :).

NO i've realised i hadn't saved when i got bck from seeing igor and i need to fuse back my personas , i guess it'll go faster the second time...but i need to sleep . i wish i could have taken A week of holidays to play this game non stop.

Is there any penalty for retrying after wiping during event battles on normal? Just died during an event battle in the 3rd dungeon and it let me restart the battle without booting me back to my last save point.

Can I ask you guys at which level you were to be able to beat him?
I only met him once and got destroyed by him, while only dealing about 20 damage a turn.

So what are the limitations for dungeon exploring at one time? Is it SP like P4?

Pretty much. The first 2 dungeons force you out on a few occasions, but you are generally free to power through the Treasure Route after that for the rest. SP regen items can also be purchased at Rank 5/7 for the Death arcana.

I guess there's also limited ammo (unless you can pick up ammo-replenishing items later?) but that's way less important than SP.

Challenge mode is unlocked after new game+ and there seems to be no "true ending" but the ending is a final as it can be.

I dont understand this design...

The games are designed to be extremely padded and unnecessarily lengthy because of stuff like this.

What? They force you out to show a cutscene, progress the story etc. but when you go back in you're usually in the exact place you left. It's not like it's making the dungeon longer, just takes 1 more in game day.

Regarding the ammo later in the game:
(Item spoiler)
You can craft a backup magazine, but it takes quite a lof ot resources, so far I've been able to make maybe 3
(SL skill spoiler)
The
Tower
SL has a passive skill which gives everyone more (double?) bullets.

Yeah someone was complaining about Morgana stopping you from doing stuff when they don't let want you to do stuff before you sleep... that gets really irritating...

Question because I dunno if it got answered. Are you limited to being romantically involved with one person, or would the previous person get overwritten by the next, etc?

Need to know cause I'm starting to get close.

I think that's my biggest gripe with the out of dungeon part of P5. When the story gets going it gets going and usually after school meetings and conversations span over multiple days - it's really annoying that you can't do anything in the evenings, because... reasons? Damn you, Morgana, I talked with 2 people, I'm not tired. :<

From what I've seen on one site, there's one event where the girls would acknowledge that there's someone else but there are no real demerits. It also mentions that you can choose your true love, whatever that means (in the end, maybe?).

It is similar to P4. You can romance everyone. Just be prepared to be reminded of how bad of a person you are on Valentine's.

So is the game good? Don't want to read too closely in case of spoilers.
Might be one of my favorite games ever (still not finished after 100+ hours, close to the end) and I found P3 and P4 to be super tedious both in and out of dungeons.

Not a penalty I think, but I felt like I definitely noticed a drop in difficulty a few times.

Speaking of dungeons and SP, is there a SP recovery option like in P3/4 where you could trade money for HP/MP at the dungeon entrance and not pass time? Or am I limited to items?

I'm about 4-5 safe rooms in and don't see it being possible to get much farther without more SP.

No SP recovery option that I've seen so far. Instead just rush the shinigami coop to 5/7 as soon as you can and you'll be able to buy accessories that
regen 7 sp per turn
. I had my full party equipped with those by the 3rd dungeon and was able to stay in the dungeon forever.

That in combination with ranking the sun arcana coop lets you farm money at almost a game-breaking rate.

I think I unlocked all SPs and checked all/most of their skills - no HP/SP recovery anyway, wikis don't mention it too unless I missed something. Go for the SP accessories.

You played Tales of Berseria and really liked that, right? It probably isn't really close to P5, but if you had to compare them, like if P5 was a 10, I'm wondering what you'd give Berseria? Just to compare Tales of's current quality to Persona/SMT's.

I'm glad you and many others like Shouta really are loving P5. Unfortunately my Japanese isn't good enough that I could get much out of it with the small amount of free time I could devote to it. We'll be waiting while you fluent Japanese speakers have fun :'(... Lol XD

Hmm, I hope maxing the social links on one run is still possible. Thanks to the late west release I'd imagine we'll have guides for that sort of stuff almost day one, too, if it is.

If not, there's an NG+ mode, right? What carries over?

e: looks like Hasema just posted that when I was writing my post lol, but unfortunately I don't know any Japanese, so... Could someone translate?

I think all crafted items are in that category (and the infinite pick is also a usable item, which can be used infinite number of times), so I would assume so.

I think maxing all of them is impossible when playing without a plan or at least knowing what abilities to get (some let you not waste time on crafting/have real life activities in the evenings after dungeons/increase the rate SLs progress). Knowing efficient ways to raise stats without wasting much time is also a must, because of high requirements for starting/progressing certain SLs.

It's still an item you
or your lovely teacher
have to make, so it's not really the same as the fox in P4, right? (I unlocked it, but never used it myself)

It still functions the same though, even if it has different reqs.

Unfortunately yeah, but with maxed human stats you have a lot more free time. Also in case anyone didn't know, you can still thief items on nights before boss fights

For me the difference is that if I could recover SP for money in the dungeon, I could stay there forever - respawn enemies, get money, recover SP, repeat. Curry and coffee require preparation and that's what I meant by saying there's no way to recover SP with money in the dungeons themselves. :)

The reason why I was glad I got the infinite lockpick was because I was tired of going for the last ~2 chests on the night before the boss fight, because the alertness level rises to 99%, you can't get it down to less than 80% iirc and this leads to enemies respawning right after defeating them, which was annoying.

Yeah, after experiencing that in the first dungeon and getting killed a few times I made sure to get them before sending the letter.

Going through my second playthrough with Sandalphon and the 激昂 knife equipped tho lmao

Also question for anyone with the digital LE: there are no track names on the soundtrack songs for me, but is that normal?

Can I ask you guys at which level you were to be able to beat him?
I only met him once and got destroyed by him, while only dealing about 20 damage a turn.
I was level 56/55,and 61/60 after the fight.
However this how I beat him: (really easy way)
I went into Mementos when there was an outbreak of flu in the air. It makes enemies sometimes begin the fight in despair. You just then wait 3 turns in which the boss doesn't do anything and dies by itself.
Just flee if he's not in despair as he'll reappear immediately, giving you another try.

65 (or 67) after the fight, but I used the same strategy. The whole time I was wondering if they made it possible on purpose or was it an omission and it will be patched, lol.
I normally would feel bad but it's either that or 10 hours of farming in Mementos/story dungeons for 1/10 if not less the reward and with the end in sight I don't really feel like farming for hours.

Am I the only one who finds Futaba completely insufferable? She's annoyed me to the point that I am going to take a breather for a week or so from the game. Nobody in P4/P3 was this grating, IMO.

I honestly don't know how some of you guys can progress very fast... I've been playing for more than 40 hours and I haven't even reached the third dungeon... I thought I'd find it today but instead I got a new mission at Mementos... I think it's 6/17 in the game calendar!!!

Sadly, I have to sleep and go to work in the lab...

She's my least favorite member of the cast and my girlfriend who sometimes watches me play complained about that yesterday as well. Backstories aside, I can definitely see what type of a character the creators where aiming for and I bet she'll have the biggest fandom out of the female cast.

You're looking at 100+ hours to clear the whole thing if you're not rushing and will try to be at the appropriate level for each dungeon, just take your time.
I had a whole week of, most of which I spent on playing P5 and I'm not done yet, haha.
