SE releasing a AAA game with genre overlap that people all over the world have been anticipating for 13 years that they will also probably ironically re-release not long after as an "international version" in Japan only with some extras and still be able to count on double dipping isn't the same thing as Atlus

Eh, maybe the date it's an indicator about how huge is the game, but I suspect that the editing is the real problem here, add the fact to having to debug the PS3 and the PS4 versions.
I really was not expecting a better date due to #FE and SMT IV Apocalypse, both are heavy text games, and P5's script is arguably huger.
So I guess SMT IV A and Zero Time Dilemma will be my GOTY game this year, don't bad.

I'm hyped as hell for the game but I actually don't mind the 2017 release. Although I'm completely disappointed that Atlus couldn't do a SMTIV and release it a month after the JP release. I'm still wondering how they can pull it off but then, they can't on their biggest game release in a long time.
With that said, can I please have Etrian Odyssey V in 2016 then? Pretty please!

i'd already started to wonder last fall just how much of the original (likely waaay over-ambitious) vision of this game is now getting trimmed to simply make any release date at this point. because it's felt like atlus has really been struggling over the last year+ to nail down this game...

The answer is the same as always, "we hear you, we're working on it".
And by working on it, they mean they'll think about looking for a publisher once they've released it in America.
They moved Morgana because the ESRB label is bigger than the CERO one. Duh.

You can understand why we might not trust Atlus at all right now.
The steelbook art isn't final, and in fact, the Amazon listing explicitly says the actual steelbook art hasn't been shown yet.
