Yup. Like I say, I think we'll hear/see something of Dancing All Night within January.
Still waiting on Atlus USA to confirm P4A2 for the US.

Still waiting on Atlus USA to confirm P4A2 for the US.
As you can imagine, this isn't exactly something I'm waiting on.
Still waiting on Atlus USA to confirm P4A2 for the US.
Waiting much longer.
Just kidding! It won't come out in EU!
Do you like fighting game Dantis?
I can't play fighting game myself, but I like to watch other people playing!
P4A especially fun to watch for me.
I literally will not care one iota if it doesn't come out here.
Absolutely zero interest.
Oh please. You'll piss and moan for months on end.
It doesn't even matter if you want the game. You'll do it on principle.

Hello there, everyone! I'm the director of Persona 3, Katsura Hashino!
Today, we're going to talk about the stages of development the game's system went through during development.
When we were developing Persona 3, we were aiming to make a battle system that focused on the main themes of the game. The engine we were developing was very similar to the final product. It was focused on battles, dungeons, and events. This battle system went through four revisions, until it was finalized.
Now, we can show what past revisions of this battle system we're like. Persona 3 was developed with new "game rules" in mind, to be more accessible for new players. We made many adjustments to the field view, and encounters during development.
In the video shown below, you can see a distinct manga style in the interface. This was made to keep true to the series' image, while also creating its own unique style. The design staff most certainly went through trial and error to make a fitting interface for the game.
I don't want to keep any of you waiting anymore, so please enjoy the demo movie below here!
[Demo Movie Here]
[After Demo Movie #1]
I wonder if that was a good idea to show to everyone...
The final version was not so different. I am surprised in how similar it is to the final version in some aspects, even with its differences.
Now, I will also show a demo of a battle as it takes place on the field.
Due to issues with memory, we were unable to make the battle system as portayed in the video.
You can view it below, here.
[Demo Movie #2 Here]
[After Demo Movie #2]
So, as you can see, those were some short glimpses into what the final product's image could have possibly been.
In my next development blog post, I will continue showcasing the development of the game's system.
By all means, please take a look when it's ready.
Until then...
-Katsura Hashino
Unfortunately, this is all stuff I'd already found and done! But I welcome anything that gets us closer to finding text.
Files that are just PNG(s) (and what I've done with them):
ADDBIN.BIN (unused image data, stored at the back end of ID values in the CPK)
advcg.bin (NPC talk prompt)
bingo.bin (Bingo GUI)
bj.bin (Blackjack GUI, translated)
bt_menu.bin (Battle menus, translated)
btef.bin (Battle GUI, cursors)
ca_cmn.bin (Casino GUI with text, translated)
ca_face.bin (Character faces for casino GUI)
ca_hlp.bin (Casino help GUI, translated)
card.bin (All the Persona card images, doesn't need to be touched)
card.bin (Another casino card game)
ch_menu.bin (Character status stuff, translated)
cm_menu.bin (Another menu, three images untranslated)
credit.bin (Image underlays for the endgame credits, two images untranslated)
cut_in.bin (Typical Persona face cut-ins for battle)
datapack.bin (Two images; one is a font table, but both are bit-identical between P2 versions)
dunchar.bin (Main character dungeon sprites)
edit.bin (Four images untranslated)
entry.bin (Two unimportant images)
exresult.bin (Battle result GUI)
gallerycg.bin (Cutscene gallery thumbnails)
img_bunner.bin (Banners for overworld shops, translated)
img_shop.bin (Shop GUI, untranslated)
img_velvet.bin (Velvet Room GUI, translated)
kiyaku.bin (Terms of use for the quest editor probably)
m_ef gim files (fog overlays)
map_w.bin (Map stuff, no translation needed)
poker.bin (duh)
result.bin (Result stuff, one image untranslated)
slot.bin (heh)
ss pngs (Spaceships; test images probably)
syscg.bin (Font tables)
titlecg.bin (Title screen GUI, basic translation done)
Files that definitely contain text:
CD_SHOP.BIN (Shop dialogue and procedure tables)
event.bin (Strongly suspect this is archived text files, no idea how to make them sing)
F_BE.BNP (Some battle event text)
And the decrypted eboot, which contains Persona names, names for the credits, etc. as well as the ISO load order)
Many of the BNP files are visual overlay effects (fusion, minimaps, etc), but some seem to also contain text or game logic. I haven't been over them with a comb.
I've also made an ordered list of the files by their ID in the CPK (attached), which corresponds to their location offset in the CPK. It's clear from the list which files are logically grouped together, even though some contents are still a mystery.
Amazing how the EPP arranges range from 'same thing with updated synth' to 'oh my god that saxophone'.
Awesome stuff. You need to make an iOS wallpaper of chibi!Junpei as soon as a clean version of his official art comes out. I would use it so hard.
I don't have my work files here with me, so you'll have to wait until this weekend for the Fuuka and Rise iOS wallpapers, but in the meantime I did add them to my avatar collection:
Fuuka Yamagishi
The complete set (so far) can be viewed here. Enjoy!
This portrait always baffles me. How the hell is that eyepatch even staying on his face?
Which tracks specifically are changed significantly? Most of the ones I've heard are just updated versions, like you say.
Persona Q's official site was updated with character profiles for Fuuka and Rise, along with new trailers for Mitsuru and Yosuke. That Fuuka one is adorable and I'd be very tempted to take if I was not waiting for the Aigis one.
"Great Evil" is the one that immediately comes to mind for me. The EPP version has a very nice pseudo-chorus in it and one of the few tracks I like from the remake soundtrack.
Both look adorable. Haters can hate on the PQ artwork all they want. I shall listen to it right now.
I... I don't know how to read this post, you are scaring me
I was just poking fun at you accidentally typing "Mitsuo" instead of "Mitsuru" is all.
I'm sorry that it wasn't funny.
Kyle Herbert knocked it out of the markonce I heard Mitsuo's voice, I wasn't sure if I wanted him to yell HADOUKEN or go on about using drills to pierce the heavens
either way it's a little unsettling lol
Soul Hackers is amazing
3 hours in and i'm having a lot of fun, though demon negotiation is garbage.
Kyle Herbert knocked it out of the mark
He did a great job at conveying this psychotic, self absorbed, arrogant person. The desperation in his voice is almost palpable.
Are you talking about the actual game OST or the separate remix album? If it's the latter I would also take a look at the arrangement of Everyday.
Off topic, but I finally snagged "At the Edge of Time." after procrastinating for so long. Wheel of Time has dethroned " Age of False Innocence" as my favorite Blind Guardian song.
It's weird how some of the VA is great while others are hilariously bad *cough*Chie*cough*.

How on Earth is she bad?
How on Earth is she bad?
I really liked herIt's weird how some of the VA is great while others are hilariously bad *cough*Chie*cough*.
I feel like she's just trying too hard, and I don't like how she pronounces certain words in a sentence.
Maybe I'm just used to her original voice.
I skipped every single one of Chie's lines, it got on my nerves.
I really liked her
Erin puts her all into voicing, and that really shines through during certain scenes (S.link,. On the other hand, sometimes she ends up putting too much effort into mundane lines, which comes across as sounding weird/goofy. But all in all, she's a solid actress. There's a reason why Atlus constantly uses her.Namatame confrontation scene
The actual OST. My favourite tracks on the Arrange album are Maya's Theme and Parabellum II, which literally just sounds like a track pulled from Catherine.
Glad you're liking At The Edge of Time! Wheel of Time is amazing, but I really like Control The Divine, Curse My Name and War of The Thrones though. Excellent album overall though.
I saw them play Wheel of Time live. It was quite the thing.
Are there any Erin Fitzgerald voiced games that you have played? She's been in pretty much nearly everything recently, Fire Emblem Awakening (loved her performance as Emmeryn), Tales of Xillia, Dragon's Crown, Bravely Default and more.
She can't be that bad, can she?=/

Yep
She's got a damn good voice range
I thought she was absolutely terrible.

Erin's voice work is also a lot more faithful to the Japanese version. I know that Atlus voice directors doesn't force their VAs to copy japanese VAs anymore, but in spite of that, I think Erin conveys a similar tone.Shocking.
Erin matched the enthusiasm of the character far and above better than Tracy did. Everything about Chie's character is inflated--she's generally full of excitement, boisterous, and very animated. The character's enthusiasm shines through more in Erin's performance. It also makes the dramatic scenes stand out more because the character isn't on the exact same wavelength in terms of tone the entire time.
I've played through vanilla P4 3 times, and only a few hours into Golden and I think Erin is far better.
