So uh, Dojima gives you
the Christmas Costumes
. I mean, we all know about the trunks and how odd that was, but there's something about a guy Dojima's age handing Yukiko
that red slip
that just seems, um, off.

And a reindeer costume designed for a mascot suit for some reason.

So I finished the last two bosses of P4G last night. A few thoughts/questions.

Spoilering all of it just in case.

1) I don't mind Marie. I haven't finished her dungeon yet, but still. Is it really that much harder than every other? I have all social links completely done (second persona transformation) on everyone but Yosuke.

2) When I go to get the true ending... This spoiler free guide says not to return home but to talk with everyone I had a max social link with. Is Dojima available outside of the house on that day then?

3) There's a new game plus, yes? Do you keep anything from the first playthrough?

Thanks!

Yes. If you don't do that, you don't get the True Ending.

Edit: More accurately:
after speaking with everyone else, I believe he's available to talk to at the riverbank along with Nanako.

It's not like the Inaba Police Department had crimes to solve or something.

To answer two and three:
Yes, Dojima and Nanako will be at the riverbank, and New Game Plus mode lets you keep your money, social link items, social stats, costumes, and the status of your Persona compendium/skill cards. Do not return home under any circumstances or you'll miss out on the true ending.

Do you keep unlocked costumes in NG+?

1.) It's just annoying, especially if you dun goofed and forgot to pack break skills.

2. Dojima and Nanako should be at the Flood Plain.

3. Yes. You keep your cash, costumes and compendium. You also unlock difficulty modifiers that change cash and experience distribution as well as damage modifiers. As a final note you can unlock a Bonus Boss to fight if you defeat all the Shadows that pop up in the boss rooms before December 23rd and max the
Empress
Social Link. On the final day of that run you have to
go back into the Velvet Room right after snagging the orb of sight.

I don't think there's a single Dojima question that can't be answered with this.

1) The problem with her dungeon is that it being optional means that they can't make it a normal leveling up dungeon. In the end, its one based on a gimmick that strips you of your equipment and such

2) What Flux said

3) Yes. What carries over is...
Items from completing social links (let you make highest Person in that arcana)
Social stats
Weapon shop catalog
Compendium
Money
Costumes
Some think progress for Hardcore Risette fan trophy carries over, but thats unconfirmed
I am probably forgetting something, but thats most of it

Between Ichigo's dad in Bleach, Maka's dad in Soul Eater, the dad in FLCL, and Dojima, it's safe to say that weird, pervy dad is a Japanese trope.

A Gold Hand just got enemy advantage on me. I might as well get rid of my Vita, because I clearly suck at this game.

HOW. IT RUNS AWAY FROM YOU.

It's happened to me more times than I care to admit. Generally it's because I wind up misjudging the angle it turns at and collide right into its' side.

What's it say? :3

It's difficult to translate while keeping the charm of the phrase intact. From what I read on NicoNico's Internet dictionary, the phrase 「 リア充爆発しろ!」 is a phrase directed out of jealousy at people who seem to be leading happily, fulfilling lives when the speaker is dissatisfied with their own. Basically they feel like the other person is being so smug by being happy and content and they wish they'd stop doing that.

Literally it means "Go blow up, you satisfied person you!" but that's obviously really awkward. You could just say, "Go blow up, you smug asshole!" but then it loses the obtuse charm of the original phrasing.

A lot of Japanese Internet slang is like that: comprehensible on a literal level, but very difficult to replicate well in English. The overseas chan boards don't really have the same sort of meme culture when it comes to just popularizing phrases specifically, so I can't think of a good analog myself. Either way, I'd say it's a very fitting thing for Yosuke to say knowing his character. ;D

The Buddha is merely about to achieve enlightenment and leave Samsara for all time. This is a sight to be celebrated.

I shall help you in this glorious transition, friend.

Question: How indicative of the full game is the first hour and a half of Persona 3? This is my first Persona game, but I really have not enjoyed being in control of my character for 5 minutes during the first 1 1/2 hours of the game. Does that change?

Yes. 3 & 4 both have freakishly long intros, but it does open up eventually. 4's is even longer! Pays off though. :D

You have to keep in mind that this is a 70-80 hour game, so it most certainly is not indicative of the full experience.

You'll get full control after about two to three hours. The game will even inform you of this as a tutorial prompt will let you know when you can spend your time freely from that point onward.

Keep with it until the Monorail event, at least. Persona 3 is a game that takes awhile to fully ramp up, but it's worth it for the ending.
