Yes, however P4A was first announced for localization only 18 days (teased after 13) after it was announced for a Japanese console release, with barely any information out for it as well.
And while symbolism is nice and all a lot of then are fucking horrid. Polydeuces? Castor? Susano-O? Any of Teddie's atrocious Personas? I could go on, but a lot of them are just really bad despite the few gems he's designed. I really do not want a whole persona roster of his designs because the chances of bad ones just becomes larger and larger.
I just got Akihiko in my Persona 3 FeMC playthrough, and Polydeuces is pretty awful looking, haha.
So far in P3P I'm enjoying FeMC more than MaMC, guys. Male MC is okay, but I really enjoy that FeMC has a social link with Junpei, because right after Junpei does that
stunt on the train
you get to find out that
Junpei's dad was a violent drunk
and it really helped explain that. But in general the Junpei SLink has been really nice, because contrary to Yukari's constant harping, Junpei is actually a really nice guy, and he hasn't made like, a single advance on FeMC the entire SLink, going so far as to offer to help her if she wanted to find some other guy to hook up with.
Meanwhile Male MC I feel like the game's sort of constantly reminding me that Makoto doesn't have a girlfriend because of the Kenji SLink. Kenji's like "Man I am so glad to have a girlfriend like you!" or "Wow having a girlfriend is GREAT innit?" and all the people around school are like "HEY CONGRATS ON JUMPING YUKARI'S BONES." and all I can think is "Gosh, Yukari's really, really mean to Junpei."
Also I hate the camera angle inside Tartarus. It feels like it's too high up so sometimes I kinda walk right into shadows because they blend right in with the floor. If I could swing the camera down a bit, I think I wouldn't have that problem so much.
Husbando rankings are thus for now: Theo > Akihiko. Kinda sad that Akihiko doesn't have his shirt and vest combo in Arena, cuz I like that style of costume anyway. Since I assume FeMC and Theo are never seen again I'm betting they elope at the end of the game.
Been watching the P4 anime this week and I don't think I can hold it. Probably gonna start my New Game + today. All I can think about while I watch that anime is "Man I can't wait to max ALL the Social Links this time around!" The fights are rad but the faces are weird. Especially Kanji's face. Naoto's voice is noticeably different and so far not for the better.
That's right; we probably know as much about PQ as we do P4U2 (though a bit more about P4U2 since it's already playable).
It's gonna be weird. I think that P4U2's gonna be the first announced for localization since it's a fighting game and I could imagine something approximating a simultaneous release for it being a priority just like the first game was. They also mentioned how all of the Japanese voice work was done for the game back in November.
But then there's the fact that PQ will most likely be releasing in Japan before P4U2.
Because his work isn't as renown as Kaneko's or even Tadashi's. He brought all the pieces together, but I think the pre-P3 games would not be what they were without his influence.
Also, he's kind of fallen off the map, last I heard Gaia was pretty much done as a company.

I remember seeing a picture of him recently at some developer get-together, but I'll be damned if I ain't forgotten where and when it was. He looks skinny now...

Did he part with Atlus on good terms? It seems like usually once luminaries leave (and I'm not saying I don't think better of Atlus) that's it; they're out and therefore what they would've wanted or even respected, creatively is irrelevant from there on out. We've seen this in practice with Capcom/Resident Evil and Tecmo/Ninja Gaiden.
Everyone seems to swear by P2's story. I really enjoyed the limited taste of it I've had so far, so I'm perfectly willing to take everyone's word that it's phenomenal. I think if you take that plot and wrap it around something that's better to actually play through, you end up with a winner.
Besides I don't think removing something like negotiations disrespects anyone's legacy. It's an SMT holdover and Persona is not SMT. The thing you need most is the story, which I'm assuming would go untouched.

I am not too sure actually...Satomi Tadashi sure did, they still mention him in the credits of all things he is related to, the P1 and 2 ports and all. He came back for the P2IS and P2EP ports to write new content, and in P4A, Satomi and Tadashi are words you can use for your 3 word title. Okada has had none of that :/

Probably not. Nocturne didn't do too hot, and Hashino salvaged it with Maniacs. I loved the game, but I really can't picture it without the added Fiend and Lucifer content.

Well, that was an Okada Thing. So taking them out kind of would, yeah. The gameplay really isn't that bad. There's a lot of random battles, but you can get out of most of them in seconds when you have the contacts memorized(or use a FAQ, which you should). With Interest, the enemies give you cards and leave, have a nice day.
Like I've said, it's no more unplayable than something like FFVI or Chrono Trigger.
My three favorite SMT games are directly the result of Okada's influence(Soul Hackers, EP, Nocturne), so I think it's easy to see why I hold him in such high regard.

Well, Yamai directed Maniacs, whereas Hashino went on to be Planning Director for DDS1. I wouldn't be shocked if a fair amount of the Maniacs content was made under Hashino before being scrapped though, given how smoothly it integrated with the base game.
As to what's he's up to I don't know really know, Kaneko has pretty much kinda of fallen off the radar at ATLUS. He was involved in SMT:IV, but was just a scenario writer from I remember. There have been some rumors flying around about him working on a new project that would be a new spin off for the series. As to whether it's true or not is anyone's guess at this point.
Or he is their official Decarabia plushie tester.....
Not even close to being true, as has been established time and time again.
Putting P2's trivially elementary yet painstakingly over-elaborate battle mechanics and frustrating overworld traversal on the same level as Chrono Trigger might actually be literally insane.

If it was an actual world to explore instead of a blue pointer thing, that would have been cool. Just moving a marker across the screen though? Nah, shit is wack.

The last tangible thing we know of was the light novel art I posted before, and it still puts the stuff in both Devil Survivors to shame. I'd play a game starring this cast.

I didn't really think of P2's cursor stuff as an overworld, really. It was more like... map traversal.
What was so special about P2's traversal, though? It was the same thing as P3 or 4 with giving you a zoomed out perspective of the city when travelling to different zones and you pushed around a cursor along streets to visit stores or talk to people. If anything, P3 and 4 are a lot more advanced on that front since, you know, you're not represented by an abstract green arrow.
