Rather have p2 overworld than getting lost in smt iv tokyo. halp
Oh man yeah. All I know about Tokyo's layout now is that I would never ever want to be there when the Apocalypse struck.
"Yeah this is one street over from your current location but you actually need to head in the opposite direction and then to the far end of town to find the subway tunnel that leads to an area directly north of where you want to go so that you can go through the Sector 7 Ruins so you can come out at the wrong place anyway."
Worst part is random encounters though. "It's a surprise attack!" Wonderful.
He's in Trauma Center, too. Derek's a devil summoner, you heard it here first.

How about that Naoto?
"You should be playing it with a FAQ" is an implicit admition that P2's gameplay is borked.
Come on, guys.
She's the 'coolest' P4 character and in terms of visual design I feel like she's the best, but man, she was not handled very well as either a part of the investigation dynamic or in terms of her character arc (for the most part). How about that Naoto?
Meh.
I didn't need no FAQ for Persona 2 back in the day! Gosh!
Quiet Rise fan
At the same time, I don't think I would have survived P2IS without that spoiler-free guide.
Those fucking trap doors.

I, uh, fully agree.I mean, it's fine. The FAQ you guys gave me is very good and I'll keep using it if I ever get back to the game, but you don't get to say how people should be using a FAQ to play and then proceed to say the game is no worse than Chrono Trigger or FFVI.
...says Sophia while adjusting her hipster glasses and tilting her fedora at the screen
Like I've said, it's no more unplayable than something like FFVI or Chrono Trigger.

.... I don't actually have hipster glasses. They're the round nerdy Harry Potter-esque ones. D:

Pfft, it's all about the square frames

I didn't see a denial of that fedora totting
...
...
O:
I'd probably use a FAQ for the old FF games, to be fair.
Not to say I have a fedora, but what girl doesn't have at least a few hats?
Not bad for ten minutes! My art would be a right mess if I only spent ten minutes on it, haha.
Neat! PersonaGAF has so many capable artists.
Do you by any chance have a tumblr or a deviantart account?
Thank You Dai, can we all just agree to disagree and more on from this because this is getting way out of hand. If you don't like P2, fine, but at least respect the other person's opinion who like the game for what it is.This thread, suddenly:
If you don't like some of the mechanics in P2, that's fine, but don't pretend it's objective garbage.
You don't need one. But it sure helps. I try to minimize people's frustration with it as best I can.
It's not like you need one for where to go and what to do. Just for resources.
Games where you have no idea what to do without one(hi Snatcher), that's a problem.

It sounds like you know the games are designed in a way that's problematic. That's good enough for me.
It's you though!
If there's any series of RPGs that doesn't need an FAQ, it's the older FF games. Especially FFIV (straightforward and a bit linear) and FFVI (easiest of the classic games)
Persona fans are such a split community. Just learn to accept that this is a series which is really fragmented. In my opinion, minus Persona 1, they are all great games with their own merits and charms. Obviously 3 and 4 have way more streamlined mechanics with faster battles and no fucking tarot cards but the cast of Persona 2 and storyline are really great. And I honestly find the gameplay charming and really love how customisable the auto battle options are.
So many newer fans seem to feel the need to trash the game, I really don't get it. Just leave it be. No one is forcing you to like it if you tried it and you don't. It's still an important part of the Persona games' history though.
I enjoy aspects of it but I think it's aged really, really badly. I don't ever feel the need to play through it again and don't think I'd really enjoy to either. Much rather to do P2.hey bud p1 is baller ill have you know

This is basically video games as a whole.
Problematic for some, not for me. I have resources for those people.
It's pretty much any medium as a whole.
Looks like I've opened a whole other can of wormsI'll fight you.
Just kidding, but I probably consider P1 the most fun to play. Different strokes for different folks.
