Chie is the worst waifu
PersonaGAF, last night I had a prophetic dream about the reveal of Persona 5!
Atlus USA was planning to announce it at a special event, but the event had to be cancelled because of the weather and they ended up handing out xeroxed flyers with the announcement on it, including promotional artwork. Apparently this was because copiers are relevant to the plot somehow.

that is what i get for reading gaf while watching season 2 of madmen where they get he copier

Are you sure you didn't take too much cough syrup before going to bed?

I have the standard version of TLOU pre-ordered, probably one of the last pre-orders I ever get. After Colonial Marines, never again.

What about Persona 5?

Am I alone in not really pre-ordering anything anymore? Just don't see much of a point to it, unless you get something good for doing so.

Honestly, if you like doing something, I wouldn't let Aliens be the game to stop you from it. That's such a rare, one-in-a-million instance of a studio being so crooked.

Obviously pre-ordering games is no big deal, but I don't think I'd feel good punishing the industry at large because Randy Piychford is an asshole.

I only preorder stuff that I'm worried they won't get enough copies of, which has almost never been the case around here. Special editions I like to order too.
Other than that, preordering is pointless these days unless the bonus is good, and even then, most times it's packed in every copy of the first run.
Oh and if there's a deal on ore-ordering. Although there was that time I preordered Pokemon white 2 because there was a deal and forgot about it. Then it sat in my shelf shrink wrapped for months until I forgot it was my little cousins birthday and have it to her.
I have no interest in the last of us, but I'm willing to bet there will be a billion copies around.

For me at this point it was just a reminder that there's not a lot of point in doing it, especially for digital distribution.

This is seriously one of the most annoying songs ever, it's like a cheap 80's porno soundtrack.

As for Persona 5, it would depend on the bonus's.

It's not because I'm worried I won't be able to get it day 1, I just feel like I should support Naughty Dog.

So, I just beat
Ameno-Sagiri
in P4G. I don't know if it's because I was under leveled or not but that was one of them most intense fights I ever faced in a RPG.

Speaking of Alan Wake, it's on sale at the humble bundle right now. Includes the DLC and American Nightmare too, so there's no excuse not to own it! :D

That fight always gets intense when you hit the near end and he starts getting the potential to one shot you.

They're doing a bundle of that game? That's freaking amazing.

I bought the original CE for the Xbox when it came out, edition that looks like a book, and hey, comes with a book. Was really jarring playing it on the PC after at a steady fps though.

Everything about the
Ameno-sagiri
fight is amazing. The lead-in dialogue was nice, the music is incredible too. Great boss music can just really pump up any fight.

I had to get pretty tactical at the end using the right items and skill to force him to waste turns. I would have died once if my persona didn't have an auto-revive skill when he used
Optic Blast
.

true, that.

Alan Wake introduced me to Poets of the Fall. I am forever in its debt.

And it's time to become a Tales of man. Preorder Tales of Xillia! ;-D

I have a heavy dislike of Tales, but Poets are one of my favourite rock bands (Since I heard them in 3D Mark. OLD SCHOOL.

I actually heard them first in Max Payne 2 (Which was before the first album), but had no idea who they were. 3D Mark was when I actively sought them out.

You should. They're a great team and they're genuine. I was just tweeting something like this the other day.

Indeed. I always try and support developers who I appreciate and Naughty Dog absolutely fits into that. It's why I bought Tomb Raider and why I used to buy pretty much anything by Atlus.

for those of you who were wondering if the famitsu tease was for p5: it wasn't.
it's for freedom wars (trigger warning: robot girls) and gran turismo 6 and maybe resevi revelations hd again.

I haven't been paying a lot of attention recently. What was the tease that you're referring to?
EDIT: Nevermind, I see the thread in gaming.

Hey guys, I'm struggling to find some persona 4 sound effects. Does anyone know of a repository for some of them? If not, does anyone have just the sound effect for when a stat increases (such as intelligence after studying or diligence after working?) Not the noise it makes when it increases, but when it goes up to a next level. Thanks.

Hopefully one of those 3 announcements will be something I'm interested about. But yeah, not expecting a P5 announcement anytime soon. :(

This means you have not played Max Payne 2. Why have you committed a sacrilege by having not played Max Payne 2? :|

And we keep driving into the night, it's a late goodbye.... such a late goodbye.

I recall seeing that Max Payne 1 and 2 obtained a wide-screen mod. Maybe it's time to finally play those two games.

I would have been surprised if you said anything besides that. Also, watch Little Witch Academia.
I had to plug that little number in.

A wild Aeana appears

Time to prepare my master ball. I want an Aeana, so he can win me a beauty contest!

The only think Alan Wake needed was more exploration and less combat.

The combat was great, but there was too much of it.

Agreed. It was fun and served it's purpose, but you kill SO MANY you have to wonder how the town has any population left. This was one game that was slightly hindered by the Uncharted syndrome.

There's some middle ground between Uncharted and Amnesia in terms of enemy #s. It can't be that hard to figure out, can it?

There's nothing to imply that
The Dark Presence can't just create enemies out of thin air or that the townsfolk aren't from the last time either.

Regardless, given Alan Wake's genre (Supernatural Thriller), I don't feel it's that outrageous.

people get my gender wrong all the time
it happens

Next you're going to tell me that Smedwicks is a girl after I've been calling him Smedwicks-kun in chat.... :p
