Yup this game prove that persona games can be on 3DS too , possible P5:G to VITA and 3DS in 2017
I honestly think we'll have a new nintendo handheld by then.

Does it really? It seems almost as though this proves that they can't. It is essentially a Persona themed dungeon crawler in my eyes and not a Persona game. (I realize this sounds weird but you know what I mean right?)
Now the a Vita having Golden.. That is proof that Persona can be on Vita.

With Persona 5 announced this is a nice extra 
It's getting closer... First it was just SMT. Now it's just a spin-off, non-canon Persona. After that it will be Persona 5 Platinum only on 3DS. Still people will say Persona 6 will be on PS4 no worries. Then Persona 6 gets announced for 4DS.

Atlus won't be putting a new persona game on a new handheld with small install base. no way.
I'm guess whenever p5 comes out, it will be on whatever plat they think they can sell the most copies on, so 3ds. Unless they are going down the monetization route, then smartphones.

No. I mean, I get that it's unprecedented for a Persona game to be on a Nintendo platform and that the series has gotten to the point where that's a possibility, but I don't see a future where everything shifts to Nintendo for the sake of it.

Very subjective there. I wouldn't blame you though since the personal relationship towards characters and such are Persona's main selling points.
Tell that to the Vita users not getting MH.

Don't get why 3DS only though considering they clearly know that's not where the Persona fanbase is right now. At least if it was also on Vita I'd have the option of importing to Europe, but as things stand I've now got no choice but to ignore the game... and that fucking sucks :/

Tell them what? Well I can tell them that I recommend buying a 3DS in any case. It's a pretty cool system and complements Vita well.

The turn based combat will likely stay the same... Persona's main draw IMO was always characterization over the battle systems/gameplay.
They were saying that many thought that because the PSP had MH that the Vita was a no brainer but.....

Well for 3DS case , SMT is already on the platform. So 3DS have the main series and the spin off of the spinoff of the main series already lol .
just realize this game is a spinoff remix of Etrian Odyssey and persona of which persona is a spinoff on SMT lol
As non-canon as P4Arena? Who cares about whether it's canon or not anyways?

MH was pretty much a guaranteed game for the Vita before because of it's multitude of games coming for the PSP. Look what happened.
Nothing's guaranteed yet. It may or may not happen. I doubt Sony will let them either because it's one of Sony's 'exclusive' games. More so because Persona is one of Shu Yoshida's favorite games.
Multiplat of course is preferred but it comes with the price of losing exclusive stuff like graphical fidelity for 3DS and 3D for the Vita. What's more you could lose some of the platform's strengths like street pass and rear touchpad etc.
I recommend importing 3DS from Canada. Best gaming purchase I made this year. It has made me avoid so many headaches and did so again.
What platform will Persona games after 5 be on anyway? I think this is an interesting question. If PS4 sets Japan on fire then that's probably the one. What if not? Vita install base isn't anywhere near close to support a major game like that worldwide. You better pray Sega doesn't decide it's time to make it an iOS game.

Its because we thought that was it. 5 fucking years of waiting and hype and they give us a dancing game on Vita and a chibi spin off of 3 and 4 which we've played like a hundred times on 3DS. I was ready to leave.
Persona 4 Arena is canon, first off. There is no question about that.
But I don't have an issue with it being non-canon, what I have an issue with is claiming that it's a sign that Persona is slowly moving towards being a Nintendo platform series.
