thanks! yeah they are both medium-length coated breeds. yoshi, the orange one, is a siberian cat, so his fur is really thick and feels like silk. i love cuddling him, he's my little teddy bear. minu, the dark one, is a mix between a black shorthair and a longer-haired norwegian forest cat, so her hair has this really neat natural "poofiness" to it.

it makes them both very fun to snuggle.

This guy isn't mine, but they look exactly the same. He's a Leonberger. They're a giant breed, but they don't drool excessively like some do. They shed like mad though. The color is almost exactly the same for the entire breed. They all seem to wear a black mask. Ours is about 130lbs where some males can be up to 150lbs.

This is exactly what he looked like when he was a puppy. We named ours Chewbacca.

I'll see if I can dig up some pics of ours later.

Heh, we had a roommate with two cats (who sort of latched onto us more) named Rogue and Storm. If we get Emma a brother, he'll be Xavier.

As for Emma's personality, she's very much a working dog. Desperately wants to be part of the pack, needs to make sure everyone in the pack is ok, and just loves being with us.

Cloudwalking: I love cats that have long Vibrissa and these fluffy bits coming out of their ears. It makes them extra cute.

Dasein: that bird looks awesome. I used to have one too. Untill he snuck out. I went completely retarded and climbed over every fence and wall into other peoples gardens without permission because he kept flying in the neigbourhood. I could here him constantly. My knees were bleeding and my hands were destroyed, but I had to catch him. He was gone...I cried...a lot. At least he finally got to fly together with the sparrows. Everytime he saw sparrows out of the window he went crazy. :lol

Question about pet birds: will they shit randomly? Do they have to be/can they be potty trained somehow?

Also, with regards to rabbits as pets, just out of curiosity, are rabbits playful as pets? I dunno...I just imagine rabbits sitting around looking cute but not much else besides that :lol You know how cats will jump on your lap and nuzzle you and dogs will curl up next to you and just beg for attention and play time? Do pet rabbits display any of these characteristics as well?

Yes they poop randomly. Depending on the bird, you can sometimes tell when they're preparing to poop.

I don't know about bird potty training.
