I wouldn't call myself a fan at all. I just casually watch a video of his here and there and he seemed like a nice dude. I don't follow him on Twitter or anything so I never really paid attention to his stances on stuff like this.

This is sad. It always seemed to me you call someone a n****r, you get terminated, lose all your sponsers, etc. regardless of job/career. It was the most understood verbal line you never crossed. Up until '08 I don't think I'd heard that word spoken by a fellow white person outside of movies and Michael Richards stand up. I expected some whitelash against President Obama, but I was shocked at how many people I knew went straight up KKK racist or said highly questionable things. Most of my friends get the side eye from me now, along with a few relatives. The fact that Pewdie Pie's racist insult is even up for debate is pathetic.

Also, the thing with Boogie is all about playing both side games which means that man has no moral compass as long it's about the bottom line. For that reason alone I have come to despise him.

I never enjoy seeing Boogie come up in these threads. Because he's an idiot. Like most gaming personalities. Nothing Boogie has ever said has made me think he has a real grasp on any issue - again nothing new for gaming personalities - but more than that, I don't think he's ever really tried to think through an issue at all. He just jumps up to make a video because that's what he does.

This is a few years ago, but he told me his entire thing was "to defend gamers" [for lack of a better phrase], defend games. If he sees a gaming institution under attack, he'll wade in with a "let's all just calm down" thing as seen here. Unfortunately for him, it is a fundamentally blanket approach he is going for here and has an incredibly difficult time reconciling "gamer has done a shit thing and it needs to be addressed" with "games must be protected". So this is how you end up with the "if I sit in the middle [and I am loosely using the term here], then everything will come out ok, games are safe and we can move on."
I did point out at the time of Gamergate that by actively trying to disperse everything around it and by refusing to plant a flag in the ground, he was actually perpetuating the harm. It almost looked like it was sinking in at the time, but obviously over the last few high profile incidents he has gone "fuck it" and refuse to stand against the negativity in this world, lest it harm his beloved "gamers". It still looks like he is trying to process everything and find a third way middle ground out of this (hint: there isn't) but it just looks terrible as he sits and plays out his anguish online.

He's so utterly unconfrontational that even in this case he manages to say "oh, he shouldn't have done it, obviously, but he totally regrets what he did. Also, we can't let things like these dictate who can play games". It's so deplorable that he keeps doing this. I have no idea what makes a person so utterly lacking the ability to pick a side, and being such an apologetic, but it's pathetic.

When I was in high school, I got essay assignments where I have to argue for one point and argue against another. The teacher made it clear that you cannot argue for both or neither. You had to choose a side and run with it.
Do you know why they teach you this? Because choosing no side gets nothing done. When you do not choose a side, things that should be changed become stagnant and worsen over time. "Sitting on the fence" means someone is not willing to do anything to solve an obvious problem and is wasting everybody's time by getting in the way and not contributing.
Choose a side, or nothing gets done. Choose a side, or nothing gets done to make lives better. If you cannot choose a side, you have no business arguing anything.

At this point I have nothing new to add to this discussion and generally speaking I like to avoid threads this deep in when I can't contribute, but in this case...
Way to go GAF. It's always nice to see that the majority of people who gather here have a bare minimum of common decency, and that the ones who show their asses get to take their filth elsewhere. Desperately hoping that something is done about this awful streamer, but unfortunately I'm at a loss to think of what anyone really could do to punish him meaningfully. The size of his influence is terrible in a lot of ways, in this case both because it makes him such a massive vector for normalizing heinous behavior like this and because it makes him impervious to repercussions for it.
It's enough to make someone lose faith, honestly.

Man, I used to like Boogie a lot, but the whole Jon Tron thing really separated me from all YouTube Gamers. I expected better reactions from the community, from what was the most clearly racist rant I've heard all year. Few I followed mentioned it, and some even stuck up for him. Gross. There should have been outright condemnation, but Jon never got that. There was no middle ground with the type of stuff he said.
One thing was clear, they would complain about SJWs all day, but as soon as something racist popped up, there would be silence, or, suddenly, time and consideration would be given to them.
I never consciously stopped watching, I just never wanted to again. I would see them on the screen and just ignore.

Good. If Youtube and Google can't do their jobs, developers have every right to disassociate from PDP regardless whether they say a person can use their work for their own.

I think that's why people care that he's saying these things.
From what I've read it's mostly posts saying that people are overreacting but you have to understand that the whole n-word and other racism hasn't really had the same history in Sweden as it has in America so people who aren't aware or doesn't care about other countries or issues doesn't understand the big deal.
With that being said there is also a surge in racism right now and it has been happening for a couple of years with a racist party (Sverigedemokraterna) being the second largest right now in the polls so people are starting to come out of the woodwork so to speak.
