But aside from this sort of general nitpicking, there's very little to complain about in Project Gotham Racing 3. It's more immersive than any other racer out there. It's more fun, too.

Great score, a shame that I find racing sims to be boring as hell. :/
It's a mix between sim and arcade, errs a bit more on the arcade side of things. A bit hard to quantify but playing it you'll understand.

you're in luck. it's not a racing sim ;)

If it's anything like the second one, well I agree.

Not that I found it bad. It was pretty and it was well made. I just found it boring.

Note to 1UP editors: There more numbers in the world then just 7 and 10. Try some in between for instance. Ya? Ya. ;)

I'm not doubting the game is great, but damn if that reviewer couldn't talk about the damn gameplay. Besides GRAPHICS AWESOME!!! I gritted my teeth and tried to make my way through the technical terminology this guy was using to no avail. All I pretty much got out of it is that first-person driving from behind the dashboard is good and the live features are cool.

Yay! My months-long obsession was for a game worth playing!

Seriously, I probably have about 1 gig of PGR3 footage on my PC.

*watches direct feed video*

But, but 30fps = chopfest? right? Right?! *waits for someone to pull the encoded video != your TV screen BS as a last minute hope to save face*

Game over yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Of course, a polished presentation can be soured by weak game mechanics. Fortunately, PGR3 excels at being both a brilliant showpiece of the power of Microsoft's new console as well as a thoroughly enjoyable racer. Each car handles distinctively, as you'd imagine, and yet, the game remains utterly playable from start to finish. While the handling may not adhere as strictly to reality as in the more simulation-heavy racing series', I find that controlling PGR3 is often much more enjoyable. Some cars hug the track while others force the player to initiate hand-brake-assisted power-slides; the latter group tends to yield more Kudos, the series' denominator of driving skill. The learning curve of PGR3 is decidedly slight, meaning that even novice gamers should have little trouble hopping in and quickly learning to control the vast array of vehicles. My girlfriend, a non-gamer, took first after only her third attempt after placing last in her initial race. And yet, the difficulty and AI scales wonderfully to accommodate veteran racers as well.

Thanks for the direct feed link Che...That looks amazing (in this small little window in this low res) Can't wait to see it on my HDTV :)
