PGR5 speculation thread Lucid dreams with Rare side effects?

Sorry if I ask but who is BADNED? A dev?
Prominent member of the Forza community, created (I think anyways) the biggest Forza fansite, who always seems to have an inside look at whatever is going on within T10. God knows who he really is or how he has access to the information he does though.

Might be hinting at T10 doing PGR5.

Are you sure? I mean going nearly 830m upwards takes a while. Do you have the time?

Side note: BADNED has always had the most oblong, indecipherable hints to the point where I think he just finds joy in fucking with us.

If this ends up being Forza Horizon 5 or some shit I demand you convert ForzaCentral to PGRCentral for your amnesty.

So, FM5 for next year.
Probably a good result for all.

More time for weather, night, SpaHurst, customization/upgrades/tuning/dyno, immersive experience,HDT,Holden,FPV, proper drag and drift..etc. :):)

B, more cryptic hints and riddles please..

Welp, that's Dubai. Could do with some more landmark spots though. Only noticed Burj Al Arab in the distance. Looks amazing though.

Let's hope those assets didn't get lost.

Bring it on. Call it whichever way you prefer: "forza: project metropolis", "project forza racing", "we name it Forza but you know it's PGR".

Just give it to me. All over my face, of course.

Everywhere is doing Dubai lately though. GRID 2 will have it for example. Mid-East circuits and cities are "In".
I'd say top priority should be Liverpool would be fun since there's a lot of wide roads and hilly areas to wind around.
Plus, the ultimate tribute to Bizarre Creations as a bonus as Liverpool was the city they always wanted to do (Since it was their home) and almost got it in Blur 2 till Activision shut them down.
Otherwise, Lisbon might be fun and spectacular near the port areas. Austin could be a good spot with spectacular scenery as well. Milan was done well in GRID and could be used in a fun way in PGR. There's a lot of possibilities. Though I hope they don't go too narrow like St. Petersburg. Moscow was way more fun in PGR 2.

They really should do Athens .

Hate Dubai. One of the most backwards city out there. Trying to be the future when in fact it's all that's wrong with the model we've been living with. It's false modernity, it in fact feels like such an obsolete city because of the vision on which it's built.

I want Cape Town in. And Montréal. Chamonix or some other town in the Alps.

Any city is good if the track design is good.

I just want tracks with variety and good elevetional changes. Macao was incredible in PGR4.

And so were lots of other tracks.

what do we do to badned if he is just fucking with us and there is no pgr/forza 5?

man, i REALLY want a pgr 4 sequel.

PGR5 for this year and FM5 for next sounds like a really smart thing to do.

They can even start the conference saying "PGR was there for you when we launched the 360. It will be there once again with the new xbox" or something.

?

Just to set the mood

I wouldn't be shocked if they used the in engine photo mode for all those screens. It just looks so good. I found this old shot I had in my files earlier this week (click for big).

I thought it was a cool shot with the spray and kept it. But looking at it again this week and seeing Admiralty Arch reflected in the puddle blew me away. This was a game from 2007 and it still looks that good.

Come on Tuesday. I need that PGR 5 hype in my blood.

I would re-buy 3 and 4 if they were on Games on Demand. MS, are you listening?
I posted this a few days ago in the Nextbox launch thread:
I *suspect* it's because there's a bug with the sound when you play it from the HDD, which it would also do when playing it as a Games on Demand title.

FWIW I have successfully loaded it on my JTAG box so it plays as if it were a GoD title (benefits of being able to run unsigned software) and it plays fine without the disc, but that (very noticeable) bug is still there, as it happens with all the menu music and from memory, some of the engine sounds.

Shouldn't be too hard to track down physically, though!

I would love to see a new PGR at Xbox 720 launch, especially if the Ferrari F40 model looks good this time around. PGR2 is still one of my favorite games.

So, this is kinda interesting... the guy who did the video editing on pretty much all Bizarre's stuff and was with Rare for a little bit, has moved on:

Plot thickens.

Edit: But that's okay, Lucid got someone from the dark side anyway:

PGR4 just reeked of the sort of style that Wipeout Fury/2048 had... so this is good (old news though, obv).

I'm guessing there's a lot of intermingling between devs in the UK, even if they are for different platforms.

PS. How did I not know Evolution was UK-based? For some reason I thought they were in the US. Certainly building themselves up as a bit of a racing powerhouse... Rare (going by the majority of the staff's prior experience), Lucid (I hope), Evolution and Playground.

Psygnosis was a legendary studio, so sad to see them closed down :( Their games oozed love just like Bizarre's did.

If Lucid becomes a home to Psygnosis/Liverpool and Bizarre alumni, oh man.

It's really almost looking like that. I haven't looked much into the past employees' companies, but Lucid is right up there with having some epic talent:

Totally know what you mean, though. I think you're talking about a similar thing I've harped on about endlessly, which is that undefinable something that just tells you it's from a UK studio. I think it's an ex-Amiga thing... a lot of those just had fucking rad aesthetics that weren't exclusive to either menus or the game itself, everything was just uniform across the whole title.

Crazy, bizarre side note: Was just talking about The Crystal Method in the Groundbreaking Electronic Music thread, and turns out TCM had a track that was featured prominently in Blur. Turns out, "prominently" means IT WAS THE FUCKING MENU MUSIC!

I think my head just exploded.
