I kinda feel sorry for all the people competing in the Arks GP. Those are some really shitty requirements they have to deal with. The devs had to have been purposely gimping them for these runs because no TAer in their right mind would willingly use this much Overend...

Planet Japan? That was Neudaiz in PSU, the Newmans' home world.

Also a Sugita NPC (was that like, the only thing that made the crowd in the stream really cheer other than the balloon? lol) should eventually mean a Sugita voice ticket, wish I had a male character. free third slot plz

The balloon part, I think it was more a reaction to the casino than the balloon itself.

Looks like PSO2 will be temporarily suspended due to DDOS attacks...

Sega released a statement saying that they are experiencing a DDOS attack against their servers by an unknown third party group. Since players are not able to properly utilize their services, they have decided to temporarily suspend PSO2 beginning June 18th at 19:18 JST.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still very much enjoying playing the game. Still, this turn of events is rather unfortunate, isn't it.

Any theories on who is behind this, and their reasons?

Pissed off gamers locked out due to the SEA IP ban? (Lack of) quality of the SEA client pushing someone over the edge? Random message board dickery? Some issue raised during the recent reveals? Did someone finally snap from "escape from the city" overdose? Extortion?

I mean, this sounds a little bit more serious than the normal unmotivated scriptkiddie DDOS. If it knocks them off the net for longer than a day there's a bit of money or effort behind this.

(Sucks though, I just made a new in-game friend yesterday and was looking forward to dicking around with them. Now I won't be able to play until next week at best since I'll be afk on the weekend.)

Theories at this point amount to picking a particular group (SEA players/Chinese/western hackers etc. etc.) and guessing they did it. Nothing concrete at all, and Sega just said it was a 'third party'.

Edit: Oh yeah I forgot the wilder conspiracy theories, like 'it's an inside job so Sega has a reason to IP block foreigners' or 'it's the company behind a rival MMO'.

Wow. I logged in for the first time in months just last night and everything seemed fine. I just assumed the three times I was kicked to the title screen due to time out errors was because of a bad lightning storm in my area. I was just getting back in the zone too, working towards unlocking Fighter. Hope it comes back soon. People on here still log on often?

Well that's my plans for the weekend shot, I'd only just renewed my subscription too. Can't wait for the inevitable Tri Boost 50% x2 as "compensation" for this.

I feel bad for premium subscribers. That decent thing to do would be to extend their premium for the time the servers were down. I was going to look into getting AC for a new mag. Guess I will hold off until this blows over.

According to bumped, they are considering extending stuff that runs on a timer, like Premium Sets.

I really hope that 'considering' is just a Japanese nicety though. I'm not a Premium subscriber but extending stuff that runs on a timer, like Premium, or My Room/Shop passes, is pretty much the least they should do in this situation.

I actually just got the game up and running with patches and sweetfx for the first time and had been playing for about an hour when this happened. What luck lol

Is it normal for a game and all related websites to be completely incapacitated by DDOS attacks for half a week? I was actually really having a good time with what little I got to play...

Must be a huge attack this time, things have been slowed a bit before but this is the first time in the game's two year history that services had to be suspended unscheduled.

People with premium will likely get X number of 1 day premium tickets for however many days this goes on. It's how they've done it before. Now I'm just concerned about not making money. Gotta have some money for Shining Scratch and it's inevitably high priced goods.

Premium tickets as compensation for premium members are almost certain.
Personally I have about 10 one day premium tickets in my storage due to emergency maintenances that happened in the past (and these maintenances lasted like less than half a day).

Anyways, damn that sucks about how long til it might be up again. Guess I could just play some of my Steam games I've been buying to pass the time.

I was directed over here from a Vita import suggestions thread. I don't think I'd like the memory card swapping required by the DL version, so I'm looking at picking up a retail copy.

If I buy the first one, can I download the expansion on my US PSN account, or would I need to buy both retail copies? Unfortunately it's still more expensive than I expected, so if I have to buy both I'll probably skip it. :(
