Looks like a pirate chinese iPhone rip-off. Doesn't look that attractive and no headphone jack??? Like WTF? I can already imagine them announcing their exclusive headphones: "Revolutionary audio and quality" and sell them for $99 bucks. I'm an iPhone user but I guess I will have to stick with the 6 I currently own for a little longer : / Or upgrade to a 6S but not reason to do so right now since the 6 has been worked nicely for me so far.

The screen is 3:2 not 4:3 and the proportions of the 4/4S are beyond perfection.
It is the iPhone design that will be remembered when the only thought of a smartphone will be archaic.

well whatever the aspect ratio was, my point still stands

On the one hand I am pissed about them removing the jack, on the other I got these cool wireless beats with my MacBook Pro... Hmmm

The rumors we've heard so far of the 2017 design sound closer to the iPhone 4/4S design than to the 5/5S design.

Glass back, possibly no bezels (iOS 10's bubble-focused design is basically introducing a small bit of bezel space into the OS itself, negating whatever hand-grip based design justifications exist for having hardware bezels), possibly zero moving parts (unless you count the taptic engine and speakers) or holes. Also, AMOLED would mean getting to do a lot of nice design stuff with blacks in the OS that would look gorgeous on a fully black piece of hardware.

iOS has had support for ignoring touches on thin bezels since the iPad Mini release

Well if this is legit then the 'no 3.5mm jack' rumors are true, my current iPhone will be my last iPhone. I use this thing as a souped up MP3 player more than anything. I'm sure there's going to be a lighting port adapter, but it's going to make my phone more cumbersome and I'd rather not bother, especially with my personal experience of Apple doo-dads and extras fraying, breaking and failing after 6 months to a year of use. And while Bluetooth headphones/sets are becoming more popular, I don't find that the battery life on mobile phones really supports their regular use.

I've been on the fence about switching to the other side for a while, but I've always gone with an iPhone at upgrade time since I'm already heavily invested into the ecosystem; gotta hand it to Apple for making the desire to switch easy for me.

I feel the same way, for the most part, but I find all of the alternatives pretty unappealing. I really wish Sony made better phones, as they produce the only designs that really click with me.

Honestly
, after owning two phones with stereo speakers, they're very overrated
I disagree, but I also listen to a shit ton of music and watch lots of movies on my mobile devices, so yeah. That said, front facing speakers are in an objectively better location than those on the back or sides/bottom, so I'll always prefer them over the alternative.

Weren't there rumors that the 3.5 to Lightning would be included in the box? Or has that been proven false?

Nothings been proven, but I have no doubt they'll include it in the box. Replacements, though....

See, I always use headphones for music and movies

Can you even read that? It's pretty blurry already. While I love my iPhone 6s+ I don't feel like apple brought enough to the table this year. Hopefully the rumors about the 10th anniversary iPhone hold true. That would be an incredible upgrade.
What's supposed to be in the anniversary phone? That's supposed to replace the 7S as well right?

those hideous antenna lines, i'm amazed they managed to make them look worse than before

if legit, apple has officially fallen behind the competition.

Is there something against coloring the antenna lines the same color as the back?

Also, I'd love to see them offer the option to choose your back and front color. I like the gold, but hate the white front. Black fronts make the screen blend in so much more.

I want squared off edges. As lovely as the rounded edges feel to the touch, it makes it too slippery to hold in the hand (especially the plus). Also for gods sake do something with those antenna lines. They can't even colour match them properly? That is really unlike the supposed obsession over detail that apple always claims to have

Depends on where I am. At home, I don't use headphones nearly as often as when I'm away. Regardless, a device with no stereo speakers is not a deal breaker, it's just what I prefer. A device with no headphone jack, though? I'm not even considering it.

Whenever I hear people complain about the camera size I want to die.

If you want image quality improvement you need the absolute biggest possible sensor and that means moving the lens forward a little bit.

Obviously there is a reasonable point where the phone becomes too unwieldy, but seeing a larger camera bump is the BEST possible sign you are going to get a big performance boost in image quality.

If they get dinged for this in the reviews I'll be pissed.

I really hope they thoroughly explain why this is necessary at it's announcement.

Cool. What's the best way to sell my 6+? I was just forced to buy a new one by Apple for $360 so it's flawless. Assuming I can keep it that way for a month, eBay? Gazelle's offer ($255 for an unlocked 128GB 6+) isn't great and I'd like to recoup my costs (or get close) as the whole situation was pretty frustrating.

I don't know why people keep saying this. They still don't look great, but they're way better here than on the 6 line, which has those stupid little strips of color because the antenna lines break up the back. I still can't believe they did the 6s that way, because it looks so utterly un-Apple like.

Lord I miss the iPhone 4 though. The 5 line was still good, but the 4 was the epitome of Apple making phones that looked like something special.

Will wait for 2017's model. I don't even care about losing the headphone jack, I'm just bored as fuck with the 6's design.

Depends on the repercussions. If they don't sell as they expect because of it.
iPhone 7 seems weak in a lot of areas, it will hard to be point to the headphone jack as the main reason it doesn't sell well, if that turns out to be the case.

I think people would be a lot more willing to accept it if there were a worthwhile new feature, but honestly it's less of a step forward than many S iterations from what I can tell.

Is there really such a thing as an iPhone leak?

Just look at the current iPhone and that is what the new one will look like.

Can't wait for the massive iPhone "Pro" model to bring the headphone jack back.

If it's gone and if they bring it back, that's probably how they'd do it.

Those speaker holes are huge. Hopefully it has a grill behind there.
It has a grill. Similar to iPad. The made an amazing change to their speakers starting with iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6, making them some of the loudest in phones of their size. This is the evolution.

Exactly what I was thinking lol

But for real though, what's all this business about no headphone jack? Seems like a lot of iphone users are annoyed by it.

Gross @ that camera size. Maybe I'll opt for the Note 7

So having a better lens is a bad thing now? WTF. I'm loving the camera size. I want bigger sensors with a bigger lens for better photo IQ.

Too bad i'm not giving up my 6 plus yet. Going to have to wait till this bad boy can't work anymore. I'm just finally paying this bitch off next month.

I just traded in my 128 GB 6 for an SE. Apple gave me $225. Gazelle offered I think $195 (it wasn't flawless so I might have gotten more from them if it was, and Apple doesn't make this distinction. Just whether it works or not) and GameStop offered $215.

6/6s has those same antenna lines around the edge that 7 has. It just has more of them, two more than cut straight through the back. What they have on 7 is a definitive improvement, even though yes, it still doesn't look all that great.

There are rumors, but it's very unlikely IMO. Bundling the adapter would be Apple admitting that they took away a port but still find it essential enough to give everyone an adapter. What's most likely to happen is Lightning earbuds will be included (not wireless, too expensive to pack in). Besides, Apple can make lots more money selling you a $30 adapter if they don't pack one in.

The silly thing is that Apple's Lightning headphones would still require you to purchase an adapter if you wanted to use them with your MacBook.
