The question is, are they going to tour?
Because that would be amazing.

From what I've heard, no, they will not.

Would love to be wrong though.

Well, David's solo album is also coming out sometime so I assume he'd play songs off this album if he tours so there's that.

HIGHLY doubt it. After Wright's death, I figure Gilmore wants nothing else to do with Waters and Pink Floyd. They patched up their problems though so I could be wrong.
Dave is still really close with Nick, but I can't see a scenario where he would even dare think of putting on a show without someone who was practically his brother.

The Waters/Gilmour/Wright/Mason lineup performed together from time to time in the last 10 years.

WHOA WAIT WHAT. Mind blown.

... Oh, no Waters. Well.... still, that's shocking. I greatly prefer Waters's output, but I did enjoy Momentary Lapse, and while The Division Bell is boring, High Hopes is one of their best songs ever. So... who knows how it'll turn out. Remaining cautiously optimistic for now.

It might, but tickets are gonna be eleventy billion dollars each. :(

Wow I didn't think there was a Pink Floyd GAF.

I love all their stuff, with or without Waters. Didn't really listen to anything before Dark Side of the Moon though.

Then you're missing out on some of the best stuff. Watch Live at Pompeii ffs. And listen to Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

geesh.

Actually I used to own a copy of Relics and loved the stuff on there.

Going to queue up a bunch of stuff on Google play music for a long flight in a few days.

Thanks for the recommendations.

I love everything after and including Atom Heart Mother. I have trouble with their earlier stuff.

Ummagumma is god-tier, but you need to eat a handful of shrooms first. And it needs to be really, really loud.

Saucerful and More are both a mess, but I still enjoy them occasionally. The live performances of the song "A Saucerful of Secrets" are usually stupendous. The version of Atom Heart Mother that they usually performed live, without the orchestral instruments or choral section, is also a lot more enjoyable to my ears than the commercial release.

Piper at the Gates of Dawn is in another category altogether. It would be fair to say it's the only real Pink Floyd album. I'm sure for some people it is. It is my favorite by a mile, and I really love everything Pink Floyd did through Animals.

I mean I don't think it's bad but...

It's not called psychedelic rock for nothing!

But yeah, this is a common roadblock for a lot of people, since it's such a completely different sound from everything that came after. I don't blame people for not vibing with it, but if you're into that particular genre, I don't think there's many records better than it.

Comfortably Numb got me into Floyd, but listening to the whole Wall album for the first time after listening to their previous stuff, yeah...total Waters solo album. Not a bad one though!

Post Wall stuff has some good cuts but not really close to their peak stuff.

And Prime Floyd live was as mesmerizing as it got.

Holy.

Fucking.

Shit.

I can't believe they are actually releasing a new album. Plus it's from the 1994 sessions!

Nick mason had mentioned in interviews that they had enough good material for a double album of Division Bell, but they decided to cut it down to a single.

I never thought they'd release the extra stuff, let alone craft it in to a new album.

Would be cool if there's a Waters cameo.

Time to listen to some Division Bell.

Won't this be more like a David Gilmour solo album with another guy from Floyd making a guest appearance? I mean, I wouldn't call a Paul McCartney album with Ringo on drums The Beatles. It'd be more like their own special band.

Not that I know a ton about this album, but still...

Bloodborne is shit
I guess this is just a good a thread as any.

Casual Floyd here.

I own Dark Side, Animals, The Wall and Wish You Were Here.

Whats the best Floyd album I'm missing?

He's also working on his new solo album, apparently has 2 albums worth of stuff to work with.

All of it is culled from the 1994 sessions for The Division Bell. They had a bunch of jams left over, which they had thought of releasing in the past. Rumour has it there was work going on in the late 90s and then it went quiet.

The Final Cut is legitimately an underrated masterpiece and better than The Wall

Yes I'm 100% serious

The Wall had far more memorable songs and the entire concept +film makes it a far more unique experience.

The Final Cut is very underrated but it definitely feels like a Waters solo album to me of his usual (excellent) but typical anti-war protest songs.

I listen to Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking and they sound almost the same.

Congratulations, you really deserve it!
I would go further, though I know I'm asking for it ... Pink Floyd's last album was Animals. The Wall and The Final Cut were Waters solo albums that he let the other guys play on (fired Wright while recording The Wall). The band that re-formed in the mid-80's should've picked a new name and saved all the bad blood that came out of litigating over rights to the name Pink Floyd. They never came close to measuring up to it anyway.

I went to see Floyd live in 1988 on the Momentary Lapse tour, but I knew it wasn't really Pink Floyd anymore. I should've gone to see Waters on the Radio K.A.O.S. tour instead, even though he's probably the biggest prick in the western hemisphere.

Wow, wonder if we'll get both a new Pink Floyd and King Crimson in the same year.

I'm optimistic about Floyd. I dig Gilmours stuff. Kind of sad they won't end on High Hopes, though...

Really wish we could get just one last Waters and Gilmour collaboration.

It's my favorite album of any Pink Floyd incarnation. Waters is in top form, vocally, lyrically, and in terms of the production.
