I for one welcome 3rd person games making a comeback. Back in the 2005-2015 period, almost every other game was a FPS.Don't people ever get bored of this type of 3rd person over the shoulder action games ?

Just a reminder as someone who works in Cybersecurity there's plenty of mitigation alone in least privilege and separation of duties in terms of access control but companies just don't take it seriously until there's an incident like this. Also, don't get into cyber if you don't want a sense of paranoia or anxietyIt's just some internal prototype demo/vertical slice. Nothing representative of the final or full game which doesn't even exist at this point.
Still it's unfortunate that developers at Insomniac have to see their work exposed like this. Security must be taken seriously.
As per the great saying by Shigeru MiyamotoAt some point you wonder if Sony would have been better off paying the ransom
Every time i think this guy can't be any worse. Holy shit. This is a gaming "journalist" we're talking about...not some random account on twitter.
They could also pay the ransom and the hacker group still leak everything, there is simply no upside to paying tbhIt does incentivize the hackers to do it to other companies, but they're going to do it anyway. That's not really Sonys problem.
As crazy as it might sound, sometimes it is better to pay the ransom. People probably have the instant reflex of thinking, "Do not negotiate with terrorists!" but in certain cases, it's the better solution.Other companies have paid these ransoms. There's absolutely no incentive for the hackers to lie and leak anyway.
I don't think companies pay them in general because the feds tell them not to, but I bet every single company that has dealt with this has thought that they should have just paid.
They never left. It's nice to see demos coming back in 2023.

Or even further attacks on Sony once hacker know they are willing to payIt does incentivize the hackers to do it to other companies, but they're going to do it anyway. That's not really Sonys problem.

i will argue that the Karens are the ones that make threads about how mods are attacking them.People that bitch about threads are the Karens of neogaf
No, never negotiate with these people. At some point you wonder if Sony would have been better off paying the ransom
what do you mean?Don't people ever get bored of this type of 3rd person over the shoulder action games?
Didn't they also delay the game for another year because of that hack? The same thing happened to half life 2 btw. Valve hunted that hacker like crazy.

If you think console games are made on special development hardware, let this be a rude awakening.I bet sony regrets doing pc ports now. This will cost them big time.
Hopefully its not. Thats just disgusting.Fully playable doesn't mean the full game.

Bahaha those aren't Karens. They're just pathetici will argue that the Karens are the ones that make threads about how mods are attacking them.![]()

For real, people are acting like someone died. Wow, we all found out insomniac games will be making video games for the foreseeable future. So sad.Free marketing
I wouldn't say that. It's very likely they start working on the PC build early on and then Nixxes jump in at some point. They're both internal Sony studios now so they probably start working hand-in-hand early into the development to allow for a smoother transition for the PC port.Clearly going to launch on PC day one. Otherwise nixxes would've been porting it.
Told you all that this was the end game. And not just for gaas games.
Also lol at the whole thing. They got greedy and paid for it. Karma is a bitch.
Console exclusives -or even mobile only games- are developed and tested in PCs too, so they make fully playable PC builds like the leaked ones.I bet sony regrets doing pc ports now. This will cost them big time.
Same with Greg Miller. He laps up every leak under the sun but when it's Sony...oof, gross dude. Press Fman, I thought CRYING bitterly over this tweet was just a ResetEra thing, but I keep underestimating this board and its roots.
