Is this the type of game that you really want to play with friends? None of my friends are very consistent with playing games together, and I don't want to buy it if it'll be a waste of my time playing as a single player.

Is there a way to try before buying?

you can buy it on steam and play a few matches and then refund it if you don't like it.

personally I don't really like to play PUBG alone, but a few of my friends really like to play it solo. You can also join the GAF PUBG discord and join up with someone there.

Good point, I forgot about the Steam refund. Maybe I'll give it a shot and see what I think.

I do sometimes like to play the lone wolf, but some games are just brutal for solo players.

Here's another!

Bought the game on recommendation of my friend. Was me and him, he's showing me the ropes, taking us from place to place. As the circle was getting smaller, he said the last guy was hiding in a shed so we were making our way there when winner winner popped up. He must have been outside the circle.

After the match he asked me how many people I killed, I said killed? I didn't see a single soul but you lol.

That was my very first match.

Since the latest patch I've been getting a lot of stuttering/freezes in game. It usually is what gets me killed when I come in contact with other players. Doesn't happen in any other game I play. Anyone have this same issue (particularly the in-game stuttering) & know of a fix?

Do you have any launch commands?
What settings you have?

Most of the streamers I watch play solo, and I play solo. I've only played a dozen or so games but there are three game queue options: solo, duo, full squad (4 or 5 I forget). If you queue solo, and I think thats the most popular option, you are only playing against other solo players so its really no big deal.

You CAN queue solo against duos or full teams, and some really good streamers do that and wipe out full enemy squads, but again playing solo only servers is great and its 100 player, FFA battles. Queues are literally instant for me, 24 x 7, when I play solo.

There are always gonna be a ton of games where you land and die within a minute but ehh, whattya gonna do. At least not a lot of time wasted, the worst games are where you die after 20-30 mins and still mid position.

Never messed with any of that stuff. I have a gtx 970, i5 4690k @4.2GHz with 8gb of RAM. Settings in game are mostly all low except for texture (high) and distance (high) which is what they've always been set to.

I wish there was a practice mode with a firing range. I still don't know how to lead shots accurately or control most of the recoil.

While it sucks, the easiest way I found to learn weapons is to get something you want to learn, get on top of a roof that has trees nearby, and watch where you're hitting the tree when you shoot at it.

You can get a pretty good idea if there's a lot of drop or not.

First win since the leaderboard reset.

So many goddamn matches after that.

Today we tried a new method. To always try and stay at the edge of the circle rather than going towards the center.

First attempt we were literally 1 guy away from winning.

Second attempt we got into the top 5.

Then the third attempt we got victorious!

28 hours for my first chicken dinner. Only had time for one quick game so we weren't even trying hard.
Bailed out of our landing spot pretty quickly because another team was there, luckily there was a car nearby so we drove over half the map to Georgopol to loot some houses. Loot was kind of mediocre and before long more and more people started to show up. We were shooting guys from the top of our building and I even got knocked out once. My friend wasn't so lucky and was finished off pretty quickly. I decided to go hide a bit after that and sat one floor down behind a door. The guy who shot at us must've started to search the building because I kept hearing someone running up and down, he never made it to my room though. The same guy kept getting kill after kill and after a couple of minutes I just thought I'd get it over with and ran outside. To my surprise I wasn't killed and made my way into the trees and went prone. Shit started to hit the fan soon after that, constant shooting from all sides, nades kept exploding and people dropped like flies. Circle kept shrinking away from me so I kept crawling after it. Soon only three players were left and I spotted the other two guys fighting each other and waited for one to drop. Tried to drop the remaining player with my VSS but my aim is shit and the mag was empty far to quickly, went prone again to reload, tried to flank him and saw he was still behind the same tree probably healing up. I just stood there and waited for him to pop back out, which he did and I nailed him. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

Such an intense experience, even my friend who was only spectating had to take a break after that.

We made sure that there was NO ONE behind us with the barrier to our back when there was less than 10 people alive.

We killed 2 guys and then as we made our move...

We got shot in the back.

HOW!? There's was no one there! Neither of us heard them either!

I might be wrong but I don't think you make noise if you move prone or crouch while holding Ctrl.

So my squad had to stop playing. We all kept getting different errors and couldn't get past playing for more than a minute. Game is broken tonight.

I get a message with "tslgame.exe image error" and some exception during plane/jump, then the game plays fine for about 2 minutes, then it crashes back to the menu with a white box stating a Client Stopped Responding error.

The only thread I can find about it is a Steam thread from May, which had no responses about ten minutes ago and now has about a dozen from other people wondering what the fuck is going on.


I'm verifying files to see if that's it.

Are the servers getting DDoSed or what? Every game is disconnecting within 5 minutes. First time I've had any issues this severe with connecting.

I'm having the exact same thing happen. There wasn't a patch in the last day so I am thinking it's server load related.

game is super laggy. When is the next update coming out?

I feel this game needs many more servers than it does right now, their netcode is still shit.

It'll come to ps4 at some point most likely, but they are focusing on the Xbox port first.

Yeah I got my maybe second crash ever tonight, and have hit a few network connection issues as well.

On the plus side, if servers are borked, I definitely have an excuse for missing 15 S12K shots in a row.
