They really need to work on the aiming and shots hitting. I was a few feet from a guy and unloaded on him and he turned around and killed me in a couple of shots. Feels bad, man. :|

What sound does the game offer? Does it make a difference if I plug in my MixAmp into Digital Out, instead of using headphones with the monitor?

Just bought the game but everything looks kinda washed out and such ?
Are their any recommended settings for the game? I just put everything on medium with draw distance high and fps wise everythings great but for spotting people in the distance it's a bit rubbish.

I tried the game with 2.1 speakers, Samsung TV soundbar, Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 headphones, Sennheiser Game One's on a Soundblaster X G5, stereo, virtual 5.1/7.1. It's all up to preference in the end.

I feel like the more you play the more you get used to it, but the sound is weirdly mixed in this game imo. I just tried different presets now, sometimes the rain would overpower anything or shots would be way too loud.

In my experience the trick when you get to #2/3 is to let the chicken dinner come to you.

Try and sit still as much as possible. Try not to move much or be obvious. Just wait and wait and wait.

If need be auto-crawl (with CTRL held down for slowness) to the safe zone.

Just wait them out. More times than not, they'll eventually expose themselves or run into your gun.

You just played out the final 6 minutes of that match - the two of us were narrowed down into a wheat field, both prone, and neither of us were blinking. My opponent eventually got impatient and starting winging grenades, I thought I saw an opportunity to finish them as they crawled ever closer but I got it wrong, they got the inevitable drop and managed to end me with a shotgun.

Edit: Update time! 4.9GB, let's gooo

Shit, watching a stream and he just got the sundown map, game looks amazing.

Can't wait to update and jump on for some games later.

Holy crap the game feels so much smoother now, both because of the moving looting and the network and frame performance feel significantly boosted.

I killed a guy trying to wait me out on a second story by throwing a molotov on the stairs and jumping out a window, I fucked up the jump and they ran in on fire to shoot me, I lost nearly all my health and switched to my pistol by accident and dumped like 4 rounds in them, they ran away and I went to heal, and I was so distracted I didn't notice the molotov had killed them until after I peeked the other room and saw their body. They had a Glock too. Didn't get to use it on anyone before dying, but it was badass looking all kitted out with a suppressor, extended mag, and red dot.

Man, I jut had a great game where I got nine kills. I had an 8x scope and posted myself up on the mountain, although most of my kills came from people trying to drive their way up the hill. It came down to 3 alive and my graphics card gave up, I suppose I overclocked it a bit too much and I'd never played this long. Frustrating, but I feel like I have the skills now to get a chicken dinner.

Also the game is way smoother now.

It definitely seems to run better. I'm just disappointed because of how promising it initially was. I have an older gaming system:

Windows 7 64-bit
4.2 GHz quad-core 3570k
2GB GTX 770
16GB DDR3
SSD
1680x1050

The lobby initially looked very smooth at over 60 fps, but it soon started hitching to 40-60 fps. The plane was 20-60 fps inside. Even once I landed, even inside buildings, any time I would look around I would typically see a framerate hitch in the 38-60 fps range, and camera movement is hitchy / stuttery.

I'd hoped with my lower screen resolution I would be able to get 60 more consistently. I have every graphics setting very low besides the following:

anti-aliasing medium
view distance medium
texture high

I guess I'll try turning even these settings down, though I can't lower anti-aliasing any more without the screen getting a horrible grid effect. I know about the suggestion that turning up some settings may improve framerate, but none of my CPU cores are hitting 100% utilization so I'm not even sure I'm CPU-limited.

Set scaling to 100%

Any essential/ recommended control-customizations? It feels like a lot of my deaths could be avoided with a more intuitive control scheme..

Also so much for the UMP spawn nerf. :p My second game I checked 3-4 buildings in a major town without finding a single weapon. No melee, no pistol.

I died in the next building to someone who already had an UMP.

I feel the same, I don't think my config is the most optimal as it's pretty default.

I also need to get out of the habit of pressing f to pick stuff up, people who I watch seem a lot more handier pushing the inventory button and then dragging and dropping items.

I put inventory on Tab and only loot that way. It's way faster and more comfortable.

The aiming is definitely weird over-the-shoulder. I got the drop on someone (who was moving, admittedly) with a shotgun last night and all 5 of my rounds missed. He turned around and got me with two shots.

I've had plenty of OHK's with that shotgun too, it's not like I'm a crap shot.

Sounds more like a tickrate issue (I heard the tickrate can be kinda crap on some servers)

In the last couple of days I've definitely had a few strange moments like this, so you could be right. I played with an American friend the other day - perhaps my settings are still set to NA rather than EU.

Game is smooth but man o man random EU squad really sucks, people don't use mics and behave like absolute morons, just went through 3 trash games in a row :(
