Wut
I got into a game and all I could do was move my characters aim left and right? You can't just look around freely?
Do the reward chest box prices reset each week?
That would be nice actually at the very least. A much more robust contextual lean based on your cover like in Battlefield would be good to be added in. I don't expect that to happen, but hey they're already putting a lot of work into a Battlefield like vaulting system and more destruction. Maybe they will look into changing up the leaning mechanics a bit.
Next month at the latest.
Totally addicted, this game is great. Everyone is so nice. >_>
I got this pretty ridiculous kill yesterday with the S686 on a guy driving off. You can see me turn back after the last shot as I was astounded I actually killed him in a car from that far away - https://streamable.com/jfg1b
You playing squads? In solos all I ever hear is the N-word, weird insults about Nigeria, and Islamophobic shit.
Just bought it, can definitely see what the hype is about. It's a nice change to have a game where everyone starts on the same level and excluding a bit of luck it's totally skill based instead of grinding a stupid amount of hours for better gear.
Can let it slide a bit as still early access but too many similarities to H1Z1, I mean did they steal their code base or something? The engine looks exactly the same, the timer animations are the same, if I didn't know any better I'd say it was just a mod!
This is based on the ArmA engine. I'm not sure if H1Z1 is, too.
If anything this game feels more like an ArmA mod. The way aiming works, the way movement works, etc.

This makes sense, since Brendan Greene, the game-developer of Battlegrounds, made a similar mod for DayZ and Arma 2 and co-developed H1Z1: King of the Kill (Source). But the engine for Battlegrounds is Unreal 4.If anything this game feels more like an ArmA mod. The way aiming works, the way movement works, etc.

I still can't hit anything with crossbow, never picking up that shit again, got me killed. It feels so strange.
I also received one of those 25% off GMG coupons for three people.
Quote to reveal
Yeah, it's not the Arma engine, not sure where that came idea came from.
According to Google battlegrounds runs on unreal engine 4 and H1Z1 runs on forge light so I guess they just took inspiration and copied several designs.

I'd also take a GMG code if anyone has one
If anyone still has a GMG code to spare I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands!
Been dying to try this game!
Public proximity chat? Not even once.
That's weird. I had two friends verbally tell me that.
Bizarre. Sorry to be wrong.
Why are people so fucking retarded on the mics at the start of games?

The game is designed to feel more like ARMA than anything else, so that's probably where it came from.
Player unknown created the battle royalty mod for Arma 3 as well. Probably where the confusion comes from.

I haven't followed the news for this game much, just purchased early access and love it though. I am interested in how they're going to develop their rewards...are they waiting until full release to have a decent reward system? Because right now it's the worst thing about the game.
Ya they stated they didn't want to work on that/monetize it till closer to release. They feel doing that during early access would not send a good message.
... he thought I was another filthy camper.
Never underestimate the potential for 'throw and hope' grenade action, I can't believe this actually worked

Public proximity, every single time. I was playing with some guys from the PUBG GB discord a couple of nights ago, we were using discord for chat, but I also had the in-game chat open. We've finished raiding the apartments in Yasnaya and spot a bike with a side car. One of our team-mates is dead, so we're set to GTFO on the bike before the blue line kills us.
As we run towards the bike, I hear a new voice.
"I hear footsteps!"
"There's a squad of guys coming building, come help me quick."
"Oh shit, I think they saw me, they're coming to my building now."
"Oh shit, they're surrounding me."
So we set an ambush for his squad coming in, and then brutally murdered him as he shouted "THIS IS F**KING BULLSHIT!"
If he had stayed quiet, or if I wasn't in team-chat, we would have just got on the bike and got the hell out. Instead, we got a shit tonne of meds, and some 4x scopes which were much needed.
