PLAYERUNKNOWNS BATTLEGROUNDS Early Access Thread: This Is Battle Royale

I'm the one who claimed this game's OT when nobody cared too much about it, since it grew a lot in popularity I'm asking you guys what do you want to see in such OT, these are my suggestions;
For the title and general aesthetic I thought it would be cool to make it look like a Battle Royale (the film) propaganda poster, the title would be "Life is a Game" as reference to the movie, but I'm open to whatever you guys think and want better than my ideas, it is an OT for you, after all.

- Maps and interest points
- Information about how to travel the world and which way is the most efficient in the current patch

- Streamers and good yt videos/channels about the game
- Collection of gifs with kills, etc.
- Keep it minimal and easy to navigate
- Acess to discords and list of players who are willing to play and in which regions
- Leaderboard with the best players in GAF

Also, many people report you get an advantage from having higher ping on the other servers, so any advantage is probably compounded.

I think I might have the worst aim of anyone in this game. A few days ago I crept into a house and saw a guy crouched, looking through a window. He didn't see me at all and I got the jump on him and I still missed like 90% of my shots and he got the kill ;~;
I noticed that you can play with a controller as well. Is there any way to invert the y axis for controller? I didn't really see any controller options.

Man, I'm struggling with the keybindings, there are too many keys for my classic esdf control scheme.
Get a mouse with more buttons. I put the most important actions on the G502, extra mouse Burton's like reload or prone, etc.

FWIW, I've had some better luck after remembering that this is/was an ARMA mod. Those games strive for realism, so I've adjusted my gameplay a bit.
Put everything very low.
If you shoot a bullet, that sorts it out.
I was watching a stream of Grimmz and he had the same issue, and also knew the fix.

They decide to drop hospital.
Fourth guy is an AFK.
Squadmates go down instantly.
Kill one guy downstairs.
Kill his two remaining buddies with an Uzi.
Just as I'm finishing looting, two or three full squads pull up on hospital and have a massive shootout.
Stutterstep trying to figure out who's killing who.
Finally move and realize that the squads outside killed all of the squads inside hospital.
Grab a damaged UAZ and rush to near final circle.
Top 10.
Two guys I was waiting on rush toward me while I wait in a bush.
I give some poor SOB the scare of his life by shooting him at point blank out of my bush, I run out of ammo and die switching guns when his squadmate turns around and tries to get me.
Well that was fun.

OP - I like all your ideas as far as the OP text...that theme is cool and I would keep it simple. Focus on discords, connecting people with others, and the community. There's so much inside baseball with this game it's best to learn it from others.

The steering on the bike is the weakest aspect of the game's controls.
Same. What ended up working was restarting my game until it stopped being choppy. Weird, I know. It's very inconsistent. I'm able to put AA, textures, view distance on ultra and everything else on very low. Doesn't make much sense. If my frames are finally smooth and then I alt-tab out of the game & back in, it's choppy again. I don't get it.

What? It's by far the most maneuverable vehicle in the game.

Yeah, I made some tweaks and I seem to get a fairly consistent 80fps. Just sucks because I'd really like to stream this game.
Same here. Can't stream with this ridiculous frame lag and inconsistency with the performance.

Weird, I went into a match where all my clothe items were unequipped. Fixed itself.

I rarely play singleplayer, because it's kinda boring imho.
But my friends ditched me, so I had no other choice.
I played extremely defensive (all three kills were during the last 10 players phase). Killed the first two with my VSS (not my favorite weapon, but circle was small and god bless silencer).
Then: Last circle and no idea where the last enemy is. Tall grass around us. He tries to guess where I am and shoots through the grass left and right of me (UZI, I suppose).
My heart is pumping and I'm still lying there in the grass. No new circle. I never encountered the next phase. New short cowntdown, but no new circle (OMG, SHIT SHIT SHIT),
the blue barrier HURTS AS FUCK, have to get up, see the enemy, shoot at him with SCAR (red dot), he is still alive (WTF.jpg), lie down again by accident, continue shooting, I AM ALMOST DEAD,
and he finally DIES with no bullet left in my magazine and my health bar in shambles.

This is incorrect. Face shots on level 1/2 helms still get reduced by helmets. This was tested by JackFrags (I believe) a while back.

Ctrl to slow walk, C to crouch walk, both for slow crouch walk.
There's no way to eliminate noise completely if someone's listening and nearby (especially in buildings) but that's the closest way.
Thanks! I never figured out how to slow walk in this game. I was hoping that putting on some sneakers instead of some punk boots would reduce the noise but alas.
Crouch + hold rmb to aim over the shoulder. Most quiet movement in the game. Also the slowest.

I dont know how y'all play with crouch on C. I immediately rebound it to Left-Ctrl.
Fuck taking my finger(s) off WASD to crouch (moving my index to C makes my middle finger slightly lift off of W), especially when I crouch-toggle a lot in 1v1 combat.

No but seriously, I don't know about you, but I don't have to forego any WASD movement because i'm pressing C occasionally. My fingers don't lift off WASD.
Didn't know about a night map or why is your sky black?
Good call. Maybe 'cause of the blue barrier and me taking damage? Dunno.

I mapped crouch and prone to my mouse buttons 3 and 4. Made a huge difference

I may have misspoke. Pressing C with index makes my middle finger a little less 'confident' I guess is how I would put it. In any case, strafing while crouch-toggling is much easier with crouch bound to L-Ctrl.
Yup, and I've unbound (well, bound it to END, which is basically unbound), the V keystroke (First-person Toggle) because I used to keep hitting it when attempting to toggle firing modes with B.

The crashing has been getting worse for me. The last two games in a row caused my entire computer to shut off. It's wild that my computer is struggling to run it on the lowest settings possible when I can run most new releases on high-ultra no problem.
Still a great time when it does work.
