M16 is basically a budget DMR. It would argue its better than sks and worse than m14 at the dmr role. Actual snipers beat it of coarse.

IMO the SCAR should have the ability to use a cheek pad. IRL the scar can be fitted with a cheek pad and even has a built in cheek extender thingy in the default stock.

Bluehole and PU have made some head scratching decisions when it comes to weapons. Here are a few of my gripes.

1. The vector is the most OP smg IRL, its fire rate and accuracy should make it superior to the UMP in game at the very least. Right now there is no reason to pick up the vector, its a useless gun. It was fine before the nerf.

2. The VSS is garbage IRL and in game. Why even add it?

3. What is it with using such boring, and relatively old guns, (AKM, SKS, Groza, VSS) when weapons like the Tavor, Atrax, 805 bren, SCAR Mk17, AK12, and other modern firearms exist? Its like this game was made in the mid 90s or something. All they need is an AK74 to complete the eye rolling soviet garbage parade. Is it possible the weapon choices are solely due to the maps setting (Russia)? I have heard that maps will each have their own weapons to fit a theme, but I think that might be a rumor.

4. If not a cheek pad, why can't the scar take a tac stock? A lot of scar 16 and 17 owners replace the default stock because it rattles terribly. It is a gun that accepts after market stocks.

5. Pistols should take muzzle attachments beyond suppressors.

6. Why does the same 762 ammo that goes into the AKM, SKS and Groza also go into the M14, KAR98 and M24? For those that are not aware the AKM, SKS and Groza use 7.62x39 while the KAR98k uses 7.62x57 Mauser and M24/m14 use 7.62x51 NATO. These are completely different cartridges. If BH is worried people would get confused they could just change 7.62x51 to .308 which is virtually identical to 7.62x51 and hand wave away the ancient KAR98k cartridge as many KAR98ks have been re-chambered into .308. Basically I am arguing that .308 should be an ammo you pick up for the big guns.

7. After my diatribe in 6 I am realizing that the SKS is kinda worthless when the AKM exists. Replace it with the 7.62x51 FN FAL (known as the right arm of the free world) if you have to use old guns. Would be great as a spawn DMR below the MK14ebr and above the AKM.

3. lol what? The guns in this game are classics. The AK, the M16, HK M416, SKS, VSS, etc are all well known firearms. I'm a fan of each of these guns and of Soviet era weaponry in general. Considering this takes place on a Soviet era abandoned island, most of the guns (AK, SKS, KAR98, etc) make sense.

6. Hard to argue with this, but a ton of different ammo types in game would indeed confuse people. Adding .308 would make sense, though. They have the same issue with the magazine upgrades. How can one mag upgrade fit an AK chambered in 7.62 as well as an AR chambered in 5.56. Hell, on top of that it fits a 12 gauge shotgun (S12k). That's one versatile magazine.

Finally, the last circle closes to the point where it would simply kill everyone still alive. At this point, my friend says he hears someone moving around underground below us. We load up on energy drinks and boosts and then just before we die, the player who glitched into the ground underneath us dies. Winner winner, chicken dinner, cheater reported, and I got it all on video.

I spawned at the lobby island during a solo match. I ended up making it into the top 3.

If you're wondering how it happened, I alt-tabbed out of the game for a minute or 2 while waiting to find a match. When I went back to the game I found myself on the island with the player count in the corner. I thought I had lost connection and was alone in the world but the match was ongoing.

I am a devout believer in the "Invisible Parachute" glitch. There's been enough times where I'll land near my duo partner and see one other guy falling and then when we land suddenly there was a second guy who also landed but never once saw his parachute.

You sure you didn't have the circle over the bunkers? Theres a large underground series of tunnels. In that case you'd be isolated.

My first win was achieved in Duos with my buddy! We were pretty unlucky with loot most of the match and I had even been downed by the red zone while indoors, but we snuck our way into the top and it was glorious.

So I decided to do a little thing. Inspired in equal parts by Dan Gheesling and Cash Cab, I played random duos and then did a trivia show with my teammate while we played. People were about as confused by the idea as you'd expect, but they by and large went along with it. One match even resulted in a win.

Then I ended on a run where I should not have survived Lipovka, let alone made it to the final four. Where I ever-so-kindly got a posthumous grenade kill to turn it into a duel that I couldn't be part of and seemed kinda lame and campy anyway.

You have to have bad guns to make the good guns feel good. I'm way more in favour of an exagerated reality that affords more variety and fun than any attempt to simulate the specifications of guns. There's also a lot of value in achieving success with a bad weapon. That's a huge part of this game's early phase.

No, it's more prevalent because lack of free information favors the camper. It turns any blind corner into a viable camping spot versus just areas that have long chokepoints for third person.

I've never noticed the camping to be that bad really, but I definitely encounter more of it in TPP than FPP.

On the rare occasion I have been killed by someone camping, I think fair enough, you probably heard me coming. I would do the same if I heard someone coming into the building I was looting.

New to this, done about 8-9 games and this happened to me last night.

I should have died. I thought the guy missed, but on rewatching I noticed the hole in the closed door after. I think when I did a double take after looking in the corner I shut the door as I turned back to shoot, the door clipped through me and ate his shotgun round instead of me?

Still lesson learned, don't push closed buildings so recklessly in the late game.

Was a nice spot, got 3 people from inside that building shooting out the hole in the door until I had to move on. Though I was pissed when I died at the end, felt like I got 1 shotted from full health by a SCAR even with a level 2 helmet. Can't complain too much though, 5 kills total and finished 8th.

Yeah, VSS is very good weapon (in solo and duo), just bit harder/different to use than other weapons.

That is extremely not true, TPP favors campers in all scenarios much more

I've only played a few games but it's not been as bad as I thought, only really at the end when there is a building in the middle of the circle has it happened.

I get bored easier in FPP when camping as you can't really look at as much so it makes sense to just go out and see whats happening.

Here's me clumping from building to building, trying not to have an anxiety attack whenever I hear footsteps while he's in the Matrix?

My friend and I got in a gas station near the endgame (not the most defendable building, lots of big open windows and a open backdoor) and the circle kept being on us so hell yeah we camped that building (also we couldn't leave because we were surrounded).

At the end it was the only building in the circle and people kept trying to take it over and use it for cover. It was super intense and there was so much shooting right outside our walls. We had very limited angles to peek without exposing ourselves, but we had to really aggressive defend those angles to maintain some sort of control. Got a few frags and knockdowns before we ended up in a 2v1 and took the chicken dinner.

I don't think they will ever change the mag thing. I don't think people will like remembering what mag or muzzle goes with what caliber bullet. What they could do is introduce the term battle rifle. BRs are, generally, .308 assault weapons and could share equipment. Examples (which you likely already know) are the mk14ebr, FN FAL, SCAR 17s, Galil ACE .308, HK G3 (OMG WANT!).

Not sure what to do about the SKS other than remove the mag mod and increase its capacity to 15. It is NOT really a sniper rifle, it should use AR attachments. Also, why doesn't the VSS use SMG parts? Would that make it more viable?

People scoff at what I say but in looking at the real guns we can better balance these as well. The SKS would be a great option as a semi-auto that takes AR parts and a cheek pad. Basically an early game DMR/headshot gun do to its higher muzzle velocity.
