PLAYERUNKNOWNS BATTLEGROUNDS Early Access Thread: This Is Battle Royale

Is there a way to bail out of a car moving at speed?

Every time I do, I die from "falling", which I assume is just the car clipping me as it keeps moving when I get out.

Maybe that's a sign to stop getting out of cars at a high speed 😂

To avoid the problem that H1Z1 had of people rolling up in cars at high speed and destroying people, you take massive (most times fatal) damage when ejecting from the car at high speeds. Slow down first.

I've reached a skill plateau where I can easily get to top 20-30 on my belly, coming as high as 4. But if I don't engage in much combat along the way, I tend to end up with only a shotgun and/or SMG in the endgame- which seems inherently balanced.

I feel like there are several walls you run into as you play this game. At least that's how it's been for me, though it might be a different learning curve for people that take the approach of dropping in highly contested areas to get better at the gun play.

The first wall is being able to get into the end game (final 10 or so) with some regularity. The next one is being able to make it into the last 1 or 2 circles when there are only 2-3 players left. The last one is winning your fair share of those final showdowns.

If you are getting to the final 20-30 players under-geared you may not be looting enough in the early game. Your strategy may be different, but I try to get far away from the plane path and somewhere where there should be plenty of places to loot. The first circle placement and whether or not you find a vehicle will have some affect on how much time you have before you need to move on. If I don't think I have the right gear/items to have a fighting chance in the end game, I'll keep searching until I find what I need or die trying. Hunting and killing someone else for their gear is an option too. No sense stealthing my way all the way to the end game only to not have much of a chance because all I have is a pistol and a shotgun. Again, strategies may vary but my goal is always to find a backback, helmet, armor, 1 gun that can hit at least mid range, 1 gun that can go full auto for short range (shotgun would be ok here if you like shotguns...I don't), a decent enough amount of health and boost items, and ideally some optics and upgrades for my guns. Usually I find an adequate load out just from looting away from the plane path but sometimes the RNG is less kind and I need to continue to loot even as the circles converge and it's more risky. Finding a vehicle is nice because you can relocate to yet another safer area away from the plane path if your first area came up short.

But this is Battle Royale, not Defensive Driving Simulator

I can queue as a solo into a public squad match? That sounds lulzy.

Definitely a series of walls appropriate to each individual's skill level. I had my own wall to face just for basic gunplay. I'm still hopeless at anything over 10m.

Yeah, that's the cycle I'm trying to break. The concern is if I try to loot too much and am late to the circle, others have set up superior position inside. But I hear what you're saying- look for your "personal good enough" loadout.

Is it just me or is hipfire in fps mode just absolutely fuckin useless?

No, it's not worthless. I get a lot of kills with it. Early game I use pistols a lot in hip fire. I spray my AKM in full auto with hip fire to great success.

You need to hit a object mid air to cancel your horizontal velocity to negate the falling damage. I don't know if it still works but I've seen it done before, usually lined up with a tree (though I imagine it would work with any stationary object) and jumping out at the right second,

Did they change the date on being able to sell the Gamescom stuff? Mine says the 14th. Thought it was suppoosed to be tonight?

I am new to gaming PC ,and I am a noob still with keyboard and mouse. Questions:
1. Does it support controller ?
2. How hardcore is the community ?
3. Perks of being early access?
4. After the early access ends, will the price increase ?
5. So this is like call of duty in 3rd person, gameplay wise ?

1. Yes, but its just alright implementation, probably just considered bad.
2. Varies, it has a hidden MMR so youll get dropped into games with similar range of skilled opponents
3. You can play it now and the dev team is adding great features based on player feedback
4. No
5. Not at all.

So I'm having trouble doing a Steam Controller Config with a DS4 for this game. How do I make the ADS work if I tap L2 and have it focus the cross-hairs if I hold L2??

So are people just nuts for buying clothes in this game? I was stunned to see the checkered shirt I got at nearly $20 CAD on the market.

1x Camo Cap, 2x Yellow Track Tops, 2x School Pants 1x Black Mandarin Jacket.

What prices have you listed those items for/what do you think they're worth?

I currently have a camo cap and the black and yellow mandarin jackets, I also have the purple rarity black/grey tracksuit top(currently ~$35) and the white schoolgirl sneakers and socks(currently $38). I guess the prices should go up after Gamescom?

Its tough to say because the market could get flooded with them

I guess the aim significantly tightens up when you hold right click? I might have to start trying that more for closer range encounters where I need to get off shots ASAP.

Bought this yesterday. Got to 18th in my first solo game, though I didn't do anything other than getting 1 kill with a pistol. Took me like 3 game to figure out how to use sights lol. Now I just need to learn about which bullets and attachments go to what to start being somewhat efficient looting. Might have to rebind the interact button to E as playing so much Hitman makes to always think to use that button instead of F
