Sometimes you feel bad when you start the game with a cheap campy kill
But then it's all good when you parley that into a chicken dinner you definitely earned
First off, don't have your headphones on backward, like I do half the time.
Then, it's really all about zeroing in on the sound of the gunshot from the enemy location and ignoring the snaps and whizz of the bullets when they're at you. I wouldn't stake my life on it, but I'm pretty sure that the game does supersonic ammunition right so that you'll actually hear whatever sound the bullet makes near you before you hear the pop from the barrel of the gun. But yeah, the nearby sounds of the bullets won't do anything but throw you off. Listen for the dull, distant sound. Unless they're like right next to you, of course.
I see, thanks. Im not using my headphones admittedly, as I can't get my dumb PC to pick up my mic (Cloud Core headset)
No idea how to fix it, so Im a terrible teammate that can't communicate, and theres no text chat.
Anywho, outside of the sound direction, I just feel like once I get shot at from a distance, its game over for me. Ideally, Im running into a house, but I just feel like I can't force an engagement like I can in nearly any other shooter because I either can't see the enemy, or by the time I do, Im getting shot to death.
Coupled with the terrible feeling hit detection (in terms of feedback and putting shots in, etc), it just feels unfun
For example, Ive gotten into many face to face confrontations that have just been about holding down the shoot button and seeing a lifeless/unreactive body shoot back.
Its hard to explain, because obviously when you are face to face, thats exactly how it should go down, but this game just feels like I have no idea whats going on, or die instantly despite shooting at an enemy as well.... are they just better equipped than me? Are headshots instant kill?
Lack of a kill cam really sucks because it could help me understand.
