PLAYERUNKNOWNS BATTLEGROUNDS Early Access Thread: This Is Battle Royale

Trying to prevent somebody from making a living for the lulz isn't much of a joke. I suspect if it weren't for the stream sniper ban fiasco more people might realize this.

Was watching Doc play yesterday and there were honking stream snipers in practically every match. Just turned it off after awhile.

Definitely need a client option to disable horn sounds.

Why is there any onus whatsoever on how other people are playing their game to how someone decides to make a living? If a stream sniper made a living on honking their horn instead, why is that person's means of living superseding the other? Do you actually see it possible that there be a distinction between making a joke out of the situation versus preventing somebody making a living, or does the issue not extend any further as far as taking ownership in how people are allowed to engage with a game?

Hoping 4entro can do some damage in team formats the next few days. Solo 3PP is flukey but everyone assuming that EVERMORE doesn't have gun skill is ridiculous.

I wonder how much hearing damage is going to happen if tournaments like this become popular. The pressure to crank up the volume with those over-ear headphones has got to be massive. Then again CSGO is already popular and that's similar.

I'm pretty sure the gun volume will never be reduced, but if the buggy could at least make a less ear-splitting sound in first person I'd be happier.

just started watching. 2 minutes of watching a dude wiggle back and forth to see around the corner of a window. pretty great example of why third person is silly for this ahah. looking forward to the FP tournament tomorrow. hope today's spectating is better, I didn't see yesterday but heard about it

I didn't know there was going to be a FPP tournament, but I'm happy to hear that.

I like to imagine Irish dance music playing while someone is mashing left and right on a rock, or managing their inventory. I know it's to avoid being headshot as easily, but it looks so silly.

The casters begging to please show some of the kills instead of Evermore cheesing it out in the water and they just don't switch.

When did Juan and Evermore die? I assume they must have died in the 20-30 range because they were in the water last I saw them and I never saw them in a firefight.

Why are they spectating people when the circle is this small? Just hover over and see everything :(

also it looked like at least two of the players were not in the circle during the last 1-2 minutes, but weren't taking any damage? did i see that right?

Beats me. I think they did it yesterday too. Also the hover camera appears affected by the blue zone or a similar effect so there's not a very clear field of view.

I think it's cool the duo winners weren't any of the team name people like C9 etc.

Well done to the Turkish team on that first win. 11 kills between them. If they place well in the next two, those kills could give them the edge to take it.

If they were smart, they would try to squeeze their way into top 10 in the next two games by any means necessary. Once you get a win I feel like the format behooves you to just try and stay alive and minimize battles to increase your rating, like we saw yesterday with EVERMORE.

I'm not sure if that's tougher to do in Duos or not. Evermore went for a similar strategy of playing passively and trying to get a high placement by driving into the water in the last game, and his team is ranked 16 right now.

The circumstances are different though. His strat worked yesterday because he had already won a game prior to that. Playing super passive and aiming for top10 is only effective if you have at least one first place already.

Is there any way to tell where someone is shooting you from? I have such a hard time telling. Was doing great in a solo fpp but got caught in a forest, couldnt get back on my bike, and just got picked off

The thing is, it requires perfect listening. If you spin the camera, or freak out, it's going to be a lot harder to pinpoint the gunfire. I wish there was a shooting range so that people could practice listening, shooting, etc.

People keep pointing this out but it's very difficult for me to understand. I can identify gun sounds from a distance and care packages but bullets cracking and whizzing is a whole other level and the only way to try and figure it out is in live games. The example picture is always if you are looking at the shooter which isn't always the case

So restarting my computer literally fixed it. What the hell. PUBG you weird.

Thanks everyone for help and suggestions though, much appreciated <3

So this might sound crazy but the exact same thing was happening to me last night. Coincidence?!
