PLAYERUNKNOWNS BATTLEGROUNDS Early Access Thread: This Is Battle Royale

Why doesn't the guy just HOVER over an area rather than going to the perspective of every single FREAKING individual?

Some of it is the player perspective, so it's a literal camera switch on a switchboard in production, it's not just up to the observer to decide what they're looking at. I said this yesterday, but I think they're trying to hide the texture load-in that happens when you teleport across the map as an observer and they regularly mess up the camera switch to hide it.

This stream is such a perfect example on how TPP makes this game look dumb.

They made a verb out of it even, 'third-personing' the windows.

I doubt there's a good way of doing so, but I personally wouldn't mind if spazzing around on the spot constantly to avoid getting hit wasn't a thing.

Lol, this is weird as hell. sixteen dudes swimming while one guy is picking them off.

Hell yeah pro strats with the bike. Told you guys that the bike is life.

Need to take damage to bullets when in the water bluehole (no doubt mitigated). Penetration isn't that hard to code.

People keep pointing this out but it's very difficult for me to understand. I can identify gun sounds from a distance and care packages but bullets cracking and whizzing is a whole other level and the only way to try and figure it out is in live games. The example picture is always if you are looking at the shooter which isn't always the case
It's very tough imo to apply this in practice. I've been getting better at it, and using headphones helps a hell of a lot. If you're using speakers, Rip.

broken record, but holy shit that camerman is TERRIBLE! This is embarrassing, impossible to get a feel for the match.

Even the commentators are getting pissed, they should be in control maybe? F sakes.

there was a split second where the camerawork was good, it was when it overviewed the whole beach, andd it goes back to the non-action players. plus they missed the final showdown.

There are nearly a hundred perspectives, this is not something that the casters can realistically handle while also casting.

I could see the case for a third person on the casting team who has control of the observer cam and could communicate to both the casters, viewer, and production simultaneously to arrange good perspectives. Production could switch over to player cams when necessary, and the viewer is more informed on what the observer is doing and why.

I'm still not sure of the rationale as to why they don't use the hover cam more often towards the end of the game. Maybe they want to show off the player perspective more for marketing reasons?

It's a little annoying how much the production camera crew is hovering over "variety" streamers and youtube content producers instead of you know, the esports teams you invited to the event. Why hasn't TSM been on camera? Rare glimpses of Liquid and LG and C9 but no information or profiles on their players? You don't need to pan to One Shot Annie or Forsen every time you need to fill a gap.

It's what the kids want.

I heard/read yesterday that there's a 4 second delay in changing views for the observer. Doesn't fix all of the mistakes, like moving away from a fight to some random guy running through a field, but if that's true, it would make it harder to get to developing action quickly.

In the future chickens have gone extinct due to the bird flu. A hundred warriors compete for the honor of having one of the last chickens for dinner.

Hey it's possible, i was thinking something like unreal tournament 1 where deep space miners kill each other for sport.

TPP is so garbage

This 2v2 house camp fest thats happening is a snore

I just want to know how these teams deal without that camera as a crutch. It seems the entire game strategy here is centered around 'third-personing' the camera around while safely behind a wall.
