Alright, something is fucked up with either my PUBG or my SSD or maybe the latest Nvidia driver update. Getting a ridiculously low drop of frames on a 1070 with a Ryzen 7 1700 that I'm pretty certain I shouldn't be getting. I'm not talking one or two frames, I'm talking going all the way down to 12 FPS and staying down there.

I've verified the game through Steam, reset in-game settings to default and ensured they aren't being tweaked by Geforce Experience. I don't think it is my SSD that the game is installed on just because I tested No Man's Sky, LoL and Prey with all of those titles getting 60 FPS easily. Is anyone else experiencing this literally unplayable nature of the game at all?

You using the new ingame moment capture thing? Found that knocked my fps a bit (1700/ssd too), i stick with just recording the whole thing and editing it after now.

Even when there's a delay of 4 seconds when switching POV, there's no explanation for switching to the static map camera all the time when you clearly have some action incoming, escpecially when its one of the last few circles - where you can literally see the WHOLE playground with all remaining players in the bottom right corner

Funny enough that's the first thing I turned off as soon as it was implemented. What is weird was that this wasn't an issue two nights ago, then last night it just suddenly started lagging massively after I updated my drivers. I'll give uninstalling and reinstalling a try, maybe something went screwy when I tried removing mouse smoothing as per a user suggested.

I was having the same problems some weeks ago. Turned out the game for some reason did not like being in borderless window all of a sudden...

I can't deny I had a chuckle at the video. But I also completely understand where Grimmmz is coming from. He's become noticably more fed up with the game and streaming over the past few weeks, almost directly relatable to the time when the Reddit hivemind hatewagon started. I suspected this was the case and now my thoughts were confirmed with his message yesterday evening.

I'm not surprised the dude snapped, he was having people shitting on him and going out their way to ruin his time on the game and his stream (which is now his livelihood) very very regularly during each session.

I just tried a complete uninstall and it was still dropping to the single digits so I'll give this one a try. Otherwise I'll try moving to my other SSD and if that fixes it I will still have no clue why something as intensive as Prey is okay yet this isn't.

Watched some of the main coverage of the invational last night. Thought it was really well done and very entertaining. Good to hear presenters that at least sound natural and seem know what they are talking about.

Love when they pull the camera out for firefights and the highlighting of player positions. Looking forward to Duo FPP tomorrow so people can stop relying on the camera to get info.

I had a problem recently of awful performance after having some pretty solid FPS for my games, checked my settings and it turns out the game had changed all my settings, reset me back to windowed fullscreen mode.

Changed it to fullscreen and it instantly felt better to play.

It also bumped all my settings to random ones from the low settings I had set.

I just played with the most skilled player I've ever encountered. In duo FPP mode they didn't talk at all, and sadly my microphone wasn't working. I tried unplugging, replugging, toggling voice chat, but nothing worked. I guess it requires a game restart to pick it up.

They dropped at the school, and I dropped at the school. They proceeded to kill something like 7 players, and revive me after I got knocked out. Of course, I didn't kill anyone, or maybe there was a kill shot of someone knocked out, who knows. I kept following them across the map. They got in a vehicle and drove, looted some places, did some fights, ended up with an AWM + M249. I got a bunch of scopes and meds just looting the people they would kill. I still never killed anyone. Eventually they started talking in the top 20-30. They finally teamkilled me when I ran out of meds and was knocked out in the blue at #10 or so.

They got #2 because just before they would have won, they jumped across some rocks in a cliff edge and fell down a giant chimney with no exit, just outside the circle. They then slowly died, firing their M249 the whole time, so sad/funny.

Of course, as with any good teammate in PUBG, Google refuses to let you search the exact name even with "allintext:", ignoring the hyphen. Steam community search is terrible as always, ignoring the hyphen and giving you 200,000 results instead. And so, I'll never find them. :(

Nope, so turning it to fullscreen still exhibited abhorrently low frames. I'm going to try pushing it across to a different SSD and if that doesn't solve it then I'll try a rollback on drivers. This is getting to be ridiculous.

Hmm, if you did find the correct profile on that site. Did that player have profile picture there? It's a longshot, but you can try to google reverse image search that profile picture with player name included. Maybe then google finds correct steam profile.

Fuck, I want to play this. After ignoring the hype since it came up I watched quite a few matches and I think this game really fits my (usually frowned upon) style of hiding/camping in multiplayer shooters. :D

How is the matchmaking? Is there a ranking/epxerience level that's being considered (like in rocket league for example) or do you have to play against cracks who know every inch of the map from the beginning?

I think puts you into skill brackets essentially based off your leaderboard performance. I may be wrong though.

3rd person queue has MMR formed by your performance in the game.

1st person queue doesn't have MMR yet as they don't track any stats for it.

Trying to prevent somebody from making a living for the lulz isn't much of a joke. I suspect if it weren't for the stream sniper ban fiasco more people might realize this.

Was watching Doc play yesterday and there were honking stream snipers in practically every match. Just turned it off after awhile.

Definitely need a client option to disable horn sounds.

Alright, shit is fucked. I tried all three of my HDD's, two of which are SSD's and every one of them has the game running at 12FPS. I have Prey, a much much more graphic intense game running at 100FPS. How is this even fucking possible...

They and community saw that forced patching schedule was causing issues and harm to the game along with what ever they added each time. Patches had too little time in oven and in QA.

Them being willing to break out of forced schedule and properly bake patches hopefully results in more finished patches that wont break shit like they used to.

I'm sure they'll still release patches regularly, but having deadlines and strict dates for patches just wasn't the best idea; if there's any unforeseen issue, as there was with the last patch, then the whole game goes to shit for 24-48 hours. Best to release them when they're actually ready and fully tested without unnecessary patch crunch.

At least before they had it so that if you instantly fire after stopping movement there is still cone of fire that can lead to a miss. Basically to make sure bullet hits right at point where you aim you should wait like 1s between stopping movement and firing.

With weapons like SKS and full autos that cone never really goes away, leading to some epic whiffs like one we saw yesterday in 1st round of solos tournament.

Alright I give up, game is fucked entirely for me. No issues playing graphic intense games like Dishonored 2, No Man's Sky and Prey, all three on either my SSD that runs PUBG or my normal Sata 3 HDD. I've uninstalled the game, re-downloaded, moved it across to all three of my HDD's and even tried running both it and Steam as admin. Nothing.

I am at a loss as to what the fuck could have changed in the last 24 hours that has tanked only PUBG's FPS with anything else performing perfectly fine.

One to try is...
  1. Go to: C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
  2. Delete all files in the folder (resets all settings)
  3. Start the game
  4. Redo settings
  5. Test
To see AppData you need set it show that hidden files and folders are shown by file explorer.

I got the Tracksuit Top (Yellow) but when I try and sell it, it doesn't exist in my steam inventory. What's going on?

I know about the Steam hold-thingy, however, I can't even -find- the item in my steam inventory. I can however find it in-game.

Does anyone know if holding W after dropping at 234 km/h has any effect on momentum, or did they patch it out? Is it just broscience that letting go of W has any effect on dropping speed?

Just hold W down. Letting go of it doesn't help you get any closer to the ground anymore.

dude use pubg.me instead, i really like to go around and play with randoms, this site helped find those really good or really funny players i played with

edit: my bad, turns out its the same thing as pubgtracker, forgot that every player i found had really unique steam id's, have you tried entering their pubg ign in the search bar lower left corner and invite them to your party? after that you could go play a game and sort everything out

Have you tried restarting your computer? That usually makes it run normally again when I start getting low fps

I've enabled and disabled Shadowplay with no real change in either scenario. I also ensured Geforce wasn't pushing settings but that wasn't the case at all and I feel like even if it was it shouldn't be a struggle for my 1070.

What is weird is that it doesn't feel like a graphical issue, rather it feels like the game isn't reading fast enough and causing a mass FPS drop and texture slow down. Lobby takes forever to load in and when I land buildings aren't exactly popping in but textures are taking their time to load completely. I even pushed everything to very low and it still had texture pop-in.

I sit at about 4GB usage which seems ridiculously high. At its peak I was getting about 13 FPS.

Oddly enough I haven't at all today while diagnosing so let me give it a shot. I'm at the end of my rope and have no real clue what else I could do to solve this. My only other solution is an entire wipe on all HDD's and OS which is extreme but I want some chicken dinner god dammit.

Just as a sanity check maybe run a performance test on your PC to make sure everything is working right. I think I used Userbenchmark and it helped me isolate a problem before. That should show if something is out of whack with a drive, your RAM, CPU, etc.
