Sometimes when I'm being shot my aim just gets thrown off completely, what causes this? It doesn't happen very often, then when I die my camera is all shaking.

OK I get you're trying to be funny, but as I said it's not often and I get shot plenty. It's not normal for the camera to shake like that.

Different guns have different impact values causing different levels of aimpunch. It's also obviously more noticeable if you're scoped in at higher magnifications.

My crazy win...

Drop Observatory and immediately get fucked. Mil-Base. I do my normal Observatory and Quarry run and then high-tail it to Primorsk to try and find a boat.

Star 1.) I do, but someone else is making their way to me and the boat as well. They've got an M24. RIP. I stay in the water and wait a bit to have the blue hit us so he has to push on me. The blue is coming in and then another car comes up behind the M24 bastard. I take this time to get in the boat and go for the ridge. I succeed.

Star 2.) I get to the ridge and someone from above immediately starts shooting, and hits a couple times before I dip back behind cover and resort to swimming underwater near the ridge. Someone else was too swimming near the ridge but I was closer to land. We were fucking around with one another for a good 5-10 minutes. He knew he was fucked and when the blue zone hit he had to swim in and out of the blue zone. I killed him. I then decided to push up the ridge knowing there's someone with an AWM up there. Fuck. I hear it and see 5 dudes on the other side towards Mil-Base and know that this AWM guy is right next to me. I crawl into the zone now on the ground. I see AWM guy run RIGHT past me.

Star 3.) I've got AWM guy in my sights knowing he was going to win this fight against the other 4. Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom. 2 Remaining. Boom, Boom, Boom. 3 shots with an SKS, that fucker didn't know what hit him. Winner. Winner. Motherfucking. Chicken. DInner. Sorry for the book. I should NOT have won.

I get destroyed if anyone spots me in the water. Your head can still be sniped.

*edit* I've asked before but is there a trick to running and shooting? I've had someone run past a doorway and instakill me with an AKM headshot before, and just now I had someone run around a building at full speed and headshot me with a P1911.

If you miss the first shot against someone in water, they're now practically invincible for however long breathing lasts and you don't know exactly where they'll come up.

The running shit can just be luck or they stop long enough to ADS you.

There wasn't stopping, they just ran full speed (or whatever the speed is short of sprinting) and continued on afterwards.

And in water, they'll run out of breath quite quickly, and they can also get the bug (glitch? feature?) where the lung icon disappears and they just randomly start taking damage if they go underwater more than a couple of seconds. They also have to surface for air for a few seconds or their lungs won't recharge even without the bug (glitch? feature?).

I'm feeling like my luck is not great tonight. I did 4 school drops in a row, and saw a gun in 1 of them, a crossbow in another (technically I found a pistol just before dying but that was after being in the building for a while).

I eventually decided to go somewhere unoccupied. I checked two barns and got an unscoped sniper rifle. The other player checked one barn and got a SCAR.

I did yet another faraway drop. At the outside edge of a circle, very far away from the white, in a tiny shack where I'm 80% certain no one had seen me, I sat there maybe 5 minutes. Upon leaving the shack I died within 10 seconds by someone who was sitting inside the doorway of a two story building like 50 feet away. If they really hadn't seen me and had just been sitting in that particular doorway at the far edge of the zone, that's kind of astronomical. If they saw me they could have just thrown a grenade in.

*edit* I'm also getting obnoxious lag which feels like server stutter for a couple of seconds every once in a while.

Different guns have different impact values causing different levels of aimpunch. It's also obviously more noticeable if you're scoped in at higher magnifications.

To add to this, there are some bugs with the aimpunch as well as other things being factors I'm not sure of like where you get hit and armor level. I don't think there's an actual list of what modifiers actually affect the impact value, but I'm p sure they're exist.

The bugs are pretty noticeable though. Sometimes you just don't get the effect cause ???, sometimes you get inverted axis on it, sometimes the effect moves in a weird zigzag pattern if you take consecutive automatic shots. I haven't had that last one in a bit though, dunno if it's fixed or luck.

I get destroyed if anyone spots me in the water. Your head can still be sniped.

I mean if you're fully underwater your head can't even be hit so you're just invincible for the duration of the breathing timer, which is extremely lenient.

Both times I've found the MK14 rifle I believe haven't seen a single person and have died before ever firing a shot. Next time I pick it up I need to shoot it once just so I know what it feels like.

MY team always does that with silencers, whenever we find an AR or SR silencer, equip it and "warm it up" just to have fired it once.

The m249 used to be my cursed weapon... I had like 7-8 times and never got to shoot it at an enemy before dying to car accidents, blue circle or just getting sniped. But have since then managed to break that curse and used it to win 2 times now heh.

The only time I got it, I sat on top of a mountain with a 15x scope. Some dick pulled up in a jeep and one-shotted me with the AWM.

Speaking of the AWM, got that the other day for the first time in 200-ish hours, shot one guy directly in the chest then died to someone shooting at me from elsewhere, gg.

Still no FPP on OCE or any form of ETA, acknowledgement or general fuckery given. Really starting to sour me on what is otherwise a perfect game.

I'm still really curious to know what mode had that 17-kill game. In solo FPP I dropped in Pochinki and have seen literally no one since the first 20 seconds of the match to the point where 32 people are alive. Everyone just sits in buildings and once every 2-3 minutes you hear a Kar98k kill someone in one shot.

If you hunt players based on the plane drop path, it's not hard to get around 5~ and higher kills that way. If you play the last few circles correctly, getting 10~ kills all in that span of time is pretty doable. It's not uncommon to make it to last 20-30 alive on closing circles and just triple your kills.

That's the thing, I don't see how to hunt on the drop path unless I really should go building to building in Pochinki, in which case I'm extremely likely to die to someone in a corner with an AR or shotgun, or to whoever else hears my shots nearby. Is it really best to just practice building pushes? In which case, should I run or walk? Even walking makes noise, and any time I've tried to push in I've come straight against someone already crouched and aiming at the door with an AR.

Last game, I saw 2 vehicles speed by in the mid distance. The first actual human I saw killed me within half a second of me seeing them. They were crouching in a building, with 12 alive. I didn't find a soul before that outside a building.

You don't really wanna push buildings. If you know people are prolly held up in some place, just picking a safe spot where you can catch them moving to circle or peeking is fine. In an ideal scenario you want to get to areas where you can catch people moving as quickly as possible so they don't make it into buildings. The way the circles tend to play out means you rarely ever are forced to push buildings to find people.

The name of the game is mostly predicting how people are going to move around the map and just being in spots where they're going to cross you at a disadvantage.

stop playing TPP. People will always see you before you see them, if your new. Play FPP and enjoy.

That's what I'm saying, the plane path covers a bunch of high-building areas such as Pochinki (and I'm advised to hunt the plane path for high kills and high aggro play). Because the circle stays on the high-building areas for 15-20 minutes, those people have no motivation to leave their buildings, and thus I never see them.

Therein lies my confusion about how I should go about killing them without waiting 15-20 minutes. :p

I'm not sure if you saw my earlier posts, but I play about 97% FPP, which is where I've seen all of the aforementioned camping.

Its funny how you are discussing a 17 kill game when the last 4-5 of the hilight videos have all ended with montages of people getting 20-30 kills in various game modes.

Edit: Basically if you play the game a lot you "know" all the good spots where people are very likely to be, and then you drive around in a car specifically hunting for people to kill as many as possible.

None of those people posted here. The highlight video also had montages of people getting shotgun or revolver kills at great ranges, but I don't expect that to happen very often. :p Since someone posted here and I'm constantly getting games where I'm lucky to see 1-2 people, I wanted to ask how I can change this.

*edit* I just saw your edit. I try the car thing, but often I get sniped by a 4x/8x when far away, or killed by an auto, because I don't know how far to park the car without being seen and heard.

I added 8gb of ram to my 6 year old 2500k GTX 770 PC and it made a world of difference being at 16gb. Still fairly low frames though.

How exactly do you set it up? I already used the geforce overlay record function but can't for the life of me figure out how to get highlights working.

If you go to the Gforce Experience you'll see a list of all the games recognized by it, go to PUBG and click details to set it up. Make sure to select it ingame as well in the Settings menu.

I tried it but I am using 2 monitors and have discord up on the second monitor while playing (in real fullscreen) and the hilights UI would often appear in the discord window after a match or just lock up completely.

The overlay records your Primary monitor (I have 3 monitors) so make sure the one you game on is correctly set as the primary.

It records the right thing but the shadowplay overlay that pops up after a match or when pressing alt-z is being veeeeery finicky when playing in true fullscreen (not windowed borderless) and will occasionally show up on a discord window or not at all which then breaks the mouse forcing a ctrl-alt-delete.

Changed back to windowed-borderless and it seems to work fine, but it gives me a bit worse performance and less stable fps.

So I've noticed that many of the top streamers play female characters.

Do the female character models have a smaller hitbox or something? Or are they harder to see?

If I could set it up so it automatically mutes voice on the spawn island and plane and turns itself on when parachuting that'd be amazing.

So I'm trying to land at the school and other crowded venues to improve my shooting abilities, but I'm always one of the last players to land. I feel like I'm missing some key information about dropping or something. I try and wait until the plane is right overhead of my target drop point, and then I try and jump straight down.

I'm still always last though and miss out on all the guns. I have no idea how other people get there so quickly.

I think the key is to be diving completely downwards (hold W) then just before you pull out the parachute (keep an eye on the altitude meter on the left) you let go of W.

Got second yesterday with 4 kills, mostly thanks to silenced AKM and a 4X scope, was snaking into the final circle when someone jumped up, ran and immediately spotted me metres away. FUN tho.

Also want to add that people underrate the VSS, it's oh so quiet.

I've been watching streamers like Shroud, Doc, and Ninja...and I just don't understand how they see everyone before they've been seen themselves. It's like they know exactly where to look. And quite frequently, I'll watch them shoot into a field or windows or something and get kills, and I didn't even see anyone on stream. It's just insane...don't know how they do it.

You want to cover the horizontal distance first so you have as much vertical distance as possible to gain speed for the fast drop. After you are ~100/150 meters horizontal meters within your target area, point your camera straight down and hold forward. Once you hit 233/234 km/h you will fast fall once you hit the parachute release point. Just before the release, let go of W and ride the speed boost for a bit before making finer adjustments toward your target.

They are looking at a much higher resolution screen than you are. Also once you play enough you get a feel for where people are going to be. There are good spots and bad spots all over the map.

It's a beast. Got it from an airdrop and I ended up getting a 6 kill chicken dinner with it.

Don't forget you can just go pick one up off a table on Spawn Island to try it out.

Someone just stole my buggy while I was inside a house because it didn't make any noise when driving away...

I heard the steps, I heard the engine turn on, then it went silent, so I thought he was baiting me. Waited for a bit, check out the window, buggy gone. wtf.
