This has happened to me a few times.. suuuuuucks. One time I was on a motorcycle, doing pretty well and I accidentally hit F because I adjusted my hand and meant to turn right.

Feels bad, man.

I did this too, apart from I went one better and got knocked out by the rolling vehicle. Lol

I like how the building next to the police station that looks like a school in Polyana has all the gaps in the walls look like you can jump over them, but are placed about 1 pixel too high to actually jump through, making you die to one of the last few zones because you couldn't get through and had to run around and back out of the zone.

It's at the perfect troll height to where you swear you can make it and try repeatedly. I know I did my first time there, especially because of how far off the walk around point is.

Sometimes I just want to chill and play this game without headphones, but it's litterally impossible to do, get always killed easy in the mid game, if I make it out of the early game at all.

That's something console players will have to think about too, this game is really heavy reliant on a headphone setup. Personally I never wear them when I play console games.

I've never used headphones in this game. Managed to pick up a few chicken dinners along the way. I'd average about 5 or 6 kills a game I'd say.

One hundred and thirty seven hours for the first solo chicken dinner....
I'll never have solo chicken dinner in my life....

Keep the faith man I got mine nowhere near 100. Sub 25 I think so time played doesn't always count

Is bad hit detection a thing in this? Just pumped a bunch of bullets from an uzi close range into someone with no armor and they didn't die yet I go down with a level 2 vest.

Could be latency based. Hit detection has been overall pretty great for me personally.

I absolutely hate the Kar with a passion, it just feels so cheap dying in one shot to it, completely sucks the fun out of the game for me.

Took me about 5 tries to get a solo win. Got two top tens, one where I had 9 kills in 7th place but got one shot by a kar98k with a lvl 3 helmet. IIRC, you cant oneshot headshot a level 3 helmet with a 98K. feels bad man. I also had a couple encounters in my third game where I would shoot a dude 8m away with a shot gun, twice. No kill, no blood. Finally got my win, had to fight the last 1v1 against an AWM while I had a M416. Solo can be so frustrating, but so rewarding. My hands were shaking after that win.

edit: I love throwing smoke grenades in the end to distract people. Ill throw it away from the direction I'm heading.

I have a problem with my sound card at the minute (it randomly cuts out during waiting area) and its basically impossible to play with no sound - I didn't realise just how heavily I rely on directional sound in this game (both for tracking other players moving around nearby and finding/avoiding firefights.)

yep, literally the only game i have rn i don't/can't play while listening to other music or podcasts now lol

I would like to say a good fuck you to PUBG. The only thing I've ever run with my overclock that has crashed. Caused me to lose while in the top four with a M249. FUCK YOU

I had to lower my GPU overclock for PUBG, it's the only game in over 2 years that had an issue with it.

It has happened to me, total bullet sponges sometimes. It's frustrating.

Just won a Solo FPP game where I felt like I played completely solid the whole game with 6 kills. Felt good, always bothers me when watching streamers and youtubers always doing the right things to get wins and I always screw up somehow. Anyway I still should've died in the top 4 when I got sniped twice by an M24 and I had good armor, had barely any health left and went prone crawling in the thick field when his 3rd shot to finish me hit me in the pan! Praise the pan. He then got distracted by someone else since he made so much noise sniping me, I got up once healed and headshot killed him with my kar98, the other guy he was looking at got killed and eventually 1v1 with the last guy I found him in the grass and killed him easily.

That pan save was crazy though.

It's occasionally really bad, especially the first 2-5 mins of the match are abysmal hit detection/lag wise.

Same thing happened to me just now. I put 2 bursts to enemy with m16 in close range situation (like really close range, melee distance) and he didn't die. After bullet sponging like 6 bullets, he turns around and one shots me with a shotgun.
He didn't even have vest or helmet, but whatever. Can't really do much until they increase
current 10hz tick rate and fix netcode. Sigh.

PUBG is so weird, it does nothing but piss me off but I can't stop playing it, it's so addictive and I want to improve at it but it's so frustrating. I'm suffering with severe depression which I honestly think is causing the issue more than anything as I can't really enjoy anything, but I'm seeing the doctor on Tuesday so fingers crossed she'll pump me full of meds so my PUBG career can finally take off (joking, but I do think being happier/calmer in general will help). I've started to play less and watch more, I've never really been into Twitch but I've found a few streamers I like now (Shroud, Jackfrags, chocoTaco, Sacriel) so I usually watch them for a couple of hours in bed.

Dude get better for yourself, not PUBG performance.

If this is your first time going to a psychiatrist, don't have your expectations too high. Meds take a while to kick in and you may need to try multiple to get the right type and dosage. Therapy also helps a lot.

You were probably just joking, but there's no instant happiness or improvement, just a long road on the way to some kind of normalcy.

I would recommend Squads if you're looking for a more laid back experience. It's much easier overall, and nothing beats laying into a car with 4 people in it.

What's your ram at? Also are you running in an SSD or HDD? At least 8GB of RAM is best, and running in an SSD helps incredibly.

8 gb ddr4 . No ssd but only running at 1080p seems reasonable for the graphics unless it's the high player count that's demanding. Or it's badly optimized . It lags almost constantly but it's not like unplayable it's just unplayable for me because bad fps make me dizzy as f .

Edit - I'll try in like real low settings before I give up

This is one of the most satisfying, after a handful of 3rd-6th place finishes today.

Finally had a Kar with a 4x, got a car kill.

Had a silencer for my scar, and I got an m14 later in the round. First time ever seeing one, and man it is so good, though I only used it when I was already in a firefight with someone.

I got out of my truck soon after that screenshot, a dacia parked right behind me and we had a back and forth. Guy kept chucking nades at me so I just killed him, then my truck blew up as I was running away to his body (his body blew up as well).

Also had a guy who kept pinging me and I couldn't tell where from. he kept tagging the truck when I first ran to drive it, then I saw him on a rooftop and one shot him with the kar, felt so damn good.

Getting a ton of higher kill games solo now which feels so damn good.

The theme of the night: running across the map for 20 minutes straight because you can't find a single vehicle only to be gunned down by someone at the edge of the circle. I've been top #15 so many times to night just running and not seeing a single player.

Cool, get shot while hiding in one of the army base bunkers because TPP lets you do such a thing. But hey that's all we get to play because Bluehole won't fucking give us FPP on OCE, despite our population issue being proven wrong. Oh well, I'll just keep farming BP in hopes of unlocking a coat or something to earn some money for other games.

Yep. Initial 30 seconds of looting are a nightmare
This is why even when I -do- find anyone people early to practice shooting (e.g. school or military base if I'm lucky and people actually drop there), it's like a horror movie when everyone looks at loot and wonders if the game is going to actually register the pick up command before someone else has a fully loaded AR or auto-shotgun, or starts pistol headshotting everyone while running.

Wow don't know how you guys do it, I tried the ecommendations of playing with loudness EQ in the speaker options but makes everything too goddamn loud, I can barely hear anything over a red zone that's happening km away...

It's either Realtek loudness equalization and low volume, or basically mute the game for me. Otherwise gunshots are going to make my ears ring.

Even with loudness equalization the buggy is insanely loud in first person. I doubt they'll ever add gunshot volume limiting, but I wish they'd change the buggy.

Man I suck at this game. Been doing solo fpp and have gotten like 4 kills in about 4 hours. lol
You only need to kill the last guy! /s
But I feel ya. The build up is always so intense and takes a while and then it all ends in an underwhelming climax by getting shot in the face.
As a beginner is it a good idea to drop in a hot zone to get a hang of the shooting and aiming?

Also what is your experience with random quads? Do they communicate? Too many idiots? My social anxiety is probably preventing me from going that route anyway....

Whether in first-person or third-person, even expecting the areas people will run through, it's almost impossible for me to find anyone at this point. I landed in a town a few minutes ago with 6 people, saw 0. Landed in a different area, looted an entire town, got to the top 13, saw 0 people. Landed in school, saw 2 people parachute there but never found them. Landed in military base, maybe 2 other people dropped there.

It's kind of crazy.
I ended up top 13 in my second match just by having no clue and not engaging anyone unless I really had to. I had only a hand gun the entire match lol

My squad was doing pretty well... Thought maybe we could finally win one.

... Then we got wiped hard by shroud's squad.
We never stood a chance.

Tuned into the stream after death to watch the rest of the match... Jeez, I don't have a fraction of the skill and mobility, lol

Stop standing still, the chance of someone oneshotting you when running is pretty damn low.

Also always top up your health, never run around with the 75% health you get from a first aid kit if you have boosters. Always boost all the time.
