PLAYERUNKNOWNS BATTLEGROUNDS Early Access Thread: This Is Battle Royale

For you.
Considering you can't prove 99% of stream sniping implementing that rule and banning people who didn't stream snipe and not providing them with any sort of proof i complete fucking bullshit.

Also, don't fucking stream if you don't want people to kill you. Rust/Garry mod creator said it best when he said this

The only reason PUBG creator is doing this is because he has to protect the kids who are help selling his game because he doesn't want them throwing a tantrum

Nah, it's pretty easy to prove.

Don't fucking stream snipe if you don't want to get banned. It's cheating.

"he has to protect the kids who are help selling his game because he doesn't want them throwing a tantrum"

you do realize famous streamers have been banned before for breaking the rules, right?

Grief. How many kills are you coming away with on average? I haven't won a game in 50+ hours and can't fathom getting to a point where I can win four in a day.

Average is 5-8 kills for me. I don't drop to school or the military base just because I'm usually dead before I even lay hands on a weapon. Or I find a pistol and someone guns me down with a M416. So I almost always jump to either Shooting Range or Vasnaya Polyana.

Figured I'd try a round this morning and do exactly that.... and what do you know, I won my first game! Here are all my kills and my general strategy during the round.

First kill. Landed at shooting grounds and found a shotgun. Started looking for a better weapon when I see someone ahead. Sloppy shooting but I see they only have a pan. Of course, I looted the pan. Always take a pan.

Second kill. I'm trying to leave and someone starts shooting me. I get behind a tree to heal and... the dumbass drives TOWARDS ME. Brilliant.

Third kill. I have my bike and I'm heading towards the edge of the circle. Usually you can pick people off running to the next circle from Vasnaya, but I see someone else doing exactly that from behind a tree. I jump off my bike a little early, but I was excited. Easy kill.

Fourth kill.
I'm hiding out again looking for people running out of the blue. Don't see anyone, but I hear footsteps outside. I switch to a close-range sight, pop out, and get a sloppy kill. Not sure why he didn't go for my bike.

Fifth kill. I'm pinned by a sniper. So I boost up, unequip my gun to run faster, and start sprinting (too bad I didn't have a knife). He takes some shots and misses. I see a guy below but I lose him behind a tree. Wasn't sure if he ran into the building. He didn't. Still got the kill. Eventually had to loot him for a medkit.

Sixth kill. At 7 seconds in, I hear someone moving around in a shipping crate. I wisely use the crack in the door to peak into the 2nd crate and see him. I strafe around and barely get the kill.... again. Loot a full medkit off him. Yay.

Last kill. I know it's the sniper up on the hill that had me pinned earlier. So I loot my last kill for any sniper attachments and go out to find him.

Pretty fun match with a lot of near deaths. 95% of my loot was taken from the people I killed.

Streamable sucks for 3440x1440 uploads, and youtube seems like overkill for these short little clips.

I highly doubt that all the people claiming t have been banned for stream sniping were banned, and if they were banned I doubt that's what it's for.

It's like the old whywasibanned xbox live site, which posted all the hilarious excuses people had for getting banned for on the xbox forums when an XBL employee would explain that in reality they'd actually just been sending millions of abusive chat messages.

Wouldn't surprise me if their "friends" who got "banned" didn't exist or did get banned and were just hacking. Or were just them on another account.

It seems like every day the quantity of Gamescom crates goes up, I wonder how long it'll take for the supply to dwindle a bit.

I suspect a lot of them were never banned and they just want to take a stand against a policy they don't agree with. What I said earlier about streamers being a protected class isn't a unique opinion. A lot of people feel the same way and even the idea that it's possible someone could get banned based on a streamer's complaints pisses people off. I'm not about to go write some bogus negative review over it but I'm sure plenty of people do just that.

Yeah I flogged mine because of that reason

If they get to £1 each (half what I received) I'll buy back what I sold.

Giving me a stash to sit on then and a nice £10 on the account

Anyone else getting a bug in game where the screen very briefly flickers / flashes? Happens to me fairly often. It looks exactly like in this guy's video.

https://forums.playbattlegrounds.com/topic/23222-screen-flashing-white-for-a-short-time-flicker/

I've tried a few things with no luck so far. Turning v-sync on/off, using the in game v-sync vs. the Nvidia control panel vsync, etc. Nothing seems to help. I have a 1080 running at 1440p, most settings on high/ultra except for effects and shadows.

No idea what causes it, I get that too, usually only when running/driving

Snagged my 2nd win in a row just now. Holy shit... the M24 silenced is possibly the most satisfying thing in this game to shoot. Saw a guy go up to a crate and take off in a car. I followed his car to the woods, jumped out, and UMPed him to death (love that gun). He has the M24 and a fully decked out scar with silencers!

My dream setup:

Proof? They repeatedly requeue in to the same match as their mark, including disconnecting early when their mark dies before them. There's no innocuous reason to intentionally match into the same match as someone else. This isn't a legal matter, devs don't need proof beyond a reasonable doubt. If you're intentionally griefing any player (streamer or not) by trying to match against them, or trying to team up with other players, you're doing something worthy of being (temporarily) banned for.

I don't get this hardon people have for griefers. The only explanation that makes sense to me is that it demonizes two groups of people that the internet loves to hate: Game devs and Streamers.

They need to change the red zone.

Instead of a zone, make it a bombing run using an almost identical plane to the current one for drops. You don't see a mark on the map, just gotta listen for a plane. As it flies over, it does a bombing run at a random point in the circle. You don't know where it's gonna be, and can only tell when you hear a plane and look at it to see what plane it is - if it's a drop, great, but if it's a bombing plane, run!

I suspect it's people that have held onto them and don't want to miss the train. Since there are so many afkers, the value of things is dropping, and people are panic selling. I reckon once they fix the afkers, the price will go back up. In holding onto my crates for a LONG time.

Happens to everyone

I think the issue is that a lot of people realized the crates might up go in value once you could no longer obtain them. But people probably didn't have steam guard setup so they're on that 7-10 day wait period or whatever it is. So they're selling them as soon as they can.

Just a theory. Dunno really. I don't care. I don't expect to ever get anything for mine, but i'm not buying keys to open them either. Would be fucking pointless.

Another problem I get is that sometimes, not always, when I get the rain game my FPS dives down into the 30's for the entire match. When that doesn't happen my frame rate is similar to all the non-rain games (70 or so to 100+ depending on what is going on). I'd say I get the awful frame rate issue in about half of the rain matches.

I

Well, English is not my native language. I do watch movies and read books in English but I don't talk to people in English so... doing this would probably be a good idea to improve that if I think about it now but I am a bit shy lol

My oral english is barely understandable and i was never kicked out of any squad because of it, so there is a chance for you !
The people on the Neogaf discord are really nice. If you can understand and just give direction and alert, you'll be fine. Give it a try !

So how much ammo does one need? I have the feeling I always carry too much and then get problems with looting corpses. 3 full magazines for AR (90-120)? Or 2? If I get killed, it doesn't matter and if I kill someone I probably find more ammo by looting him.

I've been getting into PUBG lately and been having a good time with it, but I've been experiencing crashes when I'm in a 4 person squad. It's rare to get them when I'm solo, but it seems to happen at least once a session (not necessarily once a round/game, though) when I'm grouped up with friends. Has anyone else experienced this, and have any advice to help? The crashes don't generate logs either - if I'm lucky, I'll get a message about a memory write error.

If specs play into this, I'm playing on High with a GTX 1070 and a 3570k running at 4.6GHz. 16GB of RAM (can list the speed later if it would help). Running G-Sync as well.

300 ammo is where I'm most comfortable for an AR if I'm using a Sniper secondary.

Two AR's I'll try to carry ~150 each.

I spend a lot of ammo shooting vehicles.

ugh I'm playing so dumb. landed in the middle of nowhere, was lucky enough to get an s12k shotgun or whatever, as someone just happened to come into the house, I took him out, got armor, ammo, and SKS, and medkit, etc. He even came with a car. I drive to a small house right past the new circle, it has a buggy outside. I shoot the tire out, then go inside. I get distracted by the window and a lv2 helm on the ground and completely forget to look around the room. Dude was to the right and lit me up. Argh.

anyone have tips for the end game? i'm having so much trouble with indecision lol. I always get caught out cuz I'm making a mad dash to the final circle(s) and killed out in the open while others are safe in houses or cover.

If you don't have cover, you need to play the white edge. Play from locations you know for certain you are safe. Clear behind you, rotate in a certain direction, make it incredibly difficult for people to surprise you.

Eventually as a player you need to start keeping mental note of where shots are coming from, pay attention to the kill feed and where gunfire is coming from. Knowing that someone to your west just killed someone with a kar98 can sometimes give you enough information about where is safe and not safe to push.

Mostly just keep playing and practicing. Game sense about where other players might be is really important and you get it mostly through experience.

Every time I've done well, it's been partially luck. Focus on where the circle is closing in on, try to hole up somewhere around there and adjust as necessary. Toss out some smoke grenades if you need cover or a distraction, and stick to bushes whenever you can.

also keep in mind that the late barriers kill you fast. lost a game at third place last night because I hesitated too much on getting into the circle, thinking that the health boost from painkillers would counter the damage more than it did.

If you want to be careful, play the edge of the circle, find a location where you're shielded from the inner area of the circle and can focus outwards so that you don't get caught by somebody rushing in.

move to the final circle earlier so you aren't making a mad dash. make a decision and stick to it, don't get caught between places. if you get close to the final circle with time to spare move around the outside of it to find stragglers and scout out cover in the next circle.

Ride the blue circle. It moves inward pretty slowly so you can safely stay outside of the white circle for a while and walk along with the blue one once it contracts.

Also, basically let everyone else kill eachother while you stay hidden and pick off the remainders. Don't take shots if there's doubts on whether you'll actually kill the guy. Make it count.

This is definitely not true for certain positions. If there's a large distance between the white and the blue circle on one side, that side will move in much more quickly than the other side. I die due to no vehicle and not being able to catch up fairly often (and if I have a vehicle I die to getting shot, obviously).

True that. If you're unlucky and the circle is completely opposite to your side of the circle, you probably won't be able to outrun it. If this happens I move earlier.

The biggest thing I've found for survivability near the end is, when there's time, move around the edge of the blue until you're at the closest edge to the white, instead of heading directly towards the white. That and be as mindful as you can about using small hills and valleys in the terrain to conceal your movement as much as you can.

My new favorite thing. If at the start of the game I'm at a heavy area (like the school) and all I find are scopes. Then I'll run to some random tree and throw them down so no one finds them. If I can't use them, no one can! If I somehow survive I"ll go back to my stash.

I do believe stream sniping is a thing, however PUBG is such a difficult game to actually do it successfully in...

First you need to confirm you are in the game, then you need to be two screening in up and figure out where they are, and then you figure out where they are, you still have to kill them and the best streamers are 9/10 times winning that fight so I just don't see Stream sniping in PUBG as that big of an advantage. There's just so many variables. Unless of coures the streamer is predictable i.e. Shroud always going ot military base

I think I've done this if I have something like a full 100% Medkit but bad gear, using it when I don't really need it.

Well I'm getting into the top 25 consistently, need to work on my kb+m skills though, doing ok with a Xbox one controller, but the aiming is just not there for me, I for some reason cannot use kb+m without it hurting, I think it's the keyboard tbh, but I am after a new one anyway so we'll see then

I don't get how people are constantly touching ground before me every game.

I release close enough so I can do a straight drop down and then hold W during the parachute phase and yet there are still people who drop before me and even have time to loot a gun before I touch.

wth am I doing wrong?

Yes, mics work, thank god. ;)
I'd be up for a game this week, if you can excuse my bad spoken english and overall bad performance during the game. :D Don't have time before Friday, though. Playing duos with random strangers isn't bad, I must say. I had some nice matches thanks to some good match making.

yeah i found out i need it dam VPN to use god damn mic... Egypt had blocked all vpn which effected game like Rainbow Six Siege ....

I don't understand, how the shit is anyone stream sniping in this game? like, how do you even tell if you're in the same game as someone to begin with? and then to even know that particular streamer? and then not fucking die on your own even if you do know they are in your game and where

seems like so many factors that would make this an almost non issue, if people managed to get in the same games at all. it's just bizarre to me that it's a thing. is there some easy way to join a specific stranger's game?

mash F when crossing the borderline to get that frame perfect (not actually frame perfect) parachute deploy

this often gets you down a few seconds faster

I'm always first or second down, the key is not to drop straight down to your target. You want to start going straight down the second you see your destination on the minimap. So if you're going south to north toward the school you want to jump out a little early, right as the school is on the northern border of the minimap. Then use W while parachuting to get to the spot you want to land.
