Too high sensitivity?
I was under the impression it is the best overall AR not exclusive to crates, which is why they made it harder to find in a patch not too long ago. Anyway, I don't think I've ever not picked it up (unless I already have one).
I keep forgetting it's 12 tick servers. They must have some crazy code to compensate for that, because it never feels like it.
I hope/can't wait for them to upgrade that. I'm sure the game will feel completely different, even if it's hard to tell atm.
That's awesome, never considered having people watch in the same room, esp without telling them the game's rules.

I played FPP the first time today and holy shit does it feel broken. The height of your view, the movement, the sway literally everything. I get that it is a cool addition, no peaking and all, but my god if they don't improve it a lot this is a hilariously bad way to play imho. It feels so tacked on.

What are you talking about? That dude had like 600 games played the last 2 seasons combined. Its not unheard of for him to win his first few games at default ELO after the monthly reset.

ever pump 6 shots from a M416 into a dude, only to insta die from one shotgun blast without ever getting any hits? Yeah 12 tick server and enemy has a shit ping.
First game getting a M24 and a ghillie suit..
The M24 is nasty. I won a squad game with it the other night. I dont consider myself a good sniper, or even decent. I will give up my 8x or KAR for anyone else in the squad, as I'm more of a mid range, close range flanker than a sniper. Something about the KAR's bullet speed, i cant figure out the drop i need to compensate for. But got'damn the M24 felt right in my hands. I think it's because the speed of the bullet is closer to the 5.56 weapons than the 7.62.

According to that pubg me site my solo rating is 1306. I'm on mobile, I've got no clue: is that decent? Really curious cus as of now my top ten rate is almost 20 percent.
Lower mouse sensitivity, if you can turn around 360 degrees with one pull of the mouse on your mouse pad you have more than double the sense you should start with to try to find the right one for you.
Performance most likely, all the bullet decals required data to be sent from server to clients and the client to keep track of them.
My biggest issue with FPP is the lack of Hold to ADS option and I can't seem to learn the current aim mechanic. It even gets me killed sometimes.

so I decide to do a solo FPP and drop in on shooting range. there's a few others that have the same idea. I get down, find an UMP right away, and manage to burst the guy behind me. I hear gunfire to the north so I head that way and catch another guy as he's about to shoot me. boom, two down. as I finish him, another guy starts shooting at me, I dodge using cover to avoid the bullets, pop out and get him. 3 kills, feeling good. Need armor and helmet and stuff. Look around a bit, find that, plus an SKS, fully decked out, 4x scope, etc. Only one issue.. no health regen. At all. No bandages, no first aid, no energy drinks, no painkillers. So I head to the north side of the map further from the drop path and go to the ruins and a couple houses. No healing items. I find a jeep, at least. I'm excited to fight more but my health is still at 1/8th HP thanks to the first fights. I decide to drive back into the new circle and head to a standalone house, hoping for healing items. I start my jeep, drive 5 feet, and hit a fucking rock. It damages me. I have a SLIVER of health left and I'm sitting there like 'fucking hell', so I drive the rest of the way VERY CAREFULLY until I get to the big standalone house. I slow down to a crawl, get out of the jeep
and die from falling. I must have been going 2mph. What the fuck. Rofl. Ugh

Agree with all of this.
The same mechanics are in the 3rd person mode -- you can simply change your view with a button.
The height feels okay to me as a short/average woman, sway doesn't bother me much, and the movement seems good.
Server lag is a bigger issue to me.

I've been practicing with only the iron sights lately, because I've had nothing but bad scope spawns for a day or so. Unfortunately no luck with long range shots, but at least a red dot helps... Would like to see a follow up to the poll. I loved FPP at first but my friends and I have completely switched back to TPP.

I just wish people weren't obnoxious about it. Like how earlier I posted a clip of mine where I did a bike flip and then drove over somebody, and the only direct reply to it was somebody condescendingly saying "wow people still play third person?"
Why is it so important to people that everyone knows how preferred first person is, or how many poll results it got?
Like, jeeze, just play how you want to play. I play both modes, I feel like both modes are more fun in different ways. It's ok for people to not like third person, or not like first person, just stop acting like you're better than people who have different opinions.

360 with 1 swipe is not too much, to find your perfect sensitivity you should start from high sensitivity and lower it after few hours of playing, then lower it until its a bit too slow and then raise it a bit, should be perfect then.

It depends on what they release. Most of what they've been doing so far is roughly equivalent to what has been par for the course til now.
If it's barebones, no significant changes, no vaulting, etc, 2 months from now, sure I'll agree with you, but honestly I don't see how that can happen. We know vaulting is coming, they've been teasing it with increasing frequency, and we know the second map is coming when the game fully releases before the end of the year.
If those major beats change, are delayed, and nothing much is happening, it will be easy for me to consider it stagnant.
Right now it just makes sense to me that they had two really bad patches with negative feedback from the community and their response is to lax on their aggressive release schedule so that they can take more time to polish these patches internally and afford them appropriate testing time on the test servers.
That's the other thing that will make me feel a bit uneasy, as I've said before. If they fuck up this incoming patch release, it won't make sense to have changed the patch schedule, because it would mean the reason for doing so isn't to properly QA patches.
Finally, the "map" thing was just clumsiness on my part. I meant weather setting, but as of this moment it should have been perfectly clear what I meant since there is only one map.

I had an acog m16 so i feel like i must have hit him
Ill just try again. I dont run into many chances like that so i dont have a feel for this games shooting at all

FPP felt weird until I got used to it. Now TPP feels weird when I play it. TPP is weird to me anyways, I never really played any shooters with it before pubg. I do not approve unles swords or magic are involved.

I get that and would probably agree. But the implementation... But I just found a Tweet where they said they will improve this quite a lot in the future. It doesn't feel fine to me personally at the current state.
Ah yes, and we totally didn't complain about the patch last month that completely broke the game and lamented on the fact that they had such high patch turnover with no real testing in place. Not at all. Damn defence.

360 with one pull is absolutely bananas high for this, this isnt quake or unreal. Most people start waaaay to high if they arent used to FPS with a mouse since most "good" players use very high sense on consoles. A lot of people typically also use a fairly high sens in their OS this doesn't translate well at all to a game like PUBG (or any other slower paced shooter where you need high accuracy to kill). Turning quickly is much less important than having very fine grained aim and thats what the low sens gives you.
The height is matched with the characters head, and the characters never really stand up straight they always hunch forward a bit, the only thing "broken" is the size of certain assets like furniture. Sway seems mostly removed to me, and the increased FoV fixed any issues I had with FPP before. Movement etc are exactly like 3PP so if you are used to playing that already it works the same, and it has to work the same. Same physics, same "slow" start and stop etc.
The only thing they need to really fix is the crouch jump stuff so getting around is better integrated in the gameplay and less about glitching through windows etc.
Their explanation implied it was mostly during OCE off hours there may be less than 500 people in certain queues which would result in slow matches. I don't know why they took so long to at least try them for you guys, but it seems like so far it has been a success.

Their response has been weird. In one of the recent "PUBG sells (insert number here) million copies" threads, someone posted a graph showing PUBG sales by region and Australia had ~300K sales IIRC. How that can't be enough players to sustain TPP and FPP matches across all game types I'm not sure. That's not including the shitload of Asian players that play on OCE servers as well.
They should at least trial OCE FPP solo/squad matches for a week or so and see how it goes, instead of saying it flat-out won't work.
Lower everything to Low but leave view distance at Ultra. I play with these settings on my 970 at 100+fps.

Missed this. Dude, I have continued to list mostly specific criteria (there are SOME things I think get wiggle room) that constitute success and failure for this game in those terms. I am by no means a defense artist for Bluehole, but when people make posts that are wearing glasses, a mullet, and sound like something a washed up "video game champion" would be saying, I take it with a huge grain of salt. People come in here quoting recent popular Reddit posts almost verbatim about how shitty the devs are when almost everything is completely reasonable if you're willing to be even just a little understanding.
You don't like micro transactions? Neither do I. I wish they weren't in the game. But it's not unreasonable to include them when the devs come out and say: 1)we need a way to support our servers long term and because of that 2) we need to test this so that it doesn't go bad when the game comes out of retail. Being hung up on "THEY PROMISED" is childish. They're giving legit reasons, at least give them a chance to make good on it.
You don't like stream snipers getting banned? I don't know what to tell you. I have absolutely no idea why people love stream snipers so much on Reddit, but they do. Anybody that gives devs and streamers hate seems to be super popular there. All I'll say is that these people are losers, they had a huge negative impact on H1Z1, and it's better for everyone if they aren't around.
Why did I bring those two things up and why am I talking about Reddit? Because when I see things quoted verbatim from there, it makes me realize how little they care about genuine discussion. There is a significant subset of the internet of any popular thing that exists just because people love to get pissed off and live in the zeitgeist of being angry at someone who has done something wrong. I have no energy to combat that at Reddit, people will do whatever, but here on GAF I expect people to at least participate with good faith. So I call these mentalities out in the hopes at least we can realize the outrage is premature. If it turns out that Bluehole does suck and fucks this game up, I will be there calling it out. But until then I just disagree with most if it.

What about cpu? It needs good cpu more than good gpu.
It might partially be your system, but I think they haven't optimized their code or something yet. I have a Skylake machine with a 1080 and sometimes it freezes for a second here and there.. usually right before or at the beginning of combat with someone nearby. This never happens with most other games. I play a lot of Overwatch and it's always super smooth.
