Downright the most heart-racing match I had yet. I was playing with other GAFfers. Everyone got murdered before going to the circle in the final island. I take revenge and kill the team that killed mine, get a boat, go to the circle. Put myself on a patch of uphill land to shield myself, and i'm really lucky with all the subsequent circles. I watch nervously as people on top of the hill kill each other. Last circles, two teams are engaging each other as they run to the circle. One team survives, two guys left. One takes cover behind a shack, in full view of me, and i quickly down him. The other comes to heal him, still not knowing where I was. I quickly riddle him with bullets, but he manages to just survive and get behind cover and heal. He then runs to the houses trying to get cover in the small wall that would give him advantage over me. I try to shoot at him while he runs but don't quite get the kill, so I just do great sprint, jump over the wall, and cover myself behind some barrels. The dude tries to kill me but the barrel takes most of it, and I finally kill the bastard.

I won a game with a silenced Tommy Gun. Kept finding Scars and M416s on the people I killed but said "nope, this is the Tommy Gun round.

Sucks that you can't put a sight on it, but at close range it's a beast.

Slowly climbing the ranks. 106 in solo FPP.

Noice. Is that ReShade I see? You have a link to what you're using?

Yeah man, I used this guide. Makes a huuuge difference but I did lose frames, now I only average around 70-80

Ranks are a mystery to me since I'm like 60000 or 1000000 depending on mode, but Grimmz was in my game. I guess his rating is bad because of streaming or he doesn't play duos much.

Just a tip to those of you who have monitors with several colors modes, I tweaked one of mine into my own ReShade for PUBG. It works great, and doesn't affect performance at all. I'm using an ASUS VG248QE for reference. Still working on perfecting it to my own taste but I can post the numbers if anyone with the same monitor is interested. You won't have as many hue options but it works anyway!

Some streamers have multiple accounts, like one for tryhard/serious play, and another for messing around with friends or subs to their channel etc.

My rank jumps around from 100-5000 depending on how I play, it's not something I pay much attention to anymore. I actually got rekt today by the #1 ranked player on the OCE server when I was going for an air-drop. I was so close to nailing him with a Kar98 headshot too...fuck.

Is there an actual matchmaking system in place based on rank?

Some people claim there is a hidden MMR system but based on the hundreds of hours I've watched on Twitch I really doubt it. The difference in player skill is way too much considering how many people are available to match per round etc.

I feel like I keep getting hit behind cover even after I've avoided the fire in front of me... Dying after I'm already behind cover.

Only felt like this after the last patch, idk.

My game crashed after I looted some stuff, I managed to get back in but didn't earn any BP at the end because of the crash. :<

Just checked the stats and apparently I am ranked #90 in EU Solo FPP, that seems crazy high. Still pretty cool I guess :D

It's probably bugged? I'm at 100k Solo FPP and I think I've only ever done one Solo FPP game. lol

Today I landed in a duo game and did what I always do and ran into a building even though it wasn't loaded yet (takes up to a minute sometimes). I have to do that or else I get killed way too early.

So I found a nice gun and managed to loot the place even with all the terrible clipping and stuttering. A second later the place is fully loaded and voila, I'm trapped in a fucking cage in a warehouse, haha. I didn't have a mic on and my partner just cursed at me for not coming with him...He would have seen why when he entered the house but oh well... :D He cursed a little more, got shot and killed (while I was trying to somehow clip my way through the fence but that didn't work) and told me he'd report me. All that happened within 30 seconds after I realized that I'm trapped.

I hope the developer manages to optimize the loading in the future. Would preloading them while on the spawn island work?

I'm loving FPP. Don't know if I'll go back to regular.

By regular I think he means the standard third person perspective matches.

Can someone please explain to me why does the game change from European server to Asia server? After each match it defaults to Asia despite me living in sweden

I didn't think we were going to win this. We dropped in the mansion, one of our squad mates died on our first looting, we were getting shit drops and we had no car as we had to walk for a majority of the game, barely outrunning death from the playzone at almost every turn. Two of my team mates run to a house to get a jeep and one of them gets gunned down but our other team mate manages to rambo the other team while I'm running ahead. At this point we're outside of the safe zone, our downed team mate is brought back and manages to sneak in a first aid in time, and they hitch a car to pick me up.

At this point we're still shit on equipment and get to the Ferry Pier and it looks like the final showdown is going to be right off the south-west shore of the Military Base island on the gigantic cliff edge. Since we were west off of the Ferry Pier we had to swim to avoid bridge trolls and the blue wall (roughly 20 people still left alive right now). There was a loot crate on the beach that no one had picked up, so we decide to try getting towards it regardless of the risks. Luckily we found a boat on the small island with the watch tower, we drove straight onto the beach and looted it. I scored an 8x Scope with an AWM and we ran towards the large rocks on the cliff. We assumed that there were going to be people coming at us from land... but to our surprise they were all at the bottom of the rock slide. People were dying to the safe zone in droves now and at least two people driving with boats having a sea-side battle. I was getting really low on ammo as I was trying to pick people off as they drive on the boat, and I managed to kill one person. Then I downed another one on the bottom of the rock slide having a shoot out with another team, who promptly got killed by another person. Surprisingly no one can get a read on my position. My friend kills one of the team members from above with a rifle, and at this point there's just one guy with full level 3 armor loitering around at the very bottom of the rock slide. I'm low on ammo at this rate from trying to pick people off but the enemy has no option but to get out to try nailing us, and the safe zone was't in his favor since he couldn't climb up the rock slide. He peeks out and I nail the final kill of the game with an AWM headshot.

Needless to say I am mad content about how we turned that around somehow. Incredibly proud about this being my first Chicken Dinner.

MMR rank isn't even hidden. There is a value and it's used to calculate leaderboard rank as well. It's available to see on the stat tracking sites like pubg.me.

i've been having a lot of fun playing solo in squad games lately.
i thought it might be safer because most squads drop and move together so players are less scattered around the map and i can move more freely.
One time i killed all four members of a squad by following them and taking them one be one out. i won't lie, it's fun when i break squads by killing the members.

A couple of days ago i dropped in a remote location with 2 houses and there was another player. all i had was a grenade when we faced each other. He was fast and got me before i threw the nade but i had removed then pin...
so i was watching him looting my body when the grenade went off and killed him. so rewarding!!!! :)

Don't typically save my deaths, but this is probably the dumbest way I have died yet in PUGB. Buddy and I were pinned down near a cliff with the circle closing. We decided to jump off and then swim up the coast. Buddy didn't survive the jump, but I did. Apparently he had a grenade out and it ended up kill me right after I landed in the water.

There is a MMR system, but it wasn't implemented in FPP until now.

It can fluctuate a bit since it's pretty difficult to determine a player's skill level in game like this, especially in such a short time-frame. It's generally pretty good though. It was a huge difference playing unranked FPP for the past 2 months vs. ranked TPP.

The question is, how do you accurately determine the skill level in this case? W/L ratio, K/D ratio, number of wins, numbers of kills? You can win a number of matches and get loads of kills without too much effort if you're lucky. So seeing some less experienced players in higher levels is pretty much inevitable, as of right now at least.

yeah this is why you see a lot of the more skilled players/streamers stress the "kill rating" more than win rating

Question of the day. Center of the circle or the edge?
I think it depends on your play style. I prefer going straight to the center of the circle if I have a vehicle and finding a good place to camp taking out any unsuspecting players that encroach on my area. If you're aggressive then playing the edge is for you. The good thing about the edge is that you don't really have to worry about people behind you, but there's a good chance you'll be taken out by the closing circle if you're pinned down in a gunfight. Your aiming really has to be on point if you want to play the edge.

So, early big circles, go to the middle. Late smaller circles, play the edge.

First time playing with a mini14. That thing is such a beast and that sound...

Still haven't played in the fog though.

Mini 14 has made open fields even more of a nightmare in FPP solo. I don't have any time to react if someone catches me from behind now.

Man, I finally got to shoot the Mini14 at other players and Jesus it's a beast.

I ended up dying to a guy who had... really good snap shot aim with an M16, but at least I hit him twice.

Ok fine after watching at least a few hundred hours of streams of the game I finally just bought it. After DayZ (the mod) I thought I was done running through woods looking for bullets while decked out human players mercilessly hunt me but I guess not.

Once I figure out what I'm doing I'll look around for some GAF squads or something. Weirdly NONE of my rl friends seem to want to play it.

I think he was banned for cross-teaming with Bananaman on Solo mode. Bananaman was also banned.
Here's the problem: Bananaman didn't really help Shroud. He was mostly joking around shroud and it also happened in FPP where stats didn't track.

So what the hell Bluehole?

A short term ban for something like that is totally reasonable - the last thing in the world Bluehole wants to be doing is making judgement calls about whether someone was really "helping" an opponent or just kinda sorta jokingly helping him.

Honestly, if I was Shroud or Summit a short ban would be so welcomed lol. Take a day off, go outside, not worry about subs crying about you not doing your regular 12 hour shift in the Twitch saltmine.
