H1Z1 is on sale for $12 right now. Never played either of these, should I bother with it or just get this one?
You really have an issue with KOTK don't you? I remember earlier when you told someone to avoid it because it's trash. Is it not possible for people to like both? How long did you play it before you just dismissed it and what made you so upset with it?It should tell you something how desperate H1Z1 has become with these massive sales lately. They're rightfully scared of the competition.

I'm fine for people having issues with the game but I have yet to see you explain why exactly. Would be nice to have some context.
Appreciate the response. I just recently hit 20 hours with it as well and I'm just about 50 hours into PUBG. You're clearly coming from a different point of view with the game having played it over a much longer period of time than I. So who knows, maybe the newness will wear off sooner with KOTK than PUBG but as for now I'm really enjoying it. But I respect your opinion completely, if Daybreak's progress has really been that bad since the beginning, you're probably completely correct in your assessment. But you don't feel even $10 for a completely new player to BR games is a good deal if they wanted to try that first over PUBG? The game clearly still has a lot of concurrent players even though it's below PUBG atm.20+ some hours before it got split off into king of the kill. I feel like the game hasn't had any meaningful changes in the two years I've owned it. PUBG has made more progress in the past month than H1Z1 has since it's release. I mean shit, next update for PUBG we're getting a new weapon, has H1Z1 ever added a single new weapon to the game? For the amount of revenue/concurrent players the game has it's disgusting just how little has changed.
In comparison to PUBG I do think it's trash, I think it's trash compared to the original playerunknowns battle royale mod for Arma 2/3 as well. I feel like the arcadey jump around and shoot/jump out of a moving car at 80 mph and be able to accurately aim within a moments notice mechanics are directly antithetical to the core concept of a battle royale mode, where patience and observation should be stronger traits for survival than twitch reflexes and high sensitivity settings.
Either way I'm just trying not to waste people's time. It's obvious that H1z1's on it's way out, why back the losing horse? The game had a lot of potential 2 years ago, but they haven't done anything with it.
lol, whoops. Give it to a friend!I'm so stupid. Just bought it but find out I already own it.
Yep, the other day in solos I almost gave up on it until they patch it because of being unable to do much of anything. Be in a house, open a door, walk in the room, then I'm suddenly down the hall. That seemed to keep on happening several times in each house. Outside it wasn't quite as bad.The next patch really needs to do something about lag. I had a round where I dodged all of a guy's bullets with a tiny bit of health left, only to get teleported 30 yards back outside in the open after I ran into a house, a guy who appeared in the door frame as a flash for half a second before teleporting back outside so I wasted my shots, and a time where I died because the game insisted I was stuck in the wheel of my buggy and being pulled backwards as I tried to run inside a garage.

I had a match about an hour ago where I literally couldn't leave the house I entered. No doors would open, could't pick up anything and yet I never disconnected. Had to quit out manually. The next patch really needs to do something about lag. I just had three rounds in a row where I jumped all by myself, only to see another player pop into existence about 100 yards from the ground, right ahead of me, always closer to a gun than I am, and then when I try to fight them the game loses its shit and starts teleporting them around so they're impossible to hit.
At least one round I got a 12 gauge, emptied it right into a guy with no armor at point blank, only for him to survive and pop me in the leg with an AK to kill me.
As with most Early Access games it's hard to tell how further support will go just based on the first couple of months. H1Z1 also got a good amount of support initially before it turned into a slotmachine.

Thanks for the games yesterday SamuraiX! Sorry for bailing!
I love this game so much. The rush as you get into the smaller circles just can't be beat.
Do we know what the developer plans to add to the game in future updates?
After almost 100 hours in H1Z1, I echo most of ffejero's points. KotK is a fine game of you're completely new to the genre but it might also kill a lot of peoples' interest for the wrong reasons. Aside from the influx of hackers that are plaguing pretty much every match you jump into now, hit registration and desync became too much for me. These issues are present in PUBG but don't feel nearly as severe. The shotgun glitches were really bad at one point where you would blast a dude two or three times and your shots would ghost right through them and they just turn around and pop you. Things like that and Daybreak constantly pushing back updates and anytime they finally pushed one out it would feel incredibly bare bones and bugs/glitches they claimed to fix still persisted.
It's fine to try I would say but people should really go in with tempered expectations.
GGs man! No worries at all. Hope to play again with you soon.
Amazing how many great moments they're able to find and put into these videos. Never short of a ton of laugh out loud situations. Best clip without question starts at 5:17.Week 4 highlights are up.
These videos should really just be called "10 minutes of why you should always pickup that saiga."
H1Z1 had a lot of promise when Sony was still behind it and pretty much has been stuck with a graveyard crew at Daybreak ever since SOE backed out. Bluehole has consistently shown amazing diligence and competence in their work on PUBG since pre-alpha and there doesn't look to be any risk of them slowing down.
This game has caught my interest but I'm wondering how it would run on my system, I have the following specs:
i5-2500k @4.0GHz
8GB RAM
G1 970 GTX
SSD
I keep hearing the game runs pretty bad so I'm wondering about my system.
We'll have our dev blog later today (Tuesday), but now we're excited to reveal the new weapon getting added in this weeks patch, the Vector!
Really showcases how messed up gun accuracy is while jumping and during transition animations like landing and going prone. Hopefully that's something they'll address relatively soon.Week 4 highlights are up.

It's a cool looking gun but will submachines guns have a place after the initial looting stage? It seems like the gun you carry because you have no options. Shotguns are more effective in the same close range, assault rifles are better everywhere else.
Vector .45 ACP should be very viable mid to short range SMG for end game, it should be very stable and deal a lot more damage per bullet than UMP or UZI. Even now UMP is somewhat viable all way to the end, but less so than e.g. AK spraying from close range.
