I've done terribly this afternoon, just couldn't get into the top 10 at all.
Really struggled getting any decent loot at the start of the game.

I've had the worst luck today. Every building I go into only has attachments/ammo but not the actual weapon. It's not a matter of people getting to it before me because no one even drops near me, and everything else is always there like first aid kids, ammo, etc. I haven't even been able to find a melee weapon

Just started playing this last night with my brother. Played a game or two today by myself. This game is fantastic, but is it normal to poop yourself from being so tense when you go around a corner and someone blasts you in the face with a shotgun?
Yes I play with the steam controller. All keyboard bindings of course.
It was a small bit of information in the middle of a short preview of sorts. Only information was two new maps. 8x8 km Mediterranean jungle/seaside with snowy mountains, and a smaller desert map with a village.
Thats good to know.
Hopefully they'll be working on the audio more as well, as at the moment environmental sound does act like it should do
Really enjoying the gameplay so far after just a couple of hours. Teamed up with a few mates right off the bat and finished #3 twice in a row, then won the third game.
It might change as I play more, but so far it's pretty slow-paced for the first 10-15 minutes or so (which I'm totally cool with) and then you start to get quite weary when there's under 50 guys left and the safe zone is significantly smaller. Gets the blood pumping!

Got to #5! Pretty good for second day. I killed 12 people, but only 3 were legit. I found a hill of idle players, I assume, and I put a bullet in their heads one at a time. Poor fellas

Third, for fucks sake. Solo chicken dinner still evades me. I definitely fucking popped the guy in the head once too, so frustrating.
The one game i have a chicken dinner i had bad items but good positioning and patience

First time playing a squad and its tense sweeping and looting.
I sucked hard again tonight though, really enjoy the game though and just need to learn to slow it down in the early game.

Man, my last three games were so unlucky with zone and vehicle placement. Ten minutes of running, stopping to heal, and then having to run again. Eventually it became impossible to out run the electric dome. And the only vehicle I find is a motorcycle right as I die.

Yay I did it! heart is actually pounding, almost messed up at the end but I actually killed all of the last 3 survivors.
When the game was down to 11 players things got pretty quiet. Everyone was just waiting for someone else to make a move. Then the circles started shrinking and even though I had been safe most of the game I had to start moving. Went up a hill took a shot at someone, 2 hits but he hid behind a tree. Couldn't get him and had to move into the circle, so I ran to the nearest house. Got shot at, no idea where from but managed to find protection at the house. At this point I thought I was pretty much dead, circles started shrinking and I was at the wrong side of it. On the other side were several houses and to get to them I had to run through a flat field with only some small bushes and grass. Took my chance and started crawling though it, once I heard people shooting at each other I just ran for it. Someone noticed me right away and shots were firing to my left and right. 1 landed right in my chest, luckily being absorbed by my level 3 vest, but leaving me at ~10% health just as I found another house. Ran in and found a bundle of bandages. Started healing like a mad man while people around me were going down. Legged upstairs and found myself all alone. I was now in the middle of the very small circle and had pretty much gone from the worst poistion to the best one with only me and 3 others left. Went out on the balcony and saw someone running towards the house. Could have waited but took my chances and downed him. Shortly thereafter another one showed up on the other side and I got him as well. Was sure at this moment that the last one knew exactly where I was, but to my suprise he also showed up right in front of me. Was pretty nervous, messed up my aim and couldn't get enough hits to kill him so he ran and hid behind a van. I could have played the waiting game but instead grabbed my shotgun and jumped down, right behind him, missed like two shots but the third one scored the game.

I would prefer this. I've had 2 games now making it into the last 15 where I've hardly run into anyone, so kind of boring, only to get picked off from nowhere. It hurts to have those many minutes go bye-bye for what felt like sitting and doing nothing

I came in 4th just now with zero kills. I actually was having fun just evading people.
A 100 people get dropped out of a plane onto a big map.
Guns, gear and vehicles randomly spawn across that map.
A circle appears on the map that gets smaller and smaller over time.
If you're outside the circle you start taking damage.
Whoever survives the longest wins.
It can be played solo, in duos or in teams of four.

Wouldn't be that worried, you can get top 10 without even fighting as long as you don't get boned by the circle.

It IS intense. More so if you play alone since there are 99 other people out there sitting still waiting for you to cross the next road, the next small hill or the next wheat field south of fuckin' Yasnaya Polyana! Duos and Squads is a bit different since you have people covering your backs and if you find an enemy, he's most likely followed by another 2 or 3 guys. I personally enjoy playing squad with another 2 or 3 friends more though! Solo makes me get a bit shaky near the end of the round, lol.

I just got really excited because I thought I was about to have my first melee kill. Had a machete, and snuck up behind someone looking out a window early game. My machete swung through him and did no damage. Did it again...no damage. Then he killed me. Is melee broken or something?

I'm surfing on GAF while I wait for the game to progress. Got my sound cranked, prone in front of a door in a small building with my 12 gauge shotgun out.
Took first in a duo yesterday and didn't fire a shot till there was 7 ppl left lol. We didn't see anybody till then, it was pretty crazy.

Sure, I guess. I just feel like accuracy while jumping and switching to different stances is way too high. Just makes close quarters combat a mess.

I was having such a bad run today I decided to test a couple hypotheses.
First, I placed a cool brown trench coat in a room and stood near it in plain sight. Both time people ran into the room, they immediately went for the trench coat and I was able to shoot them at point blank. Trench coats make good bait, apparently.
Second, I intentionally flipped a buggy and sat in the drivers seat to see if anybody would notice me there. A number of people ran past me without noticing. One guy even hid near the buggy during a fight fight, and his killer was looting his body next to the buggy, and neither noticed a there was a face sticking out of the bottom.

4 Solo matches today, 3 top 10s an 8, 7 and a 9 but none of them felt good. All of them had me dying the second I made it into a late game circle except the 9th place finish that hurt the worst because I had an AR suppressor which was working out nicely for me until I got caught up in the logging area and failed to reach the circle of death in time. My late game movement is very bad.
