Bleh. Heileen won't register any achievements for me at all (not even in Steam, let alone Playfire), and Oil Rush won't even open on my system because of a SteamAPI_init() error that I can't solve using the one method posted to their forums. Sigh.

Otherwise, anybody have recommendations or experience for which games' achievement rewards are more doable in a shorter amount of time?

I think somebody posted tips for Postal a few pages back (savestates to unlock), haven't got the game so I can't confirm if this works :>

Got So Much Blood!; can't bare to play Political Machine 2012. Such a broken and pointless unfun game.
A bit slow, yes. I have waited more than 72 hours when it was at its worst.
The VVVVVV time trials achievements are bugged, in that you always get them if you beat the level, no matter what your ranking is. You still need to find the trinkets to unlock the time trials though.

Just finished it at 1h:18m according to the game, you might finished it way faster though if you're not terrible at it like I was.

but just in case, you do it by collecting the trinkets.
If you want to be cheap you can turn on the accessibility options in the game to slow down time and even make yourself invincible to make collecting them easier.
IMO The only trinket that was hard to collect was the Veni Vidi Vici one, but that one thing is a lot harder than anything else in the game.

That's what I'm waiting on! Hopefully it launches at $49.99, because I have earned $25.33 so far. A 20% coupon + my credit = final price of ~$15 (based on Alien Isolation's new preorder page).

Anyone wanna do Multi Victory in PM 2012? I'll rub your back if you rub mine.
How do you get the "Imma firin mah lazer" achievement in single player? I tried using a shield and reflecting beams, but it seems like you have to join two separately created beams to get that one, thus requiring it be done in a multiplayer game.
You can do it with a shield, it's just tricky. I used an arcane beam and both an AoE shield and a front facing shield and bounced it all around, took a while to pull off though. Apparently you can also do it on enemy cast beams which may be easier if you plan to play through to the 0.50 reward.

I know that Playfire bans users who use SAM (Steam Achievement Manager). Do they do the same for using downloaded game saves? Would they flag accounts that get achievements without first getting achievements that would normally be obtained earlier in the game?

My account was banned for using game saves the other day actually. Unfortunate because I had about $50-60 of legit credit wiped as a result.

Did you do it to skip ahead and get like midgame achievements or something before getting other story related ones?

Leaving one collectible left, unlockable characters, story related achievements. Most of it was in order. I'm pretty sure it's based on too many achievements unlocking in a specific time frame which is deemed unrealistic by their team. That's the only way they distinguish anything it appears.
