Playfire Rewards Discussion Thread

I was only missing the middle torchlight II one. Redownload game, start hardcore game, get achievement, walk out of town and die to first enemies, playfire achievement and 25p!

I never got anything for linking my Stream account either. Signed up a while ago. Probably just broken like everything else.
 
radMonkey, please, tell me, why is it that after 7 mails Playfire support still haven't succeed in giving me one single penny in credits, this is nuts!
Support is a joke, if I didn't get free cash I'd remove my account and never go back.
 
Anyone have Max Payne 3 installed and mind if I murder them for money?

Finished Tiny and Big and get all the rewards, it's a decent puzzle platformer and I enjoyed it enough. Another one off my backlog thanks to playfire.

Someone made videos of the 0.25 and 0.5 rewards for it if you need help btw.

Master Alchemist is basically the achievement for getting to the final talent of one of the talent trees, so yes, quite a while (I got to the end of two trees in my playthrough, so I'd wager at least halfway through the game).

I got Thinking Critically in a few hours. I started a new character and put almost all my points in Dex and bought Dex buff gear.
It's not quick, but you don't have to beat the game.
 
Wow that Laboratory V rank achievement in VVVVVVV is so out of whack. That one single part, (on the I'm Sorry and Please Forgive Me screens of course) is infinitely harder than the rest of the level and broke me. I give up and I don't forgive you. Unless there some trick to getting past that tiny gap (twice!) to get the 4th trinket, that doesn't seem worth it. Doing It The Hard Way is nothing compared to V-ranking that time trial.

You can unlock the invincibilty in the game from the get go from a sub menu. Was a piece of cake to get all the achievements then.

well im an idiot. I used SAM to get my Max Payne 3 achievements since playfire doesn't do retroactive. hopefully i dont get banned since I undid it

I'm assuming the import library for trading in doesn't actually exist right now? everytime i click it I get an error

Time Trials don't allow invincibility.

EDIT: Wow, I really want a physical copy of VVVVVV so I can break it in half. No deaths for that lab achievement? Not worth further frustrating myself

You don't have to beat it within the time limit. You don't even have to get the trinkets. The achievements are bugged. Just get through the Laboratory time trial and it should unlock. That's what I did.
 
Those VVVVVV achievements are no joke. Probably the hardest thing I've done for playfire so far. Never want to see the Super Gravitron again.

Also, just had a cool idea: Once or twice a week, you would be able to pick a game from your library (that you haven't picked before) and PF randomly picks three achievement rewards based on the % off all players who achieved them, which then are only available for yourself. That might screw you over sometimes and probably could be abused in some way but I think it would be pretty cool.
 
Is it possible to delete La Tale from your library after getting the reward?

Yeah, as bad as it is, it seems to just be getting progressively worse. I called them out on how poor their form letter responses are the last time I messaged them and needless to say, I never got another response.

Edit: well, I finally got a response, and credit. As I've said before, I do genuinely feel bad for their overwhelmed support staff, and I really hope this program is worth it to them because it just seems like a nightmare all around.
 
GMG seems to be locking down more and more vouchers now. The new 20% one doesn't work with GMG credit. I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything, but that kind of sucks.
 
Oh, Playfire. @_@

I had a bunch of rewards stacked up that didn't get tracked because of Steam's API, so I emailed GMG's support about it over a month ago. They replied a few days ago, saying that they "added the credit to my account", but there's nothing there. I guess I'll wait another month for them to read that message?

GMG must not have very many customer support employees.

Dang this makes it harder for me to decide on what to use my credit on.
As is, the only things I'd want are Garden Warfare and Batman Arkham Knight.

I'll ask my brother in the UK to pre-order GW for me, and save up for Arkham Knight.

Guessing they will no longer allow combination with vouchers from now on. I would think that it hurts the value of their service more than helps in the long run, but I can see why they took such action.
 
The .5 Brutal Legend one is super easy. Video guides show a fool proof place to do the jump. The 300 axe kills can be grinder out in the opening scenes too.
 
Anyone know if it's possible to get Torchlight 2 achievements if I download an endless dungeon mod? I reckon that would be faster than going through the campaign again.
 
The Spelunky achievements are easier than the ones they had before. I am stuck on the .50 one, Public Enemy. Does it count if the shopkeepers kill themselves by falling off the stage/

Yeah, if I'm totally honest I think I'd rather have the rewards program than not. It just leads to a dilemma every time I think of buying a game on GMG where I have to ask if it's better to use up some credit or go with the 20% voucher instead, and in the end I end up not buying anything. Not that I'm complaining, I should be buying less shit anyways, but I wonder too if ultimately it will hurt GMG in the long run.

Also, as an aside, the rewards got me to fire up Gunpoint and Brutal Legend for the first time, and I'm surprised especially by how much I'm enjoying Brutal Legend. I know it's supposed to get awful later with the RTS stuff but I've just gotten my first set of minions and it's still pretty fun for now. Gunpoint, of course, is just plain sweet. Dat Perfect Gentleman run.

Certainly. I've had some dilemmas and temptations, but I'm dead set on using my credit (almost $30 or so) on GTAV when preorders open up because I'm sure their coupons + credit will not work together for it.

Of course, if they do... ;)
