Where to buy PS2 games ? Its not cheap, so PS2 classics in PS4 (and in future consoles are best way to preserve them) are great (even though they dont look like 4k) because they are going to be cheap and accessible for everyone around the world.

Yeah, it's possible I may end up doing that in the end too, when I look at the wallet, and get it later in the month since these are big RPGs and I'll also be playing XCX, unless there's a PSX day 1 discount kind of thing for it.

Nice to see they are committed to Crosspay.

Crosspay works on games that are the same. These aren't. They are upscaled, have better framerate and trophy support. Mini remasters if you will.

The same could be said of many cross-buy games that were previously released on PS3 and/or PS Vita, which were later ported to PS4 (Flower, Journey, Sound Shapes, The Unfinished Swan, etc.), and nobody had to pay for them a second time.

Microsoft does not ask their customers to pay up to carry over Xbox 360 games to Xbox One. Nintendo also doesn't require this--while you can purchase upgraded versions of some Virtual Console games for a small fee, this is a purely optional, and you could still do a straight transfer of the old games at no additional cost. In order to satisfy customers, Sony needs to see what their competitors are doing here, and match or beat their policies.

I'm not mad about the pricing.. It is what it is. It's just like Nintendo VC. You'll either find it a value or not.

My ONLY frustration is that I have ~20 "Classics" games on PS3 that are just thrown away money sort of.. Granted I didn't actually pay for all of them (PS+, promotions, etc).. but I probably did pay for ~10 or so of them (GTA, Crash1-3, and others) that I feel kind of fucked by sony here "we'll just keep charging you for them every gen!!!"

I mean yeah Nintendo used to do that on handhelds also.. but they'd at least carry a generation forward with BC, and it's a much smaller pain keeping an old handheld around to play old games than it is to keep a home console connected and playable.

I wouldn't mind that if they were Jrpgs or platformers whose graphics have aged well. Basically genres where graphics don't matter as much to the core demo they are designed for.

I like that they have up-res'd them and added trophy support but I think the pricing is a bit expensive. Especially because they'll probably be even more expensive where I live. If it's any more than £10 then there's no chance. I'll probably wait for sales anyway.

Gonna be 12 quid. Usually is when games are $15. If buy from us store it's more like £9 and £6 for the $9.99 games

Framerate in particular is going to be much improved across the board and we will see a lot of titles at 60 fps. Hopefully that input lag that plagued PS2 classics on PS3 is gone.

Won't be too many ppl. If things are to believed The majority never even owned a ps3 let alone bothered buying ps2 classics which were all third party shovelware for the most part. The ppl affected are frankly a drop in the ocean.

I did but I moved on from it once they didn't move them to PS4.

While I think alot of the reaction has been overblown, I do think that Sony should offer ps1 classics on the ps4. That doesn't seem entirely unreasonable.

I checked what PS2 classics people are getting their titties in a twist. So I just check the PS2 store.

The only cross over is Mark Of Kri, Twisted Metal, and the GTA games.

I hope someone manages to find out during PSX the frequency the games will be released. "Regularly" could mean a whole lot of things.
