PlayStation 2 comes to PS4 official trailer

There are likely going to me many more cross overs in the future....

There are like 20-25 games in there worth a damn. The rest is crap.

Of those 25, half probably didn't sell a lot. So it feels like to me people using this argument of "Bu-bu, ma PS2 classics!" are just trying to look for any argument they can, while being a very small minority.

Awesome. Now bring on Burnout3.
Might pull the trigger on Rogue Galaxy, didn't get the chance to play it back then.

The people complaining about no cross over for the Classics are also the people who actually bought them. So the people who affected the most by the lack of compatibility are the ones who also spent the most money on PS1 and PS2 Classics in the past, and if there was compatibility would also be the people most likely to buy more Classics going forward

Yeah this doesn't really affect those who didn't care to give Sony money on PSN before. It's the largest purchaser's of legacy content they are making things difficult for when they are trying to sell more legacy content. They're aggravating the people who gave them more money in the past and would have gave more money in the future. That seems incredibly counter productive.

Well it is, but we can only hope that they have something planned for that. I have tons of PS1 and PS2 games on there...i'll just have to be more selective about games i buy on the store otherwise.

Jesus. That's your opinion.

I purchased around 20 PS2 Classics. I'd like a discount on those titles if they make it to PS4. I'm not asking for free cross-buy. If that doesn't happen, I have no real interest in this service. I'm not saying I won't buy anything but you can bet I'm going to be extremely selective going forward.

If Nintendo can offer a discount, so can Sony.

Pretty much. It's not like I won't buy Rogue Galaxy, Dark Chronicle or whatever. I'll get them at some point on a sale reluctantly. But I'm not rebuying anything I've already gotten and I'm going to be extremely picky and selective about anything I buy in the future. If not for this whole mess I would have happily bought loads of games since I was really looking forward to a new wave of PS2 Classics.

Didn't you have to physically connect a wire from your Wii to Wii U to transfer over your Wii digital purchases over to your Wii U? So you could use it in the Wii channel mode? THEN the Wii U could read the games off your system storage if you were purchasing a Wii U version of the SAME VC game for a discount? Quite a lot of hurdles for a discount. Shoot, Nintendo charges 8.00-9.00 for SNES games! SCE sold PSOne games for 5.99 (cheaper than Nintendo sold SNES) and gave you account based cross buy with PSP and PSVita. That's more than Nintendo will ever do for you.

Personally I feel these aren't as basic as the previous VC rom dumps. Trophies, 1080P, Shareplay, Remote Play, has a lot more going on.

What? No, not at all.

No, you didn't have to physically connect a wire.

The transfer process was a bit cumbersome though. Took around 45 minutes. It was worth it though. I have every Wii VC game (and WiiWare game) I purchased for Wii now on my Wii U and I can pay a small upgrade fee per game if I want to add the new Wii U features.

If you don't want those extra features, you can play everything you purchased on Wii free of charge on your Wii U.

Fantastic timing. Me and the wife were gonna start another play through of Vice City on PS2 tomorrow. Guess we'll be doing so in 1080p with trophies.

Will buy that and San Andreas the second they're up on PSN.

Our lass is made up. Can't wait now.

Oh man this is awesome. Stoked about having the option to play these with trophies. My PS4 slate is totally packed at the moment, but once it opens up I'll probably jump on Rogue Galaxy.

Bought one ps2 classic on ps3 and never actually played the game. Guess I was caught up in the hype of it being available again. Doubt I'll end up buying any of these games unless ff12 comes. Never got to finish that one before my saved game accidently got deleted.

So I did the first stage of The Mark of Kri. I haven't played it since it was first released. I'm kinda pleased on how they brought it to 1080p instead of upscaling from 480p. Graphics are nice and clean. sucks its not wide screen though.

There are some glitches and theres a lot of pausing in the game during battle. I'm uploading the footage now.

I checked what PS2 classics people are getting their titties in a twist. So I just check the PS2 store.

The only cross over is Mark Of Kri, Twisted Metal, and the GTA games.

Thats it. Are these the games that people are bitching about?

Are you daft?
That's over half the games currently offered.

I don't understand the excuse being "They were the first game we could get licensed".

If licensing was the issue, why aren't there a ton of 1st party games?

I"m not seeing them on EU PS Store...

They're a ballache to find. Either use a PC browser, or look through your feed to see if any friends have been playing the particular game you want to buy and link to it that way - I had to do that to buy Vice City earlier as searching in the store itself wasn't working.

I'm not expecting games like Ico, or Jak n' Daxter or even third party games such as MGS 2 that were remastered last gen to turn up here as they would rather use the newer versions and charge higher. For similar reasons I wouldn't expect to see Ratchet and Clank either...

Going through the list of PS2 first party games, and cutting out those in HD collections and that are sports games, the list shrinks considerably. Some I'm sure are coming, and a couple are announced as coming (so their sequels might show up, too).

It all depends on what the frequency of the releases are. Are these "coming soon" games coming this month and that's why they are showing them off? Or are they going to be one a week or less than that?

Do these have Platinum trophies too?

Six of the eight games have Platinums.
