Hey
BGs
heres a recap question. If i remember you weren't completely happy with the PS5 event right? I believe something along the lines of you thought they could show more of what PS5 can do, was it?
Now, was that in graphics aka photorealism? Was it in capability like ssd streaming like the Unreal engine 5 ending where she flies and its looks like a movie?
Can you recap what you think they should show or can show that would impress you in terms of technology and what PS5 can do? Is it the real graphics or something more?
Thanks.
Specifically at the level of photorealistic graphics and physics (in general).
Obviously not in all the titles, but some internal sample of a specific first party (not a third like Epic), which has been a TechDemo, for example in the style of The Sorcerer.
In gameplay I did not expect much because it is impossible to represent the DualSense in a video.
At the audio level, I expected much more. I understand that streaming is not the right way, but something better could still have been prepared. On the same Sony website (I think) there are already better demos or on the same Epic demo (but I was expecting a specific one from Sony and not only the part of GT that for me did not sound according to the quality and immersion expected.
But the problem is me. When you work on this you become too demanding and you see "lacks everything". When you know what can be done you demand the same result in everything, and that cannot be, logically. But hey, you should be reassured to know that TLOU2 works on a PS4 (not Pro) and that UE4 can do more photorealistic things or scenarios than DeathStranding. So you don't have to worry about what a PS5 and UE5 can do (together or separately, it doesn't matter).
I did expect some VR, but not because I knew it, it was a wish, but I understand that they don't want to mix things up, since PSVR2 is itself a system in itself.
With PSVR1 compatible with PS5 there is no need to speed up or overlap presentations, and if they do not present it before September, I don't think they will do it until next year. On the other hand, if they present it all this year, I think that the joint payment would be excessive. Above all, they pretend that people also change TVs.
Now, will a player be able to withstand a photorealistic environment in a psychological (or Silent Hill-style) horror game with the TempestEngine's 3D audio?
