PSVR will work on PS5 with DS4. But exclusive VR games for PS5 will be for PSVR2 (I assume) and it’s new VR controllers “VirtualSense”.

They're still trending #2 on Twitter. Going to be stupidly popular when they finally take the gloves off later on.

Would be curious too see what the Rockstar team can pull off with a next-gen GTA game, I’m thinking their devs will love the next-gen consoles, especially the PS5. Open world games as detailed and intricate like GTA will really benefit from the SSD’s.

Yup, that's my thought. Sony did the same lately in the camera field, waited for the new Canon R5 and R6 to get all the necessary bad news of overheating in air-conditioned rooms at 23C to then parade with a7s III as the beast that knows no overheating!

It's not, those games pay back pretty quickly, sometimes within 1-3 days. Going by GOT, it sold 2.4 million copies in 3 days, and that's a combination of $60-200 versions. But let's keep it as $60, so that's $144 million USD, which is insane!

It's up to Microsoft to do better and not worse. If the Xbox brand fails it's because they were not making the right decisions. It's not a problem about money because they have more than Sony it's how they use it.
I'm all for Xbox providing good competition but I'm against them making poor decisions.

Just imagine if Xbox folded, all those companies to be picked up by Sony. Quality control would hit new heights, back to generations again. Every game would take advantage of the new ssd tech.

That's relevant to being lazy, it's an act shown by EA and Activation. Trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of as little as possible. That make them face drastic endings. Sony prefers delivering quality because it pays back, whether xbox is around or not. You would see Sony making more risky projects and reboots of old franchises like Motorstorm, Twisted Metal, etc. Studios can expand.
It's extremely dangerous to gaming if Xbox gets big because they're worse than EA.

But stuff like Sony doubling or tripling down on buying up 3rd party exclusives are the things I'm talking about that aren't healthy for the industry in any way that seem directly targeted at taking MS out of the game.

Not only that... if PlayStation picks up all the Xbox gamers and some PC ones that used to be PC and Xbox..... then PS5/6 could hit well over 200 million consoles... that means they can pack more advanced, more expensive technology into each console they make....because the economies of scale are better for them.
They also don't have to compete with MS for silicon from AMD. SO better prices overall.

Well Microsoft is doing the same thing and they are buying up multiplat developers.
I think the best thing they can do is produce quality games.
Microsoft needs to focus on selling consoles instead of gamepass subscriptions then.

I don't mean that we will get a huge discount at retail..... but the tech they buy from the likes of AMD and others could be of higher quality or higher budget due to the discounts available for the quantities they are buying.
I'm sure the retail cost will continue to be 400 to 500 dollars / euro no matter.
Hardware will never be the big moneymaker, the games and services inside a 'walled garden' are.

Nah, I've been too enjoyed in the Sony ecosystem since PS1 to not know how they make things. PS3 was just too good for mediocre devs, too exotic, too expensive as well. Nothing about ego, but potential was too big to not take risks. If they would departure from the PC architecture and provide an exotic system yet easy to develop for, I'm all for it. CELL still pretty impressive even now.
Microsoft? Well I know that company since 1996, many do, many don't like it. It's that simple. Very different companies, very different mentalities. Xbox One was an alarming warning to the gaming industry, a disastrous philosophy, and gladly it failed pretty badly. Those recent jokes of so-called "pro-consumer" don't mix up well with all the FUD campaign they've been doing, the clowns they've been cheering up like timdog and the crew, and the mediocre games made.

Ironically the devs that could produce games on Cell are the best in the industry & now are the PS studios. Cell literally weeded out who were the super programmers. Crazy in that chaos Sony still found wins. Is that luck or what!!
