PlayStation 5 Pro Could Be the Best Place to Play Multiplatform Games With Bad PC Ports; There Will Be No Reason to Use FSR Over PSSR

Looks very playable in the video and the demo run very well here. But keep crying with others videos.
Alex words, not mine:

Here the game is just.. just not at all fun to play.
And loses all of that ambience and atmosphere becuase every single time you go near a door, and the game has tons of doors as that's just its design, and every single time you go near one, the game would stutter. And you could just go back and forth areas and just constantly having stutter.. oh.. it's such a shame.

But if that's how you usually play games and something like that sounds normal, I'm genuinely happy for you.

Keep crying with others words instead of trying for yourself in your PC.

It's so usual games having traversal stuttering on PC, Wow. More than 0,00001% of them. A messed library of games.

Funny a player of shooters on dual stick controller happy for how I play my games.

Unplayable.

Better trade for a PS5 version.

Question: Is stuttering in PC games, has something to do with improper and unbalance set up for example the GPU, CPU, Memory, and coolant? Or compatibility issues ? Or to much of that or to less of that? What I mean is maybe soup up to much the PC has bad effect on performance just like cars, it is not always about horse power.

Just the tremors you get from that feeling of superiority.

That's generally due to drive speeds, memory or whatever your slowest component is.

Consoles need to die so we don't have to deal with "bad ports" and just have games made for PC.

At this juncture one could argue that most games are PlayStation native and the rest are "ports" for other platforms ?
If the consoles are not involved there is no Witcher 3 as it is, we can lay it out that simply. We just cannot afford it, because consoles allow us to go higher in terms of the possible or achievable sales; have a higher budget for the game, and invest it all into developing this huge, gigantic world.

Reminds me of that joke where a guy is touring an old castle and sees a plane flying overhead. He asks the tour guide "Why did they build the castle so close to the airport?"

The most frequent source of stutters is shader compilation. The shaders aren’t caught in the caching process on PC and are compiled in real time instead, this results in a slight hitch. This happens only once, but will likely happen again if the GPU drivers are updated or the GPU is changed.
That's generally due to drive speeds, memory or whatever your slowest component is.
The stutters on PC are seldom due to the hardware. Even having a beast of a rig with top-tier components won’t make them go away.

See the so call death of xbox has caused the warriors to open a new front of the war.
While it may seem that way, if we look at it without bias (as much as realistically possible for folks like us who have preferences), this seems like an okay statement / thread to me.

We are enthusiasts and often want the best-of-the-best. For us, it means getting a PC that is usually around $2,000. Otherwise, we are compromising one one thing or another. And, as we know, even the beefiest PCs can have issues more often than not because even big games are not as optimized on PCs as they should be. Relatively speaking, consoles get better ports - especially the PS5.

So if one doesn't have that budget - which, outside of this forum, is the majority of casual gamers - PS5 Pro does offer an excellent option in terms of bangs-for-the-buck.

You get a plug-and-play solution, excellent ports, DualSense experience, very close to the beefiest PC versions - which is a pretty good package, especially we account for diminishing returns, particularly for casual gamers (the majority).

My long running theory is that modern PC platform warriors are former console warriors that in their understandable excitement for the benefits of PC gaming decide to extol the virtues in the only way they know how (see: be annoying and insufferable).

That's exactly how it works. The personality is there. Doesn't matter what they buy. If other people buy a different one, there are things implied.

Ignoring the warrior talk I don’t think it’s just a theory that there has been a a major console to PC transition. Has to be facts. GAF has the proof if you’re willing to look back a couple years.

My view of it:

The move from console to PC started last generation when Microsoft started porting Xbox games to PC. At first there were Playstation fans saying that Xbox weren’t needed anymore since they could play the exclusives on PC. Late ports and only select titles at first but it was enough for Playstation+PC to become an interesting combo.

Later on Xbox fans thought Play Anywhere was convenient with the dual license and save sync and hyped that and started doing the move.

And this generation when Xbox games are on Steam day 1 and the console is struggling and Playstation exclusives comes a bit later there are suddenly a ton of former console gamers from two platforms seeing the upsides of PC gaming.

Playstation fans seems more anti-PC today, Xbox fans seems more pro-PC. Go back to around 2015-2016 and Xbox fans were crying over PC ports and PS fans were cheering. And long time PC gamers are probably laughing at the flip flopping and constant fighting.

Did you miss the last few years when dozens of games launched with stuttering issues which needed a patch later on to correct it or, worse still, was just never resolved (see Returnal and Dead Space)? Why do you think #stutterstruggle and Alex's dismayed face is even a thing?
I've never had any stutter with either Returnal or Dead Space.
Only game i've had stutters the last few years was Callisto Protocol. That game had terrible performamce day one, even on a 3090.

Oh, yeah Elden Ring also had some issues which was fixed with a few very basic and good mods.
Then it ran buttersmooth in 120fps on my PC. Had quite a few performance issues on the PS5 with that game.

My experiences the last 3-4 years is that games has more performance issues on my consoles than my PC's. But there's been few issues overrall, and games in general run fine.
So I prefer PC for better visuals and higher fps, and more freedom.

On a serious note, though, I play on both PC and PS but have started leaning more toward consoles in recent years, especially as diminishing returns kept growing. The value for money is much better with consoles, particularly because I don't use Windows for my office work.

It just doesn't make sense to keep upgrading my gaming PC only for gaming. The value just isn't there IMO.

A best-of-the-best PC for $2,000?
Lucky you.
My no longer so best of the best PC from 2022 cost me over $5k if I do direct currency conversion and include taxes and shipping.

Prices has gone down since then but I would still have to pay nearly $4.5k for a 4090 build today. I went one step lower for my couch PC and went with a 4080S and all in all it cost me exactly $3,289 in a direct currency conversion to USD plus taxes and shipping cost.

For reference I had to pay $1,000 for PS5 Pro so that gives you an idea of price differences for us poor souls not living in the US, roughly x1.5 more.

Oh yeah everyones situation is different.

I game between PS5/ PC(mainly PC) at home but works away from so games on a laptop half the time. Now that is expensive to stay in the arms race.

I upgrade most things around every 4 years, so at least one bit of kit each year needs an update in some form. Probably get the pro next year tbf, but also fancy a 50 series card arrgghhh

Sidebar: I'd recommend looking into a Steam Deck if travel is a thing. Combined with Moonlight, it is a powerful yet cost-effective combo!

It'd also offer you PS5 games on the go with Chiaki.

Thanks for the recommendation but im on a 4090 laptop, i prefer my gaming full size. Its more for hotel rooms and my work place than actual travel, got the switch for that. And also switch 2 next year argghhhhhh lol.

You're actually celebrating that PlayStation 5 Pro might be able to play botched PC ports better? Congrats, I guess. You’re basically admitting consoles are just a safety net for developers who can't optimize their games properly.

Oh and dont get me started about your precious PSSR (which, let’s be honest, is just Sony trying to slap a shiny name on what’s already standard on PC).

If you need a console to compensate for lazy developers making bad PC ports, by all means, enjoy your overpriced box.

And please stop asking for a pro mode in EVERY thread. Nothing says "next-gen" like forcing developers to waste time optimizing their games for yet another slightly upgraded console. Instead of focusing on innovation or fixing core gameplay issues, now devs have to split their resources making sure their game works on multiple iterations of the same console. All so the PS5 Pro crowd can feel special for a hot minute.

How do you think PS5 and Xbox owners feel about MS and Sony shift towards PC and Console?? Talk about splitting time gtfo with that clown pcmr shit. You should be thrilled your getting all these Sony and MS games. You got some nerve though I'll give you that to say that console people don't deserve go get a high end experience too. One of the more selfish pcmr posts ive seen in a while

4090 laptop is crazy. How do you handle the temp/heat? I've always struggled with that, but TBF, I live in a very hot/humid environment (think avg. 100 F*+ 24x7x365)
