man, i waited til e3 to see if any bundles/price drops or games would be announced for ....and now i don't even think I want to buy a vita again :(

just not enough incentive anymore.

I might as well just play everything on ps3/ps4.

A wise decision. I'm probably gonna stop buying vita games as well besides Oreshika and Senran Kagura. Probably wont have games after that to be honest.

If Nintendo had announced a new 3DS model at their event, I probably would have bought one. There are still a decent number of Vita games that I want to play in the near future, but I don't have much hope beyond that. I don't think there was a single Vita game announced last night that I was really interested in.

I am pissed as fuck. You can bet on that. Vita and PSP owners were the ones advocating all initiatives to bring this game over for the most part, and now even Xbox owners get to play it.

Feels like working for years and having someone else get your pay.

Still, the fact that Shahid says he is fighting for a Vita version gives me some hope. If a Vita version didn't exist in the first place, then it would be a lost cause, but I'm pretty sure this is coming to Japan as well, and I'd say it is almost a given that there will be a Vita version over there. If that is so, then Shahid's rants make sense and we might get the localization.

It's pretty insulting that in the Type-0 thread people are saying that the constant localization/vita port begging for the past 3 years had absolutely no effect on Square Enix >__> I seriously doubt we would have ever gotten this if we reminded quiet

Honestly, I've been insanely invested in Vita these past 2 years or so but this Type-0 "announcement" was the kick in the ass I needed to finally start letting go. It's a little tiring to have to fight tooth and nail to get the content I want on the system; and even more tiring to get constantly let down at every opportunity.

I have no regrets buying the system. I bought it for LittleBigPlanet/WipEout/Gravity Rush and those three alone lived up to my expectations. Tearaway; Hotline Miami & Dangan Ronpa were just the icing on the cake. But it seems like going forward things are just going to keep getting worse and worse, so time for me to start weening myself off it now and look into other systems.

That's not to say I'm dropping it entirely though. It's still getting three of my most anticipated games for 2014 - Dangan Ronpa 2; Tales of Hearts R & Oreshika. I'll probably pick up Freedom Wars/Akiba's Trip as well. Now that I list it like this, it's still a lot of stuff. And I'm incredibly thankful for the support NISA/XSEED/Aksys/Atlus and even Namco have given it lately. But I like a bit more variety than it's been getting. It'll still have a place in my collection. It just can't really have such a prominent place going forward.

Woke up to all this Type-0 mess... And you know while it sucks, this is still closer to getting it than we've ever been. Shahid's tweets are hopeful - he says they've been working on getting it on the Vita and him also falling for the bad headline means something (In fact the fact that the author of the article even made that mistake in the first place says a lot as well!). It wouldn't surprise me if a Vita port were announced later on down the track.

If nothing substantial comes out next year, Oreshika will be the last game (seems to be a 2015 game) I'll buy and I'll jump to the next gen train. This year is still packed with the games and is definitely the best year of the platform so far.

I sucked six dicks to get this tag.
So much depression in this thread lol, which is funny considering I'm more depressed for my 3DS than my Vita since there are only 2 games I'm interested in that this year(Pokemon, Smash Bros) while I still have about 5-7(maybe more) games I know I wanna pick up this year for my vita. Can't wait till that 3DS round table tomorrow for hopefully a megaton though

Gonna have to stay away from this thread until the depression dies down at this point, you guys are too toxic

For me there are still some indie games that I'm looking forward, which was exactly why I bought the platform in the first place.

But yeah, this was a kick in the nuts of Vita owners.

Damn, this type-0 deal was pretty bad and im really sad there is no Vita version.
And this was right after the announcement of smt4 being digital only in Europe after a 1year wait.
2 disappoinments right after each other. :lol

OT: People are rioting on the ps blog. #novitanobuy going strong in the comments.

There are a bunch of indie games I still want for the Vita, but I guess I should let go of the dream of getting more Experience dungeon crawlers in the west at this point.

Skipping out on Hearts R, Freedom Wars, Persona Dancing, Dangan Ronpa 2, and Neptunia Re;Birth?

Did you ever play Sly 2? If so, then this game is essentially more of that alongside levels very similar to the original (platforming focused on the traditional Sly gameplay). The game is also much smarted in how playable characters are handled; Bentley and Murry's playtime here are much, MUCH smaller compared to Sly 2 alongside Carmelita's gameplay being only used three too four times and the new characters (outside of one) all have the same gameplay as Sly, but with a twist (his Japanese ansester has the ability to leap between points super fast and his Wild West ansester is able to shoot using his gun-cane while rails sliding + being able to have a RDR-esc Quick Draw-type move).

Its a great game that is much, MUCH better than Sly 3 and takes everything that the first two games did and refines them to perfection :D. Outside the last world and final level (which are the weak points to this game), this game is a wonderful platformer and makes you want to see what else Sanzaru can do (as they are the developers of this game :D).
This sounds good. What if I haven't played any of the previous games, is this a good starting point?

:)

yeah, both handhelds've gone pretty dry at this point. i've been happy enough with what i've played on both, so i can't get all that bummed out. hopefully, the quirky 3rd party stuff will continue to dribble out for a while longer. if not, well, it was fun while it lasted :) ...

Well if you like rpgs, Persona Q is coming (3DS). Honestly 3DS has too much stuff atm if you're into RPGs. Vita could use an action game boost imo or some portable horror titles. Honestly i'm surprised Capcom hasnt given unique releases on the Vita an honest shot.

I dunno man. LBP3, No Man Sky, and MKX, along with Bloodborne...hell the conference in general made me go buy a PS4 today.

yeah, i'm gonna throw an HD TV and a PS4 on the credit card soon enough just for LBP3 alone... i never got to play Last of Us or GTAV before I sold my PS3 again, so even that stuff is good for me. Bloodborne getting a name, white PS4, more MGSV, some stuff from EA & Ubi I want.

i'm really excited to get one now, not just in the "will eventually" camp anymore

Yeah I sold GTA V and The last of us PS3 in order to get ready for those two. Beat last of us, but was in the middle of GTA V.

Just read about the Type-0 HD announcement catastrophe.

Words cannot express how angry I am at Sony and Square Enix at the moment.

Seriously considering selling my Vita now. I'm just tired of this shit, I don't want to give Sony any Vita-related money anymore.

I haven't bought a retail vita game since... I don't even remember.
I bought some Muramasa DLC the other day, but I just game on PC now.

The only thing I really want on PS4 is Bloodborne too, so it seems like my support/good will for Sony is running thin these days.

It's hella cray that for sure, Vita owners got swerved hard and after such a large push to get Type-0 on Vita; PS Blog going mental about this over there. The Vita situation in terms of mass perception is truly a vicious cycle and SCEA doesn't even want to carve a niche from it or rather it's almost like they hate it exists lol, thank goodness for Europeans that's all I'll say. Oh well, I'm" admittedly a bit biased towards TK but as long as Tecmo Koei keeps supporting the Vita I'm" in.

Granted, Kagari mentioned in the thread that Sony's actually pushing for it to happen, Square Enix is being stubborn on the whole thing. She'll be elaborating more on it later.

Shouldn't you do the opposite? I mean, if you're boycotting the Vita instead of the more popular platforms how are they supposed to understand you want more stuff on the Vita?
"I'm mad because Type-0 is on PS4 instead of Vita and now I'll buy even more stuff on PS4, that will teach'em!"

But, anyway, in this particular case Sony shouldn't really be blamed, it's not like they have a say on where SE should invest. At the end of the day they do whatever they want.

good lord, sony is a bunch of asshats & yes, shahid needs to go and he's a massive clown but holy shit the comments

people have been wanting type-0 to come to the west for a very long time.

you should be all thankful that it's coming to the west regardless of platform choice.

if you guys truly love Final Fantasy, then you would play a GREAT game on any system they decide to put it on. Be it the Xbox One or your iPad

If you want to play it on the Vita so bad then buy it on the Japanese store

I agree. I know it might be wishful thinking but both Shahid and the SQEX representative making this mistake might be due to a Vita version be at least under discussion.

We'll see.

This isn't a practical solution for the majority of people and you know it.
I know, but if one wants to play Type-0 English so bad then they should get rid of their bitterness and buy it on the PS4 or Xbox One.

The game is coming to the west and that's all that fucking matters regardless of platform choice

I don't have a PS4 or XBONE and don't plan to buy one any time soon. I think it's good that people are being vocal about this, because obviously a Vita version has been in the pipeline at some point and the extra push can't do any harm.

If it annoys you just ignore it.

You can't blame this on Sony. This is all SE's decision making. You can blame Sony for the Vita's poor situation though.

It is a solid starting point; there are references to story from Sly 3 (the ending is spoiled in the beginning) but after that the game stands on its own story wise; it is completely separate from the past games outside some nods here and there to past games.

The game even has a recap movie at the start explaining who Sly and the gang are, what happened before Thieves in Time and setting up who the characters personalities are.

Gameplay wise, this is pretty much the perfected version of Sly 2, so you aren't missing much from past games (though if you enjoy this one, you should pick up the Sly Collection on Vita; a great remaster of all three games and they run really well on Vita. The first and second are the best of the collection with the third being good up until the Winter China level which is.....I believe he fourth world, then the game progressively get worse and worse X().

I really don't want to play Type-0 on my PS4. When I do buy it, there's a 99% chance that I'll play the whole thing through Vita remote play... And I literally never use remote play.
