To be fair, the print run on that game was super small.

for sure, i know, but in my dream world, demand for Cave Story would be so high that they were forced to print another million copies

in my nightmare world, Gamestop would foot the bill and be selling them for $90, while i complain that they're not 1st prints and not actually rare

Throwing the Vita in my bag while going to uni doesn't seem like such a good idea, so I'd like to get a decent case for it.

Unfortunately the official PS Vita case seems really badly designed and the Travel Pouch seems too bulky to keep in a bag. Any suggestions? Should I look for a hard cover instead?

I have a PDP Hard Case:

It does a great job keeping the Screen and Analog Sticks in solid condition and has room for 8 games + 2 MC's (really helpful, as you can hold up to 3 MC's (with one in the Vita itself). Just be aware that after a while (in my case, about a year) the case stops being able to close....that isn't a good thing :(. They are only 10 bucks (I believe so...) so replacing a bused one isn't that bad :).

^that one looks pretty nice on the top pic

i've never seen one irl but i think the hori hard cases are similar to the first edition bundle case

Been playing Crash 2 on Vita and I never got the hate for the system's analog sticks until now. Maybe I'm just not as patient as when I was younger, but navigating with the Vita stick is such a pain.

Crash 2 doesn't properly support analog so maybe that's why.
Made for dpad.

Oh, really? I remember playing it analog as a kid, but I assume the PS1 version was coded with d-pad in mind.

Looking online, the back cover does say it had analog support for the pre-dual shock controller. But yeah, I do see people saying the sticks don't work properly in analog mode.
Weird stuff, I may try my copy later.

Are you playing Crash 2 on Vita by changing/customizing the controls so that the Vita's Left Stick functions as the D-pad?

Quick question about Totori. I tried quickly looking at an endings guide but I didn't want to have anything spoiled, but are there a lot of events that count towards getting specific endings that are missable? Like, must do by this ingame date or you lose out? I know there are points of no return where you have gone too far and are locked to an ending, but are there ways to lock yourself out of an ending besides just not finishing stuff before the game is over?

Also, I had a lot of trouble playing Crash 3 with the vita sticks, and that game was definitely made with analog controls as a main option. But it was more platinum relic speed run level precision I had trouble with, not complete the level successfully precision.

Well now that I think about it, I do remember having issues with the analog sticks when I played it on PS1. Only on the boulder/giant polar bear levels though; I remember my thumbs always slipping.

No, I switched the controller mode from digital to analog. Would changing the controls work? I'm not having much luck with the d-pad either.

I had trouble even going for platinum relics as a kid, but that's mostly because I hate time trials :P. But yeah, it's not difficult to complete Crash 2, it's more going for some of the gems that's become a pain.

Try it out then, I don't have my Vita with me sadly, but see if setting the D-pad as the left stick is better.

Thanks, I'll try it out later.

Ok, after 4 hours, I got my refund for my digital Motorstorm.
At least I paid quite a lot, so now I have some money to burn on those sales =]

OT question: Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 PS3: I install it, but there's no sound. Does anyone know how to fix it? I've tried uninstalling it and installing it again, not updating the game beforehand... And nothing. Still no sound. All other games and XMB have sound, so it doesn't seem like configuration or tv speakers...

Anyone else buy bust a move 4? It's been over a decade since I've played this game on the psx, but I'm pretty sure there was background or theme music while playing. Sadly the psn version doesn't have any as far as I know

Does PSN have issues with credit cards that are about to expire? My Mastercard expires in June, and PSN won't let me add funds via the web store. I've had no problems for years, and purchased something at the end of April.

I'm pretty sure that analog support was only added to later printings of Crash 2. For whatever reason the PSN version is the earlier version that only supports D-Pad.

Personally had no problems controlling it with the D-Pad mapped to analog on Vita though.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but have the Crash and Spyro games reverted back to not working on Vita? Thought I saw somewhere that they aren't for download now. Just curious before I try on Tuesday!

Yeah, if you missed it before you're out of luck. If your in the EU however, they are still working there.

None of the Star Ocean are even on the Japan PS Store. LOL.

It's Square Enix. They have pretty much abandoned most of their IPs. Except maybe as a card for their phone games. :/

Star Ocean is Tri-Ace.

After the failure of Star Ocean 4: The Lost Hope, I don't think Tri-Ace will be revisiting it again soon if ever.

So I'm about ten hours in with persona 4 golden, Enjoying it so far....One question...should I be holding onto my persona's or just create new ones when I have the chance? I just made a "Titan" that seems to be getting the job done. This is my first Persona game and I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying it.

Tri-Ace developed those games, but it's Square Enix who owns the property.

Ah, I didn't know that.

However:
http://rpgfan.com/news/2009/473.html

In a recent interview, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Yamagishi stated that he has no intention of working on the Star Ocean series after Star Ocean The Last Hope's upcoming PlayStation 3 release. The veteran producer who had overseen the development of tri-Ace titles at Enix and later Square Enix, explained that he has accomplished everything he had set out to do with the franchise. Originally, Star Ocean had been conceived as a trilogy and hence the plot had been written accordingly.

Fuse them away. Create new ones. Initial starting persona have low stats.

That doesn't look half bad, though I can't seem to find it on Amazon?

The Hori Hard Case seems to be a good option as well. I've also bumped into this AmazonBasics Heavy Duty Case which definitely looks cool albeit a bit too bulky.

Anyone encountering crashing games on PSVita lately? It started happening to me last night and when the game crashes, the PSVita crashes itself and needs a reboot.

I think the only way P4G could be any better for me was an option to use Japanese voice actors instead of English. I got used to them, but I didn't love some of the english vocal performances. Now, I looked for this option for a while, but if I somehow missed it and there is a way, VitaGAF please enlighten me!

import a JP copy

I've experienced it on Flying Hamster HD. Although it did not happen again for the past two days.

I think I've isolated the game that's causing the crash. ZP2's latest table update crashes the vita when started when the trophies have been synched on the server. You can't start the game anymore when you're online otherwise the game will crash including the vita itself.

I wouldn't say it's a dud. Looks pretty normal to me as far as my experience has been. You definitely play a game of display lottery when you buy a 1000 model. Some screens come out much better or much worse than others. My old 1k unit looked a lot like that, before I sold it for a 2k.

I've seen three Vita 1000's (mine and two friends') plus many others on display on department stores and such, and, Mura aside, all were perfect. Definitely nothing like that picture. I'd say return it to the guy who sold it to you.

Concerning cases, I use this 10" ipad bag. Lots of pockets and room for extras. As well as everything in the picture I have a spare wall charger, and can fit my ipad/keyboard in there as well, or a spare DS4 controller. That battery pack weighs in at 16000Mh which means nearly 4 full charges on the go.

If the bag is all a bit too much I can just carry the black foam pouch which houses the Vita and grips nicely. Plus DAT green anti static cloth for keeping it all smudge free.

All fits nicely into this:
