This is far from everything but just a list of interesting stuff i think may or may not show up at the Showcase. Lets start with the least likely stuff.

5%
Cod 2023 trailer- Cant totally rule this one out. If MS really wanted to show that they arent a monoply and never will be they could give PS a short trailer then have a deep dive at their own conference in a few weeks.
I don't think this is possible. Sony still has marketing rights to the title that has to be honored. So if there is going to be a deep dive anywhere, it would be on a Sony platform. And even at that, MS doesn't own ABK yet.
100%
Spidey 2- Hopefully it gets its own SoP this summer if not this could eat up 10-15mins of the show
FF16- Just had it own SoP so hopefully just a quick final release trailer
TLOU Factions- This and Spidey will be the main stars of the show. Expecting a 10 min deep dive lots of gameplay. Maybe even a summer time Beta announce.
Not expecting any deep dives longer than 5 minutes. They have state of play for those and so far every sony published/partnered game always got its own state of play.

Predictions:

Spider-Man 2 (duh)
Factions
Metal Gear 3
Spellbound (FromSoft )
Half life Alyx
Team Asobi
Bluepoint
2-3 GaaS titles
GTA6

No shows:
Bend
Sucker Punch
Sony Santa Monica
Guerilla
Naughty Dog SP game
Kojima (DS2)
I think Bluepoint and MGS3 are the same things. Sucker punch is due to show something. Not counting the MP expansion, their last release was in 2020. Can't imagine DS2 not being at this in some capacity.

It’s possible. But I am not going to get my hopes up

Games take 5-6 years to make now so we are only 3 years removed from GoT and Kojima tends to show stuff off at TGA

Well, Sucker Punch's next game is most ikey ging to be GOT2. So my guess is that they already have 60% of their engine down so that's most of the work already done. Maybe fresh new IPs take 5-6 years, but sequels tend to take around 4-5.

Either way, I see them at least showing it this year. And releasing in maybe fall of next year or early 2025. At some point, we gotta start asking what Sony will release next year, if SM2 and Factions come this year, something has to be released next year right? My money is on GoT2, MGS3R, SHR...etc.

R* is never at these events. Dont think they've ever even been uttered in an E3 type showcase...And GTA 6 would literally DROWN out every other single announcement...

Kind of. Rockstar actually was at one of the few PlayStation Showcases leading into launch, but it was just the GTA5 Remastered GTA Online content announcement.

But yeah, GTA6 doesn't make sense to me as an announcement R* would give to anybody, nor would they want to share the day with any other company's products.

So Lost Soul Aside and Convallaria won't be there, then? I honestly expect 1 or 2 more first-party PS4 games announced for late 2023-early 2024.
I am not expecting Convallaria; I think this game needs to be a lot better to reach te PS Studios quality and it will be delayed.

Lost Souls Aside will likely be there.

Rough prediction.

Intro (2 minutes)
SM2 (4-5 minutes)
DS2 (3 minutes)
TLOU Factions (4-5minutes)
Random TV spot (1 minute)
MGS3 (3 minutes)
SH2 R (2 minutes)
FF16 (2 minutes)
One of the Horizon multiplayer games or Helldivers 2 (2 minutes)
Stellar Blade (3 minutes)
One of the fighting games (2 minutes)
Q lite spot ( 1 minute)
Indies (10 minutes)
PSVR2 section (10 minutes)
Team Asobi game (3 minutes)
Housemarques new game (2 minutes)
Bluepoint's new game (2 minutes)
Outro (2 minutes)

60 minutes so far. I can't remember how many time in the previous showcase was random transitions, intro's and outro's.

I need to figure out what the spellbinding game is, maybe I am just missing the From Soft game. Personally just want to get insight into GenDesigns game this summer.

Get that Indie shit out of the show. I bet that will take up a 3rd of the show.

I thought they would leave the Indies for State of Play not PlayStation Showcase.
Last time we got Indies like Kena, Stray, Tchia and (I think) Sifu? Those are all amazing games.

If we can get a few indies of the same caliber, I'd be pretty happy.

Even better, if they showcase Hades 2 with a release date. 🔥

Maybe I missed it, but I would be surprised if they didn't announce Honkai Star Rail for Playstation at the showcase.

Plot twist: Sony doesn't show Spider-Man 2, at all. Has plans for a separate showing in early autumn, a couple of months before release.

7 months with no first party releases and they will show trailers for games that people cant get until 2024 at the earliest...

There will for sure be games shown which will release in 2023, probably even some from Sony. Sony cleared out their Phase I product line (and also their PSVR launch titles, ) and although this gen has been agonizingly spare in major titles, we know they have titles to announce by teams who should be close to done by now. Sony won't go the rest of the year with only product releases in Feb/March.

... Could still suck, there have been letdown showcases (well, not really in a long time imo, but especially after skipping a year, Sony has a lot of expectations to live up to here.) But whether it's a big bang or a oof dud, Sony will lay out the next 18 months or so, and the focus cannot reasonably be on two Christmases from now purely on their financial records, much less gamer impressions.

At the very least, Spider-Man 2 is all but officially announced for this year. The Marvel.com website for it even lists it as Fall 2023.

(*BTW, it hadn't been 7 months since a first party release. PSVR2 launched in February. Also the next MLB The Show came out a bit ago. It may have been 7 months since you bought a first party release, but it's not like shelves have been left bare.)

Lol what? Bankrupt cause they announce TLOU 3 after the massive success of the HBO show and TLOU 2 ? Wut? This must be a joke post.

The nature of the TLOU games is that they're grounded in hyper-realism, both in gameplay and design... the company have already made 2 and are now working on a multiplayer, and there's only so much they can innovate and create given the context and nature of the game.

It's healthy for a studios creativity to do something totally different and push them in different ways. This is why the rumors of them working on a fantasy IP also sound plausible.

Sure TLOU show is a huge success, all the more reason to let all the seasons play out then release the third game after it's gained an even wider audience and more mindshare.

Minimum I want from Naughty Dog
(Factions and Part 2 PC&PS5 announcement)

Ideal announcement for me ( Factions, TLOU3 teaser and Part 2 for PC&PS5)

You think they will confirm the pro?
Highly unlikely, but a new PS5s marketed as a replacement for the PS5 digital SKU and coming in at the same price sounds very likely. Keeping it at the same price as the current PS5DE means it won't compete with the PS5 disc version, even if you can get an add-on disc drive for it.

Announce it and the disc drive add-on next week > Release it next month > Release disc drive add-on in September > Discontinue PS5 with disc drive in September.

Who am I kidding though, they likely won't do that but it won't surprise me if they did.

I expect them to do some 15-30min state of play only for Spiderman2, like they did with some other major releases (Horizon, Final Fantasy, Ghost of Tsushima...).
The rumoured release is September, and I would make the SoP a few weeks before.

are in a big trouble
I'm surprised everybody says GTA 6 I can't recall the last time they were at a live event I think he was for GTA 4. As far as I remember GTA 5 was just a trailer so I was red dead 2.

They don't really need to be at these events so I'll be surprised if they even show anything

Sucker Punch released GoT Director's Cut / PS5 SKU / Ikki DLC less than two years ago, a few months before the GoT Legends MP mode and a few months before the GoT game.

Big AAA games today take around 5-6 years or more and Sony usually announces their games when they are a year or a year and a half from their estimated release.

So if Sucker Punch has something to show this year will be the GoT PC port, or maximum a logo.

Bluepoint

Bluepoint isn't working in any remaster or remake, and aren't leading any game.

They are around 70 people. After Demon's Souls Bluepoint moved to God of War Ragnarok and their boss said in a IGN interview when bought by Sony that they moved away from remasters and remakes, and that now were only going to work in original games.

And their game design team was a single guy, not enough to make their own original game. After GoWR they hired a level designer, still not enough. So in their next project, where they have been working for around half a year, they will work again in a support role like in GoWR.

They've actually been at the last 2 Playstation Showcases. Though only with GTA5 announcements. It would be surprising if they announced a new game here.

The only complication I could see with GOT2, is that they might want to hold it back to avoid overshadowing Rise of the Ronin.
