Will Outrun be released on Japan PSN or is it EU only at this point? This is really fucked up if it is the case. We need to start a letter-writing campaign to Sega or something. I swear I read somewhere that the only reason it wasn't coming to the US was that they didn't think people were interested in it or something.

That's very true. That is why I tell people you do NOT want Bust A Groove to play on PS3. I tried playing on an SDTV, HDTV, various settings, and still came across lag. I had to time all attacks differently in Legend of Dragoon. PaRappa The Rapper (demo), DDR Konamix (with controller) Bust A Groove (demo), and Um Jammer Lammy (I tested all) were all unplayable on PS3. DDR PS2 games, lag wasn't anywhere near as bad, but still present.

This version of Outrun was a Sega Europe & America co-project iirc.

Magic Ball, when it first came out, was like crack for me. What an addictive game, and truly underrated.

I'm aware of ps3 bc lag and still play ps2 2d fighters just fine as I have this godly skill of adopting to a 3 frame lag.

Just remember kids to not use smoothening and any upscaling.

Seriously, I have many 2D fighters too and I don't get what you're saying. Is this something you have to know how to recognize?

Cuboid + Valkyria Chronicles DLC? I'm gonna splurge on my much hated DLC this month. Although Sega gets a pass this time because it looks like they sincerely produced their DLC after the game was released and doesn't look like stuff that should've been in the game in the first place.

The lag is there regardless of smoothing options.

You'll never notice it unless you're playing against other people, some stuff you won't be able to block on reaction, some combos can't be verified.

Basically, if you didn't know about it and can't tell the difference, it doesn't matter at all.

I guess I fall into that group. I've never been proficient enough in any fighting game to "frame count". The whole concept sounds like it would be beyond my skill level. I'll just remain blissfully ignorant.

That's just for back up right? I'd like something where I can put on my PSP and also have it on my PS3 and then when I replace my 3000 with the 4000 I can transfer that license to it. I don't think I can do that yet, I'm going on a trip soon and I wouldn't mind having those 2 classics to watch, but oh well.

3 frames @ 60fps is 48ms, a human has a response time of between 100-200ms. Can't say I've ever noticed bad deinterlacing but even PowerDVD has had trouble deinterlacing some content but is usually very good.

In my guide I noticed I titled Crash Team Racing as "Crash Bandicoot Tag Team Racing". I do realize this is a completely different game, but you know what I meant. :p

Well, I'll be getting Outrun, as well as some VC DLC to support the devs (even though I suck too much to beat stage 5 :lol), and I'll probably look at Encore too.

Provided all that hits Europe on Thursday of course...

Turning off smoothing and scaling made fire pro wrestling returns playable but it is still noticeably slow. Sending 480i to an LCD is less laggy than 720 from the ps3.. so wrong.
